Never insure your car with Suncorp
My car is worth less than the cost of repairs but Suncorp don’t want to replace my car I have a new for old policy but it is not in their interest to even put new parts in my car
dont waste your money use another insurance company
had an accident involving a wallaby, made the claim on line and within 2 days the tow truck picked up the car and we were informed that the car would be ready in 3 weeks (I live 2 hours from the nearest repairer). 3 weeks later we rang to find out the progress and were told the gentleman working on the car had gone on holidays so it would be longer by a few days. this week (5 weeks after the incident being told it would only be 3 weeks) rang to find out the progress and were told the car is now at the mechanics for the mechanical side to be rep...aired. I rang the mechanic, the comment from them was I have no idea what your talking about mate we do not and have not had your car in. another call to Suncorp and they had to ring around to even find my vehicle. then 20 minutes on hold until they could tell me where it was eventually. then to say we are still waiting on parts before it then goes to the mechanic. lets see how long that will be!!!, as I mentioned to Suncorp this is not good enough there has been no communication from them and they are now after today 6 weeks having my vehicle after quoting 3 weeks.
FAKE, UNRELIABLE AND UNPROFESSIONAL
Used a misunderstanding against me to put my claim under review when I lodged my stolen car incident through a call. Even when I made it clear again at the end of the conversation that the car was not left unlocked she still put it down on offical documents. Unbelievable! When I called customer service they were "unable to do anything" and even tried to backup themselves up. Constantly shutting me down and told me to just wait for what the reviewer decides on. I told them that the reviewer would be making a conclusion on incorrect information but they did not care. Save yourself from being mistreated and disrespected like this.

Ongoing Saga - Suncorp fails to complete vehicle damage review bookings, sitting on their hands for 5 weeks and counting

See attached images for evidence that Suncorp has not done anything to progress a claim despite being advised by repair centre they are unable to make the assessment.
Policy Holder has advised Suncorp I am the point of contact for this claim, but nothing has been done for about five weeks since being advised by repair centre and subsequently the policy holder as Suncorp requested.

Worst service ever. At the time to claim there was new charges never previously disclosed. Closing all accounts and cancelled all other insurance policies and will never use them again. Only going to soeak their name to warn others to stay away
A company that isnt all about the money
I lost both my job since the pandemic today I rang up and unexpectedly was advised that they offer 3 month free to help people effected by the pandemic! Amazing!
They've never let me down
I've been with suncorp for about 4 years now and have had two ride off's in that time. First accident,not being my fault,I didn't have to pay anything and they were really nice and made sure that I was ok and paid me out within 2weeks of claim. No out of pocket expenses to me. 3months later,I had a new car and had that written off with 4 days of owning it,accident being my fault. Again,showed alot of empathy towards me and my situation and obviously being my fault, had to pay the excess,which I didn't mind and got paid out within 2weeks. Defini...tely value for money for me as I've had about $20000 paid out to me with only a year of being with them. They made the process so easy with minimal questions asked. They have been really efficient. My last ride off,about 2 years later they sent me an email saying they owed me around $400 which I thought was really honest for a insurance company. You get a no claim drivers reward every year you don't claim which i really love too. I have had such a great experience with them i would be a fool to go anywhere else.

