Customer service a disappointment
Product is good, Sunboost customer service is very disappointing. Customer support questions unanswered, system remained on after install and prior to smart meter being installed which we have just found out is illegal.

Not sure why I even bothered
I had solar installed a few months ago on my home in Broken Hill. I had 10 panels put on my roof in Broken Hill. I am shocked at how little solar is generated even on sunny days. On talking with consultants and sharing my current power bills with the people who were selling me this product I was told I would see a noticeable difference in my power bills. This is yet to be seen. For example, yesterday was a a sunny day in Broken Hill in December and my ten solar panels generated 4c off my bill. I am both stunned and disappointed with this product. I am not seeing any difference in what I paid for my power bills before I spent thousands installing this product. I was of course hopeful and optimistic that I had made a good decision.

Unit working to part capacity because of lack of site inspection.
Unit sold to me by a salesman over the phone. He looked at Google Maps and assured me my situation was perfect for the panels. The installer told me it would not work on the northern side of the roof as there were too many shadows. It was installed on the less efficient side of the roof facing south. Don't believe the on phone sales man unless they inspect the property first. After I had purchased the unit and paid for it Sunboost told me I owed more money.

Very bad customer service
Very hard to deal with the compay when there is an issue . The issue started when the installer installed the meter in front of the house and in a full direct sun which will cause damage to the unit but when I asked to relocate the Meter to the side of the house the company kept delaying and ignoring my problem especially they already got paid in advance

Don't count on Sunboost for warranty
I informed Sunboost of a faulty system over a month ago. One of the isolators has stopped working. Since contacting the company they have given me the run around. They simply have not been able to organise an electrician to inspect and replace the faulty part. Such delays and fobbing off customers is unacceptable. I can not recommend Sunboost.

Great Install but terrible Customer Service
Sent 2 emails and made 3 calls to make sure installer knew about unusual things about our install e.g. High BAL Assessment (Special flashing needed to go on roof) and High Wind Classification (N3 - 180kph wind meaning more rails to hold down panels). SunBoost would not tell us the name or phone number of the installer or get the installer to contact us. When the installer arrived they had not been told anything about our job and it was only that 2 other customers had cancelled their installs that they had enough rails to mount the panels. dering they had to travel about 300 kilometres to do the job it was only pure luck they could do the install. The installers, Launceston Electrical Solutions, took care of everything and nothing was a problem for them. I was very happy in how professional and organised they were. Sunboost only instals panels standing up not laying down because it uses more rails. We needed to have them laying down so we could fit all of the panels on our roof. This and the extra rails for the high wind area cost us an extra $1000 which was not expected due to SunBoost not doing any inspection of our roof before installation and not telling us they only install panels standing up. I would highly recommend the installers but not SunBoost.1 comment

Poor Communication
Beginning to wonder if I have made the right decision to go with Sunboost.
I have been given the run around for weeks and the communication is dreadful.
My job keeps getting delayed, wondering if it will ever happen.
They are not a member of the Clean Energy Council as they claimed.
Ask where they are and told in Sydney, I doubt it.
Generally not happy so far.

not happy with how we were dealt with once we had paid deposit.
Unfortunately once we had paid our deposit and decided to proceed, we could no longer contact Sunboost easily... in fact the person we dealt with originally was very difficult to contact.
We wish we had simply gone with someone local and supported them.

Excellent update on review
Well Done Barry, would not have managed without you help
without the help from you tech we would not have been able to correct the problem. We have had no issue until the the inverter stopped working, Barry done an excellent five star job in helping us correct the problem well done to Barry.

Still waiting on getting connected! 11.5 weeks after solar installation, still no smart meter
Installation went well, but apparently the guys never put their paperwork in, well that's the story we got eventually and that story changed a couple of times previously. Panels installed 29/11/19, today is 18/2/20. We are finally on the list for a new smart meter next week. Surely the office staff should have a system that works, they need to follow up the installers and make sure customers jobs flow through efficiently and no one falls through the cracks as it has happened to us. Once payment has been received, there's no more follow up or care. My review would have been 5 star if administration did a better job. 11 weeks is a very long time! Can't wait to start saving money on my panels.

Room to improve
Initially i was told the system had to be up and running before Christmas, it was not until 20/01/2020 till it was installed. Would have been nice for that to have been upfront during the application stage.
I had to constantly contact Sunboost to update my status to reflect the stage i was up to.
The company i was initially told was coming out to install the system was not the one who contacted us.
The company that did the install was not even the one who contacted us as they went out of business so we had to deal with the Installer Technician ...Read more

Excellent, until it failed to work after one day
Fantastic process from start to finish. The customer service is second to none and they were always on hand to help with anything. The installers were also excellent and were a pleasure to have around.

Company emailed me a very different quote to what was offered on the phone.
Sunboost won't send me an email quote that matches what they offered on the phone. Why wont they stand by their own quote? Very odd sales methods. Leaves me concerned rrgarding what I would end up getting.

before my deposit was taken. Your sales consultants need to issue terms and conditions with a quotation, BEFORE demanding a deposit. It is illegal (not enforceable) to add terms and conditions to an agreement after it is executed. You really need to work on the training of your sales staff.Similar opinion? Broken tiles, no customer service very unhappy
We had our panels installed, no issues there, installation took place in one day clean and efficient. Our issue is the installers broke over 45 tiles, didn’t tell us they were broken and tried to silicone the cracks up. We then had water enter our bathroom. Upon calling Sunboost several times and emailing to lodge a complaint, we were told a number of times that someone would call back. No phone calls, no return email. This went on for over 5 months. The bathroom leaked so badly that we had to claim it on our own house insurance to get the bathroom re-gyprocked. We are out of pocket for thousands of dollars having had to fix the roof ourselves. We would not recommend Sunboost due to the lack of customer service when things go wrong.

