Rubbish...Gross Ineptitude and lack of any customer service
I'm still waiting for my mortgage documents... settlement supposed to be in 7 days...but looking like this isn't going to happen.
They have lied, misled my broker, failed to do what they said they were going to do...its been a nightmare. My broker has stated he has others in the same situation and will never use them again.
It took them 4 weeks to pick up a pre-approved file...to only then decide they needed to order a valuation (mind you we were now in the Christmas break) therefore took 2 weeks for the valuation to happen and there's still...
Rubbish Rubbish Rubbish
I would give them NO starts if I could. Financing an investment property with Suncorp, because I went through a broker they would not not speak to me. I called numerous times and every time Its the same answer, "Sorry we can't help you!". Couple of times they hung up on me or the line cut out but, no one called me back.
A day and a half from settlement, they asked for a bank cheque for the deposit. The deposit is sitting in a Suncorp account but they wouldn't use that. I had to use a bank cheque, because that was their policy. I had to leave...work and drive 45 minutes to the nearest branch to get it sorted. Then they charged me $8 for the transaction!!! They didn't even tell me that it will cost me, I found out through my bank statement! The stress and and pain they will cause you is not worth it. They are difficult to deal with, and unprofessional. I will be running away from them as soon as I can. Buying a home or an investment property should be a great experience and fun. They managed to cause me stress, anxiety and roughen the experience for me. I’m praying they don’t mess the settlement. I will never ever recommend them to anyone, not even my enemy. Run for your life. I thought I was doing the right thing by not going with the 4 big banks. Boy was I wrong!!!
Don't even think about dealing with this bank
After having a home loan with suncorp we decided on using our equity to purchase an investment property. We were told they weren't going to let us use our equity instead they were going to let us have a seperate second loan for the investment. After being pre- approved under certain conditions which we met in full they decided to reneg on the loan 3 days out from settlement. We were then left to find another lender which meant we had to extend settlement and this cost us 2.5k out of our own pocket. They then had the hid to ask us if we wanted t...o use our equity again to fund the loan. We have since switched banks. Please what ever you do please reconsider using this bank and if they pre approve a home loan be wary. A pre approval does not mean fully approved.
I have been very happy with Suncorp
I don't normally write reviews but I felt compelled to after reading the reviews below. We switched all our banking to Suncorp about 3 years ago through a broker and they have been fantastic. Our local branch team at Lane Cove are very friendly and always helpful. I don't know what everyone is complaining about, I have been with the bigger banks before this and Suncorp feels more personal and the local lending manager makes you feel like a person and not a number. I can call him on his mobile anytime and he always answers or calls straight back or if I email him I get a response within the day. Maybe it is because I deal directly with the local branch but I am a very happy customer.
Rubbish!!! Disgusted with service
we organized our home loan and everyday bank account with Suncorp. I called the bank and asked them to draw our home loan monthly repayments from suncorp bank account. A month later they kept drawing fund from our old bank account which was closed and we got changed dishonor fees by suncrop. When we called them again, they said they could not find any record. They will fix it up and refund the money. On the following month, they draw money from both suncorp account and old bank account!!! Also, we got charged a fee again. This time I went to a ...branch and explained the situation. They said they will fix it up and refund the money. I am yet to see any refund. So, I went back to the branch to find that they closed down. I called the online/ phone banking team and they advised that they cannot do anything because the refund was requested by the brunch personnel and I have to find the staff that I discussed the issue on a different brunch!!! Now, I have to wait three months, if I want to get another home loan. Suncorp said that, they will update their internal record, so I can apply for another home loan with them. I will be moving out of suncorp as soon as I can get a loan with another bank. Terrible service, very high penalty fees.

The most terrifying experience ever!
My property was supposed to settle on the 23rd Dec last year. However, Suncorp wasn't ready for it even though I submitted all my documents on time. I even got my loan pre-approval completed from them. And then the xmas and new year shutdown came. Therefore, the settlement date had to push back until the 18th Jan. The builder sent me a bill and charged interest during this time at 10% p.a. (about $3k). I wasn't too happy about this because I didn't cause the delay and I have to pay up for it. I complaint to Suncorp about their process but they were not willing to reimburse anything.
First home buyer
Absolutely rubbish! I wasn't allowed to give it 0 stars but this is how we rate them.
From not sending all the papers, mistakes in paperwork and just poor communications, the first home loan from this Bank has left a bad impression to a point of being a permanent scar.
It can be a hit and miss so if you're willing to risk it, your call and good luck but for us, never again Suncorp.
I hope someone from Suncorp reads this and takes note.

