Love it, love it, love
What a great bike...Just lowered it last week and it sits, looks and rides even better. So much value for money. The clunks in 1 2 and down you get use to and once figured the revs etc, this is the best bike ever. I also modified the rear light to frosted, rear indicators to small ones and number plate under the seat. Now from the back and lowered, this is one good looking!
Had my demo model dark cherry 09 with cobra pipes since my birthday in 2010. I had been quietly drooling over the M109 since they were released in 06 and a bloke at work bought one. Finally had enough of the ZX6 pocket rocket due to the lack of comfort on rides longer than about 30mins. Will never go back!! My first ever ride on a cruiser was gassing it away from the dealership for a test ride. A day later it was mine. Would love to take some mod options at some stage but its just immaculate as it is. Looks like a beast, roars like a bea...st, and handles surprisingly well considering the 240 rear, which is now 250 on mine. Just cant fault it. Had to get used to cornering after being on a ZX6 and scrapped the pegs on several occasions but no harm done. the look, the sound, the power
I have had bikes all of my life - Honda4 - Kwaka750 - 450Duc-Yam650T(really) -GT750-Z1-SpeedTwin - 1000GS-883Sporty-VFR750-and probably a few that I've forgoten - As above, when I saw the 9r I was gone - I did'nt really want to get into a big bike again but justified it by saying "this'll do me" meaning I won't be buying another bike - anyway jobs done and I'm really happy with the bike. Got a set of Suzuki leather bags off ebay - a metcruz seat (with discreet sissy bar and rack and the bike is then a great cruiser - though must admit that I li...ke it raw with single seat only (luggage in back pocket) - I also enjoy pulling up beside those excellent lookin matt black v rods with the fat tyre - then blowin em into the weeds - a bike for all seasons/reasons. PK firstname.lastname@example.org You either love or hate the look of this bike - I first saw one when my son was shopping for his first bike - we commented on the size of the tank before we had a good look at it - after some research on the net I ordered one the next week - three month waiting list then voila!!!!!!!!! in black & chrome = drilled baffles from exhaust - pod filters & power commander - 260metz - perfect Had some problems with clutch shudder after only 3-4K but clutch was replaced by dealer - also problems with rear rotor - again fixed by dealer - paintwork could be better
so dissapointed with my local dealer, twice now they have over filled my bike with oil during routine serviceing. leaving oil too drip all over the primary cover.warranty work takes for ever, i have waited for ten months for my risers to be replaced after first reporting the corrosion on them.as for the bike itself, absolutley fantastic. love riding my bull,short runs,long runs, what ever,she allways puts a smile on my dial.i make up excuses to ride,i have a freind who rides a bull in town,when we ride together we ride hard, both of us are in o...ur 40s and should no better but theres no point having the go and not using it.sport cruising is the go for me, love to race chris vanmulen,think i could give him a fair go.having a bit of trouble finding after market parts to customise my bike here in australia, have been going through the united states for parts with some success,but it shouldnt have to be that hard. i have put 35000ks on my 07 bull in 21 months and look forward too continued trouble free motoring,thanks suzuki for such a fantastic product, ride hard or catch ya later 240 rear 18oocc and kick a.. looks for the price, not real fussed on the headlight of my bull.looks like she got her head stuck in a bucket;
Best fun ever with your trousers on
I have owned and ridden all sorts of bikes incuding Harley Road Kings and modified FXR. The last serious bike that I owned was a Yamaha XJR 1300 the street fighter really got my adrelin going, but nothing compares to the Bully, which I purchased just a few days ago. The Cobra pipes are an absolute must they really make this bike sound like it owns the road. My wife and I took this thing for a ride to York (WA)and as soon as we pulled up and switched it off we were swamped with bike admirers, as a married man I am not qualified to comment but I ...would suggest that a bike such as this for you single guys could have serious pussey pulling potential. Some of you have suggested that the gear box is clunky, big cubes need big gears if this is not to your taste buy a Honda. Solid value for money (Harleys are over rated) Have to work for a living, not enough time to ride it that sucks.
The mighty 109
Had my 2010 M109R since purchased new back in February 2011. The bike is a dream to ride and I'll pick it every time over many other options in my garage. Suzuki limits the fuel mapping in the first two gears for emissions and fuel consumption purposes and this causes a little bit of stumbling if trying to maintain constant RPM at low speeds. A simple TRE device (timing retardant eliminator) solved this issue 100% by using 4th gear fuel mapping in 1/ 2 / 3 and now the bike is superb at any / all speed ranges.
Not for newbie riders, this bik...e is heavy and has serious amounts of power. 0 - 100 in 3.0 seconds on a cruiser is amazing. Build quality is awesome. Having read the one critical appraisal where the chrome fell off, I can only wonder how the bike was maintained and washed. Mine is kept like new, polished weekly and everything looks as good as the day it came home. Couldn't rate the bike any higher. I can't wait to see what Suzuki come up with to replace the 109. It will have to be pretty special to ever beat the 109. Power, fit and finish, overall look, peoples acceptance of the bike and rider. (ie:not a harley) Slight stuttering in low gears die to Suzuki's timing retardation. Sorted with a simple TRE device.
All in all a top bike and I've been very happy with it. I would recommend the M109R to anyone in their 40's or 50's that's over the need for speed and I just know that you would be happy to own one.
