Not happy with the change in forumla
I think the new formula tastes less minty and more sweet. I definitely do not want more sugar in my diet. When I asked the pharmacist all they could say is "its just a new formula and none of the benefits have changed" ?? I will be changing brands.
New Swisse Chlorophyll formula disappointing
Always loved the old formula, travel a lot without eating many vegetables and never got that metallic taste I used to have when going without vegetables for a couple of days. Lovely taste too, very cleansing but the new formula is terrible. Cant get rid of that awful taste, tastes like the metallic taste I have without eating greens. It does nothing for me and after all the years of buying the old product this will be the last one. Will look elsewhere . Very disappointed.
New recipe disappointing
I love this stuff, and went to buy a second bottle for my workplace. They told me that due to complaints about the taste, they have improved the taste. But I LOVED the old flavour. It was a thick, black green syrup that dribbled down the sides of the bottle, and it just felt like this was going to actually do something to you. Like a strange swamp elixir, containing the nutrients of 1000 kinds of moss with hidden powers. A couple of drops in a big glass of water turned it black, swirling about, giving it a dangerous, refreshing edge. I loved sw...igging it down. I wouldn't be expecting a delicious minty treat, just something to help my digestion more exciting than water. I was disappointed to see the light green colour. It's a little tangy and unexciting. If I want a delicious beverage, I'll get a boost juice. I don't mean to be a whinger though, as they are only responding to the demands of the peeps. I just want my swamp sludge back. They could make that their sales pitch.
Here's a trick to improve the taste...
I haven't noticed any huge differences, but have only been taking it for a few days. I too found the taste vile, almost enough to make the stomach churn. But I wanted to share a trick I found - mix it with about a teaspoon of sugar (or sweetener) and a squirt of lemon, in some water, and it's actually quite a nice drink! Lemon and spearmint cordial, if you like. You could even replace the water with soda water, or alternatively replace the lemon, sugar and water with lemonade (not quite so healthy, but inevitably more palatable).

A good product but Swisse need to improve the taste
I was worried about how acidic my body was and had read that cancer and other diseases thrive in an acidic environment. I was also struggling to lose weight and read that the body holds onto fat to protect itself from high levels of acid. I decided to start taking the Swisse spearmint flavoured chlorophyl liquid as an alkaliser. I hated the taste but found I could tolerate a half a teaspoon in a full glass of water and have 3-4 glasses of water throughout the day instead of the full dose in one hit in the morning. This, combined with drinki...ng a green vegetable smoothie once a day, is improving my digestion and bowel movements and aiding weight loss, albeit slowly. I am also working at reducing the acidic foods from my diet as well. The chlorophyl drink is just a small part of my endeavours to achieve and maintain good health.
Tried the liquid version at first and due to the foul taste I found it challenging to drink! Converted to the tablet form & I wouldn't go back! I had foul stools for over a week when taking the tablets, I've lowered my dosage but I've honestly never felt better! I was finding it impossible to drop any weight despite a healthy diet & lifestyle! However since taking chlorophyll I've managed to drop those pesky few extra kilos!!
Swisse liquid chlorophyll is great
I use this supplement every day. It is much more cost effective than some other chlorophyll supplements, as it contains 2000mg of chlorophyll per 100mL - 10 times as much as some other brands. Look out for specials, as this product, often $20 or more, can sell for as low as $9. It has a strong taste, which I don't mind at all. Most of the taste comes from the chlorophyll. If you don't like the spearmint flavoured one, try the harder-to-find berry flavour (Chemist Warehouse stocks it). A product like this needs a preservative - this product contains potassium sorbate. This chemical occurs naturally and seems to be quite safe.
High chlorophyll content (10x some other brands), good preservative
Some people may not like strong taste
Questions & Answers
can I use Swisse chlorophyll liquid mixed berry flavour - expiry dated August 2017 Or should I throw it out.
Dear product review and Swisse reps - I too have been disappointed with the new(ish) Swisse Chlorophyll formula - it is nowhere near as "effective" as the old thicker formula. There are many on this site that have been saying the same but I have yet to see a reply to any of the questions. So.... perhaps we haven't been asking directly. This is a question in the box that seems to imply one will get a response - yes please - I and many others would like to know if we can get the old product back. Over......
Has anyone found a quality liquid chlorophyll to replace the new Swiss Liquid Chlorophyll that is as good as the old Swiss Liquid Chlorophyll please
