Does not work, checked other reviews and many 1* & no backup from Sydney Tools
Recommended in store by Sydney Tools, also has a video online.
Does not function, clearly not of merchandable quality, especially for $99.
Many other terrible reviews of same product.
Tried to return, new, in full packaging & original wrapping, credit card receipt.
Attempted to use only once.
Sydney Tools would not stand behind product with replacement (nil stock or withdrawn) credit note or warranty.
Cannot find Pinpoint, probably own brand.
So others be warned.
Plenty of reputable & better value retailers online or in store to chose from.

Bad service and unfair treatment.
I bought a core drill they said was brand new and working for $1549 cash, the drill didn't work and took it back the very next morning, they said they'll send it away to get fixed under warranty, it's been more than a month and I'm still waiting . It seems they are happy to receive your cash but don't help if there is a problem.
Don’t buy here they are no help with warranty issues
I bought a faulty Mikita product and they have worked against me as much as they can. I notified them of issues 2 hrs after purchasing and returned it within 24 hrs and they have worked against me since

The people at the epping branch are the best sydney tools workers!!! I have lived in sydney canberra and now melbourne and I have never been treated with respect like I did with epping branch! And im someone thats got over 20k tools from sydney tools in the past!

Need warranty to a week or so not 12 weeks
Makita 18v caulking gun issue they told 8 weeks to 12 before look at item. Warranty worth nothing. What do I use in the meantime for work. Very dissatisfying do I have to purchase another gun?????

I Bought a Mikita Tile cutter , when I try to use it , it’s a Lemon .
I took it back , the manager told me that it will take 8 Weeks to be repaired.
But it’s a new Mikita tool , why do I have to go through this ; I said .
He replied : it’s a company policy.

WORST PLACE FOR TOOLS
Worst place you could possibly shop at. I would not recommend shopping here. Workers are rude and disrespectful, they were all on their mobile phones, when asked for assistance they brushed my question off. I bought a drills that broke within the week when asked for a refund I was told that they don’t offer refunds. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Total tools has always been here, but thought I'd try out the new Sydney tools store. Unfortunately my experience has been bad.
For a warranty claim, instead of just replacing the faulty product, I was told they had to send it to Sydney to get it looked at, and would take 3-4 weeks, and they would call me when it was ready to pick up. He also stated he could see it was broken, and he knew it was a pain in the butt, but it was just procedure. Fine, I just went with it.
After 4 weeks I call them back as they havent gotten back to me. Apparently,...
Very bad service, This is my first time and last time to this store
Bought products within one weeks, it fault in first used. Take back ask replacement or refund ( poor quality).
But only offer repair , manager are very rudely. I should read company review before I go.

terrible, sent wrong equipment constantly ignored emails and phone conversations and did not replace the incorrect stuff they sent, Total tools will match & beat Sydney tools, they will give you the service if something is wrong- do not use sydney tools they will steal your money and not supply the goods you order. absolute criminals
3 Months waiting for REFUND
I purchased a petrol typhoon pressure washer that twice failed. First time I took it back after 2 hours of use fouled a plug, After returned to me, the pump actually spat a nut and water came pouring out on use. Video to show. I am going through a waiting period of around 3 months without one phone call from Senior position or email on what is going on. Customer service cannot get through tried and tried. I have rang many times and been in touch with [name removed] senior regarding this matter. Phone call to prove. This should have been refundable immediately i don’t want a problem / repaired item that didnt even see 3 hours of use. Where are you Sydney tools?
Why I unsubscribed from Sydney Tools
I bought a tool from Sydney Tools and returned it the next day as the job I needed it for was cancelled the afternoon of the day I bought it.
It took 45 days, two visits to the shop I bought it from (time is money) and numerous calls to get my money back.
I will never buy from Sydney tools again and will tell anyone who asks of Sydney Tools about my experience.
Why is it that other retailers just refund with the swipe of a card and Sydney Tools 'can't'.
I suggest Sydney Tools need to adopt similar refunding methods, as apposed to holding onto m...

Never purchase from this company!!!
Purchased Xtorque Cobalt Drill Bit set, states that these are extremely strong, damaged the first use when being used on mild steel. Required a refund but they will not honour a refund. Have been dealing with this now for weeks and not happy with outcome. Am not interested in a replacement as feel the next one will damage just as easy. Will recommend not purchasing any further products from this company. We as a company will not be making any further purchases from Sydney Tools. It would have been easier to refund our $99.00
Do not Honour Warranties
Bought a Gensafe 3500 used only a number of times over the period of 12 Months, power stopped being delivered to outlets and ran rough. Returned for warranty repair and was advised it had too much oil inside, and wouldn't turn over and said it was my fault (oil was never touched from new) and it wasn't worth fixing and returned it me in pieces. When it was taken apart I took to another local tool shop and they diagnosed as an internal collapsed bearing. Had it fixed there instead.
After reading some reviews here I now know they are a bunch of crooks. I bought a tool and had to go back 3 times. Firstly they sold me a dinasour jigsaw and even they themselves surprised an obselete product are still in store. When I took it back for a refund they said they have no cash. Offer to pay me back to my account. Money never came back. 3 weeks already

Very poor customer service refused to give refund or exchange on my faulty fan even though agreed it was faulty
We purchaed a industrial pedestal fan to keep us cool over summer. The fan failed causing a large flash electrical short. On return to the store for replacement or refund was told by the manager we never give refunds. The guy was rude. Sydney tools had to send it away to be assessed but the truck to take it for assessment wasn't coming for approximately 3 weeks before it would even be transport back to head office for assessment. Manager agreed it was faulty and didn't work would not replace it or would not give me a refund. Manager said it was...probably my fault that I overloaded the fan in some way... I said I thought the air was the same thickness everywhere and it was just blowing air, same thickness everywhere last time i checked. After arguing backwards and forwards with several staff members on Australian consumer law I left and said I will never buy another tool from Sydney power tools. So no fan, no repair, no warranty. Do not buy from Sydney Tools.

absolutely 100% terrible
While Sydney tools may be the cheapest, their customer support is the worst hands down.
We have recently purchased a concrete saw witch not only zapped me but continually failed to start.
Although taking over two months to look at it, they now tell me that its warranty is void because it has concrete slurry and water on it. Really! this is a concrete saw? !!! with a water point
you will be hearing more from me.... in the meantime i hope someone might honor their product....
Sydney Tools - worst shopping experience ever
Called up and paid for a tool that a I needed for a job on the weekend. They made promises the tool would arrive by Thursday. I waited one more day just in case; called a few times during the day on Friday to confirm it was en route; arrived at the shop on Friday afternoon and there was no tool. They had no idea where it was, apparently the person I was dealing with was too optimistic. Then they got angry when I wanted a refund to go somewhere else. Said I couldn't have a refund, made up all the excuses in the world, except for the fact th...ey hadn't actually given me anything and taken my money. Their arrogance, and they didn't even offer an apology. Couldn't believe how badly I was treated, shocker of a place, and this is not the first time I've had a poor experience, but definitely the last time I will ever go near it. Will continue to tell everyone I meet how bad this place is. Just hope this article helps someone else go to a different store first, before they get burned
