Unhappy with re-delivery / resolved
Had concerns about the driver’s attitude and bad language. Now resolved via mediation. Taxi box staff took my concerns very seriously and addressed my complaint. I will use Taxibox again.

Convenient but you pay for it
Best parts were, drop off & pick up, all the in between just business as usual, friendly on the outer layer but the inner is doesn’t really care much about loyalty, rented for 6 months (that’s a long time for such service) not one ice cream (or small discount) was offered....over all, great idea at a price if you can afford it.

Would not recommend them to anyone - Update
There have been some developments since my first one star posting.
Taxibox has been in touch and a very polite lady explained why Taxi box has issues with delivering boxes just over the NSW when it will happily transport them to its interstate depot in Sydney. The reason make sense but it is a pity that the Taxibox website is less transparent about it’s interstate capability.

Our interstate service works in a more unique way given that it runs express between our facilities and the trucks used aren’t fitted with the same offloading capabilities to make any stops along the way. Great service. Containers a bit small
Great & easy service. Removalists I booked via the service did a good job. The only reason for the 3 star is that the containers were a bit small (my 2.5m lounge couldn’t fit) and I had to organise another service (more $$) at the last minute. I wished I had been told about the containers size restrictions.

Box is flimsy, service was good
Similar to another review here, the box itself is flimsy plywood with fairly rickety posts and siding. An uneven street meant the whole frame distorted and it was impossible to close the box when packed (3 inches out). I called support and they accelerated their pickup and managed to crank the box with the fork lift to be able to close it. Happy with their responsiveness, but unimpressed with the box and security of the box (small latch that anyone with a screwdriver can pry open). TAXIBOXES have been custom built from the ground up after significant research into industry best practice" which is hilarious. The actual box looks nothing like the pictures on their site. Read more Re; the TAXIBOX itself - we can confirm the same TAXIBOXES on our website are exactly the same as the ones delivered to our customers (minus possibly the make-up that was put-on for the shoot!). In terms of its structural integrity, the more common comments received, similarly as in your case, is when the unit is placed on an uneven surface and when loaded unevenly the unit door might need a support with some wedges which our drivers normally level out when on-site. We're sorry you weren't able to close the door yet glad we were able to sort out in short time. In relation to the safety of the unit - again hearing your concerns, but also glad to say we haven't had cases of units broken into on-site after having performed more than 10,000 deliveries. Read more There was no "naked" view of the box other than this and the cold storage one, so I assumed it was a solid box as per the descriptions. I did not load the box unevenly (I paid attention) and there were wedges but the box listed heavily to one side. The top of the door was down-shifted by about 3 inches. Overall the experience was ok, but I would not use the service again.
Storage was fine, I had two Taxibox's stored for around 14 months. Contents were clean and dust free when I opened them and there was no damage. I had a bad experience with the driver & early pickup on delivery of a box back to me - I contacted Taxibox via two separate channels (a direct email and via their website) and received no response to either, so I'm not really sure they care about feedback unless it's positive. Overall the experience was ok, but I would not use the service again.

I recently used Taxibox for my move and chose the 30 min wait option as I lived in a busy area with limited parking nearby. Fantastic ... until it’s time to finish up
Had a taxi box for about a year and a half.
The delivery and pick up was fine. Box was in pretty bad shape - but it eventually closed.
Organised for redelivery (2 weeks in advance) on Friday and recollection of empty on Saturday.
They don’t collect the blankets and was first told I needed to return them to Sydney but after questioning they gave a Melbourne address. What a waste to have to throw those blankets away.
That Monday they took the whole month payment. Not sure why they couldn’t have adjusted this given then notice of provided.
Approx two weeks later I hadn’t received any refund - or any correspondence - so I followed them up.

Read more There are a few points here raised which we’d love the opportunity to respond to (some of which we wholeheartedly understand!): 1. Blankets: whilst they are purchased by customers, based on customer feedback, we introduced a buy-back blankets as many customers had no need for them after the move. This results in very little costs in purchasing the blankets for customers. The complexity we found is that TAXIBOXES are often collected from one customer and delivered to the next and so there’s a logistical challenge with having to collect at times mountains of blankets from different customers and finding a place for them in the trucks as they are already tight for space. This is why we facilitate the refund for blankets by either using our full removalist service or bringing them back to our facility in each of the cities. We’re sorry if there was any miscommunication around this process or which facility to return these to – sounds like a blip that was corrected quickly, but can understand your frustration. 2. Refund / Prorate: The system automatically debits your account on the anniversary date if a customer still has storage. One key reason this is done is that customers sometimes keep their storage units on-site for longer than originally planned (we understand moving can be unpredictable and that things change!) and so we’ve always offered the refund of unused storage periods at the end of the storage term and this is prorated per week. We can see that the team handled this very swiftly after we’d been contacted by you. We’d like to apologise though for our tardiness in reaching out to you initially. We’re sorry that you didn’t have as positive of an experience as you could have had. You’ve raised valid points and we’ve already fed some improvement suggestions into our processes. As a 'something' - we'd like to refund you that week of storage that you've raised as one of your final points. Lauren will be following up with you shortly. Finally – thanks again for your comments. Well organised service but.....
Taxibox are well organised with a good service.
Their prices are reasonable value.
I was happy with everything except the redelivery of my boxes for unpacking.
They were going in our newly paved and sealed bluestone driveway. I was going to put down ply to cover the paving when the truck got there. I went inside for 5min and the truck driver arrived and drove straight in over the paving, leaving black tyre marks were he turned. I was not happy to say the least. Luckily I got the cover on for the remaining boxes to limit the damage.
My advice, leave really clear instructions or you may get the same uncaring driver that I did.

Currently, our process for re-delivering TAXIBOXES is that you’d get an automatic SMS with a link to a tracking tool that allows you to follow the delivery of your TAXIBOX (dare we say, kind of like an ‘Uber’!). If you notify us that you’d like a specific call, we are happy to facilitate this. Perhaps we could look at changing this around so that we can call each customer for both new deliveries as well as re-deliveries, which is something we’ll take into consideration. We’ve spoken with your driver and feel it might be more a case of not seeing over not caring - he didn’t realise he had left the tyre marks (and apologises profusely!). From our end, we’re also sorry for leaving those marks on your new drive and hope it doesn’t put you off using us in the future, if you find yourself once again needing some space. Pretty good.
It’s ok - I love the concept but service has been a bit clunky on numerous occasions now. They aren’t too gentle with the boxes as they’ll tell you either - had a guitar inside one meet its demise recently.

What is the clearance for Taxibox in a basement car park
Hello!
I'm trying to book a Taxibox for moving purposes.
I'm moving from Melbourne to Sydney on the 14th of March.
I'm trying to get a taxibox delivered to my address (on-street parking) on the 12th of March - I'll be on site to receive it.
I don't know my future address on Sydney yet, so I've put down Sydney - 2000 as the delivery address.
When trying to book the taxibox, I get this greyed out box in the "Delivery dates" form, and I can't proceed further. Am I doing something wrong?