Worst service ever!
After being involved in an accident that I was not responsible for my car a Mercedes E250 was sent for repair to SMART Capital for body repairs. Once I got my car back a week later the parking sensors started playing up. Suncorp is refusing to own the fact that the parking sensors were damaged while my car was under their care. The sensors were working perfectly fine even after the accident they only start playing up when I got the car back from SMART Capital (check their reviews). I would not recommend this insurance if you driving a premium ...car ( Mercedes, BMW) as they seem to deal with garages that are not qualified to deal with these type of cars. Twice I received conflicting report from SMART Capital first saying the car was perfectly fine there was no issues whatshowever (must be my imagination) second report saying there was a software issue but they were not responsible for it and it was not caused by the accident. Suncorp took my car for a second time for ten days without giving me a replacement car. I had to UBER to attend multiple medical and physiotherapy appointment to treat injury sustained during car accident Jhon the Suncorp Employee that I was dealing with did not care much and did not show empathy.
Honestly couldnt ask for better service
Excellent service, support and reasonable price. Cannot fault these guys at all. I have home insurance with them also and they are a stand up company. Very happy after two years with them
They have your back
They are not the cheapest (although competitively priced), but have been easy to contact, very responsive to my queries and have gone over and above in terms of service to me over the years. Always happy to negotiate ways to reduce my insurance costs and have been a valuable source of comfort to me in times of need when it really counts. I have gone elsewhere briefly, only to return for a level of service and concern they showed that I have not experienced elsewhere. Thankyou so much, Suncorp.
Highly unreliable and Very bad customer service
I had an issue with my car and I called the Suncorp. They said that they will cover the issue, and in my claim lodgement the status was changed to "Repair Authorized". After 2 days of waiting, they informed me that they are not going to cover that. I spend more than 3 hours on my phone and it disrupted my work for 3 days. If they provided me with accurate information at the day I contacted them first regarding this issue I could get this work done and save my time.
If I could give a minus rating I would do so and I do not recommend their service at all.
WARNING DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM
Attempted to short pay me for a not at fault accident by 2500$ ended up going through my own insurance to recover the money that I was entitled to, then attempted to charge me for the hire car after going through my insurance.
you will all burn in hell for your scandalous ways.
Good luck; even if you’re not at fault they get the money
My car was hit by another person while parked. Other party admitted fault. We called Suncorp to see if we should lodge a claim or leave it with the other drivers company (RACQ). We were told if we left it with RACQ we may not get as much back for the car as they’ll use current market value, not the market value at the time the policy was written. We were also told we would lose the rest of our insurance premium, whereas if we went through Suncorp we would get the market value at time of policy commencement and the left over amount from the ins...urance year (7months of the year left at the time of claim). As it turns out, this was false. Suncorp have decided the car is a write off, I have 3 business days to return the hire car that I’m supposed to have for 2 weeks while I wait for repair/find a replacement. They will keep the refund from the Rego and the CTP as they now own the car and they will also not repay the 7 months left of insurance we have with them as the policy is cancelled from the minute they say the claim is paid out. They have also not told me the repair quote given to them by their damage inspection team. In summation. Our car was hit, called Suncorp and asked for advice, told one thing, it is the complete opposite and now we are without a car, out of pocket for 7 months of insurance, out of pocket for half a years Rego and have to find a replacement car with only public transport/taxis/Uber to get around to check them out instead of the hire car agreed in our policy....so several hundreds if not a couple of thousand out of pocket having been a no fault party Through the whole process the people I spoke with in the local Suncorp branch were fantastic and helped us get through to the right complaints areas quickly - even if these complaints went nowhere the people in the branch should be commended

I was hit by a driver insured by Suncorp almost a year ago now (other driver 100% at fault). Dealing with their claims team is like trying to squeeze blood from a stone. They make you jump through unnecessary hoops, ignore emails for weeks on end, move the goalposts, and are then extremely rude and belittling when they finally do reply. 1 year later, and they are STILL yet to pay out. This is the worst "service" I have ever received from any company.
Great customer service
We would really recommend Suncorp car insurance they were always friendly and helpful on the phone and went out of their way to help us.
The only claim we had was for a small chip in the windscreen and they quickly organised for a company to check it out
Will definitely use them again if we are back in Australia!

Have been insured with Suncorp for 3 years through GIO - car was recently in a minor accident and had to be towed to repairers - firstly I was told it was going to be written off and to come empty the car out and then 2 days later I was told they wont be writing it off but they cant repair it either - so they offered a cash setlement which is half what the agreed value is and I was told to come get the car (which wont start and had to be towed) and that they will no longer insure the car as it now has pre existing damage.... they then said they...can tow the car and dump it out the front of my house. They were also happy to take my excess with no refund mentioned! Talked to the complaints department who told me its in all their policies that they can offer cash settlements instead of writing vehicles off when they cant repair them - how is that legal and what is insurance for if they don't repair and wont write it off? No point having insurance...
Bad and dodgy service
Bad and dodgy service. Was told I can change my policy within the cooling-off period. contacted them last week and was told had to pay $275 extra on top of what has already been paid just to change the date of the car insurance policy. Stay away from them.
Wife's car was sent to 2 different repairs and car worse then it was before the repairs would not recommend suncorp Insurance to my worst enemy very lazy car now a bomb very bad service shame on you suncorp have lost a lot of money thanks suncorp very bad service
Take No responsibility after you pay premium
I was in a three car accident, this year, I was at the front. I was not at fault but I had to pay my premium. They haven't taken any attempt find the information although I have uploaded picture of other cars including the car registration number. If the car owner behind me refuse to provide contact number out of fear what can I do.
They have no interest on providing me a loan car as well as if they have to pay for it. where as other insurance company already accepted. As they don't know the full picture ( without attempting to know the story...
Do Not Trust Gio Or Capitol Smart
Minimal damage and due to Capitol Smart Lane Cove's negligence the vehicle is not drivable. I don't recommend you take your vehicle there as it's been a battle with GIO and CAPITOL SMART. Emotional and financial strain that they don't feel accountable for.