Warning- if you have a two storey house – it may just be too much trouble for the installers
I initially did my research, I sort of knew Sunboost were one of the “fastfood outlets” for Solar installations. I had a friend in the same suburb use them and everything turned out well for her. After cancelling one day for the install, on the new date the installers turned up. The install manager wanted to initially change where the panels had agreed to go so that it would be closer to the fuse box. He was concerned about length of cable he would have to use. gh to safely get the panels up. I said they were welcome to carry the panels inside to a second storey balcony where there was easy access to the roof. They were not interested, panels too large. However not as large as the sofa that was carried up last week. He then said the roof pitch was a bit steep. After that it was all action deciding which job they could get to next – hopefully a single storey house with an easy install. I felt that with so much work on, the installers could cherry pick the easy jobs and one’s like mine which would take longer and would be more difficult, they were not interested in. One installer said if I hired a lift from a hire store for about $300 they could go ahead. When Sunboost eventually came back to me they said they could do the job for another $1,200. Good one. If you have a simple install, why not risk it, it didn’t work for me, but I can understand the economics of it as they probably get paid the same irrespective of how long the install takes. Buyers beware, 4.5 stars maybe PR Review is being gamed, maybe not
Hello potential solar energy byers and Sunboost on line monitoring person, (you know what's coming).
I have mixed emotions about my Sunboost experience.
I notice that those who score Sunboost 5 stars mostly have never review anything before, just suddenly felt the urge to register on PR and gush (very briefly) about how wonderful Sunboost were. Really. Notice again 5 star reviews happen each and every day without ever missing a day and multiple times a day. Really!
These 5 Star review all mention and remember names of the multiple persons you will discover along the way. I won't because just to many to begin to remember.
Good bits. Not much fun bits. Predictable bits.

I want my deposit back
Booked install and had no impediments to what should have been a standard install. After weeks and the tentative date passing, a call to Angel resulted in my system still being weeks away. After another 12 days I was told by Daniel B that he would keep me informed but today Im told he still needs to get back to me with a date. This is NOT the timeline that was afreed to at initial negotiation. I have local tradies who can do a system on one weeks notice.

Overall a great experience
I fully recommend this company.I had 10kw fronius inverter and 29 Trina 365w panel system installed within 2 weeks of ordering ,Arnold was such a great help the installers were promt and courteous the electrician took the time to setup the wifi,so extremely happy with their service .about 1 month later I changed internet company I had trouble connecting so I rang Sunboost for help the person I spoke to tried to help but I think she needs a bit more training.the system is making between 35 to 45kw on sunny days so happy days

I was told installation would happen on 12 January. Three installers showed up and scoped the job (this is something other companies do BEFORE the date of installation and, if they are operating professionally, BEFORE they agree the price).
The installers made some comments about the need to run conduit and have an electrician to install.
Today (Saturday) I had a call with Sunboost telling me the job would cost a further $500 because it would take a day to install the wiring to the inverter and meter box. There was some (gobsmacking) comment regarding if it were not installed according to legal requirements, I could not use the solar system if it were inspected by relevant authorities.
I explained I had been offered a price, agreed a contract, expected the system would be installed in accordance with legal requirements and I would not be paying a cent more. I have asked Sunboost to send me a firm plan regarding installation by Monday, at the agreed price and, if not, I advised Sunboost I would have to consider my options.
Completely unsatisfactory performance to date. Hopefully Sunboost will redeem itself.

One of the 3 installers was the electrician on my job. They cant install it without an electrician. I had my site inspection on the day of install ebven after I asked for one prior. The electrician used conduit to run wire which is a requirement for all cabling anyway.
I did have another company come and do a site inspection but the person who came was rude and basically told me he was wasting his time with me. He also quoted almost 3 times the price for a similar system

We signed our contract with Sunboost on 13/11/2020 and paid our $200 deposit. We were supposed to get the system installed before Christmas but Sunboost Reps would just ring a day before installation and cancel. We have made endless calls to them and been transferred to installers who tell you that they will be coming to install and then they don’t turn up. Then we were told that our house was too high for the installers. We complained and was told that a representative from the installers would come and have a look at our house today then install the next day. We are still waiting. I wonder if Alan Border knows how this company really operates?

I didn’t have such issues. We had few cancellation due to rain on those dates . Who was the sales person. We had Mark. Talk to him and he will sort you issues.

Sunboost don’t let you talk to anyone but who they want you to talk to. It would be a waste of time asking for Mark. He probably doesn’t handle my area. We are in North Brisbane.

Oh well, you probably forgot to mention that, customer need to pay 300 deposit in order to secure the lowest price. Then it is wonderfully come with 10 days cooling period. customer will get REFUND with cooling period. Amid fee $150 apply. Wow easily, regardless what, sunboost gets 150 with every customer that they loop in thro “10 days cooling period”