Bank is good once up and running
Suncorp offer great products however the customer service is terrible from start of the loan to settlement, this included wrong paperwork being posted and lost signed paperwork we nearly didn't reach settlement. After settlement and getting all of my accounts setup correct I have found both the app and online banking no issue other than transferring large amount of funds i.e. car or caravan purchase.
So be prepared to go through a few hoops before getting that great product (Home Package Plus Special offer) low interest rate, no ongoing fees and up to 7 offset accounts.
Good on the surface.. rotten in the centre
Banking products look ok and good value but. The home loans service department are completely useless. First they stuffed up my land loan making it 25 years rather than the requested 30. They linked an offset account on my refinanced investment loan when I asked to not have one. Their lawyers caused my land settlement to be delayed by over a week and I was forced to pay hundreds in penalties to the developer. It takes them weeks to value the construction contract going back and forth with not returning calls and causing delays to settlement. I ...had no confidence that they would pay any of the progress payments on time and will cost me more in penalties to the builder. Anyway last minute just when the builder wanted to start building the house they back flipped on the approval because of a so called problem with the standard contract and we were forced last minute to go to another lender. I'm telling you, stay as far away from Suncorp homeloans no matter how good the interest rate seems, they will cause your construction to turn into a nightmare like ours.
Stay Far Away from Suncorp
Suncorp is the worst, all they do is waste your time with more information requests about documents they already have. I gave them a signed copy of the contract with bold letters on the front "as Executors in the Estate" (deceased estate being transferred to children) only to get back a question a few days later about why the Name of who is selling it doesn't match the owner of the property, in which I told them the same thing. A week later after I extended the cooling off period, they came back to me to decline the application because the Name of who is selling it doesn't match the owner of the property. I have now 3 days to find a bank that can give finance, because Suncorp wasted the other 7 on information they knew from the start.
Terrible customer service
Have been dealing with them in business and home loan for 10 years and am very frustrated with the lack of customer service from the loans department. They won't return email questions or phone calls. They dream up ridiculous reasons why things take so long after promising the world. Basically treat you like a stupid. Don't deal with them.
Never ever want to deal with them again!!
I've got my home loan set up with Suncorp this year.
It has been such a disaster in the past 4 months, when they have my loan amount wrong, interest rate wrong, linking someone else loan account to my saving account, taking money out of my account for other people's loan repayment and ect. Their customer services all also terrible when they hardly return your calls and reply your emails.
Now the only thing I want is refinancing my loan with another bank once the building construction is done for my house.
If you are a current customer with them, vote with your feet or seriously reconsider banking with them. Their over-complicated proceedings and procrastination do not put them in a favourable position in comparison with competing financial institutions. In addition, their arrogance is anything but justified by their apparent incompetence in dealing with home loans, at least. Do not risk your home buying with them - there are clearly better options for banks and brokers!
None, based on long-term experience.

Very good customer service, call centre and excellent website
I have been a Suncorp Home loan customer since June 2008 when i bought my first investment property. I have an offset variable mortgage which provides excellent flexibility. In July 2011 I bought my second property and have my second loan with Suncorp aswell.
Their Customer Service centre is very friendly, and helpful. The website is also excellent and shows my cheque and savings accounts, both home loans, and credit card.
Trustworthy, reliable and good Customer service experience
Recently increased variable rate by 0.1% independent of RBA. But not as money-grabbing as Big Four Banks who I wouldn't touch
Suncorp tried to stuff us about, misplaced paperwork (several times), dealt with many people (they claim that one person will see your account through), delayed transactions, misinformed us about documentation signing and tried to bribe us by offering us money (how often does that happen, so can you imagine how much they stuffed up). Wouldn't bank with them even if the rate was 2% because of the headaches. Dealt with so many managers (probably just a buzz word they like using so they can sound good). If only the investors knew that the Suncorp...staff will be their demise. Must be the Queensland sun that has got to their brains! Extremely Poor Customer Service (the worst I have seen, worse than Telstra & Optus put together. Incompetent staff (even at management level)
Worst customer service ever, cause alot of stress and tears. had to extend loan twice and the third time we asked the seller we were denied all because SUNCORP were just sitting on our application which was COMPLETE they only moved on it in the last few days telling us that they now need a valuer to go out. 27+ days to get to that point!!
Home Loan don't get processed until you harass them
Don't ever go near them esp if you are out of Queensland, The only reason I went was they promised any ATM access for free , but pathetic bean counters changed the rules in six months and now we are struck with them,
Customer service staff are just plain dumb, I would any time go to Commonwealth bank rather than Suncorp. I made a big mistake pls don't ever fall in the same trap.
Mortgage broker handled the process, it was easy to approve everything in the background !
In April they changed the terms of service and started charging for ATM a...