Colour - Orange. Love it! The position when seated in the saddle whilst riding is extremely comfortable. I purchased this bike with 2" risers that brought the handlebars back to me, as I am a short chap.
Fitted with Cobra pipes purchased from the U.S. makes it sound and feel good. So much power from the start, but once the Cobra pipes were fitted,...
Owning the M109 LE
My 09 M109 LE left the showroom to come home, brand new through the front doors of the dealership and "guard of honour" line-up of salesmen and onlookers. The first impression is how easy it is to ride in the city traffic. It is true that nothing will drop off or behave in a manner that is unexpected of this powerful and capable machine. The on-road presence is huge. The power pulses characterful and engaging.
Remember this is not a sports-scratcher, but a sporty-cruiser and ride accordingly. Still, a sub-12sec 1/4 means that not many will...
Upgraded from M50 which I loved... and this is heaven
Power to burn.. in low speed zones just plods along in lower gears... in the 100km zone and a slight twist and you are there. On the open road the bike and therefore the body do it easy. The big 240 rear tyre is different but once you work out how it acts its ok ...bike looks great from all angles
The styling is great ... others look and I perve at it. I thought it would be a heavy bike to ride but its well balanced
Got to learn how to treat the bike going from 1st to 2nd and down from 3rd to 2nd to 1st ...its different to anything I've ever ridden .. you have work out the optimum revs.
Just want to ride it every day
I bought a M50 back in May 2011 and loved it, but after sitting at the lights and having a M109 pull up alongside me that was it I had to have one. I was lucky to pick up a 2010 M109 with 4000kms for 10K and have never looked back. It is awesome to ride and to look at, I de-Badged the whole bike and am in the process of putting on some custom gear and just have had the exhaust un-restricted. It would not be over the top in saying that on most rides I have someone pull up at the lights and say how much the love the look of the "Bull".

Looks good when new but that's where it ends.
When I first got this bike it looked great and drove well. The burnt orange candy colour is eye catching. After about a year the chrome finish started peeling away even though the bike was babied and garaged. The engine performance then went downhill accompanied by vibration under acceleration and increased fuel consumption. Then came the clutch shudder and grabbing at take off, I almost collected an oncoming car on many occasions. The bike had all the recommended services only at authorized Suzuki dealers and even though a factory recommended ...modification was done this did not solve the clutch problem. I mentioned the decreased performance increased vibration and fuel consumption on many occasions but no mechanic could find any fault. What a disappointment this bike has been. Good torque, stable at highway speeds even in high winds. Has not broken down....yet. Poor build quality, chrome plating starts to peel away after 1 year. Clutch shudder and grab to the point it is dangerous in traffic, this is apparently a known design flaw. Lots of vibration under acceleration. 10 minute ritual just to check oil and have to strip bike down just to check coolant. Uses 8 liters/100 km on the highway. No colour code to match paint.
Well since owning an 05 softail deluxe & at the same time a 2011 Triumph Scrambler this is a delight! I was very surprised when i picked it up and am a little impulsive..waiting for dissapointment it became apparent that this machine is the BULL! Cannot beleive how comfortable, and powerful this bike is and man i like the look of it! Makes my Harleys ect.. feel almost like a 4 cylinder car...Love it!
cheap,reliable,exhaust sounds good once unrestricted,comfort,looks
This is the most dissapointing bike i have ever owned. No matter what Suzuki dealer i take it they tell me that this behaviour is normal for this model of bike, one dealer said you are lucky you didn't but the m109c
Lack of power, surging in traffic, and clutch shudder, and what is the other half of the throttle for.
What a great decision !!! Buying this baby has literally changed my riding life. After footy and knee injuries, the sitting position is a godsend and you can go for hours. The balance, the smarts, fuel economy is OK considering the huge donk. Low revving and the power curve that stays up right through to red line. I'm 6'6" and 125kg and I feel like the Marlborough man. It's bloody fantastic. Thanks a million Suzuki.
Engine power and torque, super confortable riding pos'n, sticks to the road, stops brilliantly considering weight, good for...
Very good bike when going to far places or travelling. I would rather buy this kind of bike then a harley because its a lot cheaper.
Its very powerful. Gotta love the looks and handling of this bike. Even the comfort is very nice for this bike.
Theres no cons for this bike. Its a perfect bike.
What more can i say this is the new kid on the block the breaking & performance is out of this world
Looks hot fast bike real fast
Checking the engine oil is so hard and also the paint job is poor quality
My husband had a road bike and found on long trips that his legs hurt from the position (he has long legs) on the boulevard he can sit upright with his legs down, rather than bent up high. he states its great for long distance and short distances and said he would not go back to a palin road bike again. there is room for the pillion passenger and foot rests for the pasenger ,which is great.
excellent for long distance driving without squashing your legs, great touring bike
a bit uncomfortable to sit on for too long, and you get wet in the rain.
Love this bike. I did 3500KM in 7 days Sydney to Adeleaide and loved it all the way. I have done a lot of the great twistie roads (Kings highway, Great Ocean Road, Old Road, Oxley, Thunderbolts way, Adelaide Hills Gorge road, and the bike has never missed a beat. If this bike ever drops or I have to replace it ( I have mates on 35000km and the engine is still going strong) I will be buying another 109.
Design, looks, its not a sports bike but you can push it around corners far better than most other cruisers, tons of after market parts, a grea...
