Best I have found for black ants.
Easy to use and effective when used as per directions. I have only had success with black ants where it worked perfectly. Not useful for brown ants. I am still looking for something that does work with brown ants.
Purchased in November 2020 for $10.00.
This is fantastic
used this inside and outside house also in pot plants had great success rate need to place in path of ants
Would definitely recommend this product
Easy to use no mess
Purchased in September 2020 at green shed yeppoon for $11.95.
I had an ant infestation on my balcony and kitchen. They were everywhere. I tried the usual surface sprays which did absolutely nothing unless sprayed directly on to the ants.
I found Talon Ant Killer Gel at Bunnings and decided to give it a try. I put 1cm strips of it in several places both inside and outside. A few ants came to take the bait and I really didn't think it was working. 24 hours later I noticed hundreds of dead ants on the kitchen floor and outside. The unwelcome live ants stopped appearing at the same time and now, two weeks after the first application of the gel I still haven't seen any live ants since then. However I am finding hundreds of dead ones gathered together on the floor every morning so it continues to work.
Great product for the price
I had an infestation of small black house ants in the walls recently. I firstly sprayed the outside of the house with surface spray, as there were ants nests outside. This stopped further ants from moving into the walls or allowing another colony from starting up again. The rest of the nest that was inside the walls, I placed the talon ant gel next to the trails inside the house and allowed the ants to eat the bait until it was gone. I had to use nearly the whole syringe and place the bait for multiple days, but it has rid the ants in my house. Very happy with the product and will use it again.
Purchased in April 2020 for $8.00.
The dogs ********
I've tried all sorts but Talon is the only one that works in a short time and lasts for a reasonably long time. Very easy to use. Good bye queen and your little devils.
Purchased in February 2020 for $8.00.
I have an ant problem and saw the advertisement and bought it to try it out.
If the dogs didn't eat their food the ants would attack the food within the hour.
I would spray with surface spray but they would come back. If I left something on the sink, they would be there. I read the instructions and it said not to leave food around one you put the gel down. So I picked up the dog biscuits and made sure there was no other food.
The ants were gone within a day.
Most effective Argentine ant control.
I’ve had a serious Argentine ant problem for years and have spent lots of money and tried everything. Best thing I’ve ever tried. Applied it to base of wheelie bin, by morning far fewer ants yet coming from further afield!
Best on the market
I was nearly in tears with frustration every single day since the warm weather started as the endless parade of ants marched in just about every room in my house. I have wasted so much money on both chemicals and using natural solutions to no avail. Baiting, spraying, granules it just never worked and the ants always laughed their way back to the nest with any treasures they could find.
On a last ditch effort (before nuking the house) I once again sifted through the net and stumbled upon the Talon reviews. I use this site every time I make ex...pensive purchases (1000 stars to you!!!...easiest research method ever!). From what I read I thought why not? I had tried everything else. I purchased Talon on Friday and by Saturday evening 98% of my annoying visitors were no more! I didn't expect to get rid of all of them (some reside in a bedroom still). However I am counting it as a huge win. I agree with those that mentioned that Selleys needs to make the size bigger (please, please, please!) My kitchen and bathrooms have intruders no more! Very impressed. Super product. Thanks Selleys!
My kitchen was teeming with ants entering through gaps in the window. After I set a few drops along the ant trail and near it's nest, they were gone in a single day! I was so impressed. Still have half of it left even though all the ants are gone. By far the best product I have tried. Even though it's a small amount for quite a lot of money, the amount they give should last a while.
Wish I could give it more stars
WOW, WOW, WOW. I placed the gel around random places in my house where I get ant infestations. I have added a picture of 10 minutes after applying, then a picture of the exact spot 5 house later. For 2 house there were so many ants in my house it was crazy, my carpet was riddled. Then all of a sudden nothing. The next morning I got up and not an ant in site which was super rare, I made my coffee and sprinkled a pile of sugar on the bench, went and drank my coffee and watched sunrise, decided to vacuum the copious amounts of ants out of my carpe...t and when I got to the kitchen the sugar had not been touched and not an ant to be seen. It's been 3 days and I'm happy to report I Love Talon Ant Gel. It was hot today and then we got a Thunderstorm and it's pouring with rain and not even one ant. Couldn't be more happy, I highly recommend.
I have never written a review but always like to read them. The reviews for this ant killer were all positive so I thought I'd give it ago in my garden. I had a large ant trail running between 2 potted plants about 8 meters long. I dotted the gel along the ant trail one evening and by morning, the ants had completely disappeared! It's amazing stuff and super easy to use.
Best thing since sliced bread!
Read the reviews here as we had an ant infestation outside and I didn't want them being an annoyance on Christmas day.
Went and bought 2 packs (there was no way one would be enough!) Well, I used the first pack and in half an hour - no more ants! Still have the second pack unopened!
Works very well on household ants in SE Queensland
We put small amounts of the gel along ant trails and within minutes they encircle it and take it away apparently killing the nest. Sometimes ants of the same or a different type are seen exploring along the old trails and with the application of a bit more gel they disappear as well. Great stuff, too expensive, however, when you can't locate the nest for a good spray with liquid ant poison it is the next best option.
Purchased in December 2018 for $8.00.
The only product that works
Living in Queensland, during the summer we get some serious ant problems. They were everywhere, and repeatedly going into our kettle and dying in there. Nothing worse than offering your guests a coffee only to find ants floating in it.
My wife is adverse to unnecessary poisons, so we tried every natural remedy. Vinegar, eucalyptus oil and even boric acid. Nothing worked.
Then I went and bought some Ant Rid in granule and bait form. The granules did nothing but excite the ants. It made the problem worse and did nothing but leave stains everywh...ere I used it. And the baits? The ants would just go around them and not take the bait. I was at my witts end, almost ready to concede defeat and let the ants win. Then I found Talon Ant Gel and having spent close to $100 on other products, thought I had nothing to lose. I wish I bought this gel sooner. It works instantly. Follow the instructions and put it near nests and paths where ants are. You'll see ants instantly become attracted to the gel, it's incredible to see. They will swarm and go crazy for it (must smell and taste really good). They take the gel back to the nest and bye bye ants. This is the only thing that works. Don't waste your money on anything else, buy this and you won't regret it.
It really works.
The packing is changed to black unlike the photo above. I applied it indoor and outdoor at about noon. The ants were all gone in the evening. Thanks for the reviews in this website.

The only thing that’s worked to kill ant infestation
I was at my wits end before trying Talon gel. Like many others I have used Ant Rid in the bottle and bait format only to watch as my army of ants just marched around my traps. No matter where I put the traps or how small I blobbed the fluid, the ants were never enticed. Next I tried the ant powder, again to no effect (and it caused an ugly brown stain on my windowsill). Finally I used a spray that was supposed to be residual for 6 months. As soon as it dried the ants walked over it without any obvious signs of impairment.
As a last resort I ...checked on Product Review for some pointers and came across Talon gel. I wish this site had been my first stop because it’s worked miracles. I got my little syringe of gel from Coles supermarket, and I’ve since seen it in Woolies too. For just under $9 full price and a little over $6 on special it is a real bargain. I followed the instructions and squeezed out a few small blobs along each ant trail. Immediately the ants were attracted to the gel and off they toddled back to their nest carrying the poison. A week later I’ve not seen any ants return to my bathroom, kitchen or bedroom. After months of battling these critters, I now finally have the upper hand. Thank you to the other reviewers who convinced me to give this a try, and to the makers of Talon for coming up with a product that actually works!

Outstanding product. Instant results
Overall this is a great product. I'm from Adelaide and we have experienced a huge ant influx during Summer. I used ant-rid baits and the ants had no interest. I used ant-rid liquid and it had some effect but they kept coming.
I used this at 8:00am and instantly all the ants were attracted to it. In the first hour the number of ants greatly increased, however by 2:00pm all the ants were gone.
Genuinely recommend this product.
Questions & Answers
We have been poisoning ants in our home with talon ant gel for over a week now, ants just love it however still no sign of any effect on the ant numbers. We have used three syringes so far but the ants are still there. How long does it take before the ants start to die?
My ants died within a day there were no more ants.
I put a little in various locations around their ant trail, so if they missed one, they would get to another.
I guess you need to get to the queen, If you can find the trail closest to the queen I would put quite a bit there and do not leave other food lying around, like dog/cat food etc.
The ants you are battling are probably may be Argentine ants, tiny bronze coloured things, They build super colonies. There are multiple queens in the colony. If your infestation is severe it will take time and patience. Baiting is more effective during winter months as natural food sources become harder to find. Learning all that you can, there is plenty of information online about any pest species online, leaves you better equipped to understand and therefore control them.
