to ask about this was told it's normal for them to get up to 60degrees (uhm what that's super hot) and that they don't have any safety things to prevent toddlers from getting to it.

This was installed in July and was used twice before the oven died at the end of August. It then took 5 weeks for technika service department to send out a technician. Constant promises they would call us back and never receiving a call back. Oven is still not fixed. Disappointed that our building company would install this when the line is discontinued clearly due to an inferior product.

Different model same old tecknika junk. Electrical hazard – Selector switch shorts out, fan forced can no longer be used and must supervise the unit incase of burning smell from electrical components within the switch. Has to be in just the right position or it will just sit there. Show details

So far so good! – Went with this product and model because of a builder promotion. Loved the different functionalities it comes with. It's easy to use and I love the size and simplicity of it. One of the best oven's we've had – Our oven came with the house we bought. Had some issues and strange quirks. Cooks very fast and this was something we have had to get used to. Timer has to be selected to start and stop cooking and also put off as well, even after cooking has finished. Finish is nice and looks good. Overall a great looking upright cooker with supreme cooking results.

2 mos after 24 mos warranty the oven stops working. Technical charges $185 for 30min+$$$parts – Customer Service doesn't care. That their policy. after 24 months warranty, You will have to pay $185 for 30 min service plus additional cost for spare parts. That shows that this product is only good for 2 years after that you may have a lot of headache and high cost to maintain this product. Show details

Unsafe – I have had this oven replaced 3 times due to enamel from the inside of the coming away. And lots of shards of enamel in my cooking. roast and it always burnt. It would overheat very quickly to the point that the clock would go off and things would burn to a crisp within 30 mins even with the oven on the 180 degrees and just normal bake mode (not even fan-forced).

Today I tried once more, only this time after about 40 minutes I hear a lound bang and look to find glass shattered all over the floor and inside the oven. So dangerous!

Do not risk your life with this terrible brand, and if your builder is selfish enough to be using them stay right away.

Only one cooking mode worked now not at all. Digital clock doesn't work – Oven doesn't work at all previous owner of the house had it fixed at least twice that I know of. Don't waste your money on Technika – Nothing but trouble since new. Had service call within 2 weeks as faulty thermostat then a few weeks later a loud bang and sparks during cooking and stove would not work. Repair guy said I was lucky I wasn't electrocuted. Do not buy - terrible – Purchashed oven as part of our new home package, paid extra to upgrade to this model. Clock never worked properly and always flashed, now Multifunction switch has gone. Poor quality!!!! Rusting within a month!! – We built the house with Henley and moved to the house on 15 December 16. We have selected Technika TU950TME8G Upright Cooker and using almost a month now. Within a month cook top and panel to kitchen wall is already start rusting. Poor quality stainless is used. Worst oven ever made – I purchased my oven in May 2011, It came with the kitchen appliances installed in my new house.From day one we have had nothing but problems. Total crap – Broken in 3 years. Computer given up so the entire oven and grill won't work at all. An oven should last much longer. bottom warming drawer has never closed properly and the oven door has always popped open when the oven was on. not mistreated the oven and I find it hard to believe that such a major flaw was not considered a problem.. I could understand if there was a minor problem but exploding glass door is unacceptable and a major issue. Extremely disappointed in the situation and the lack of assistance from Technika.

Horrible Product – Less than two years we have two big issues. Right after it was installed there was the issue with exhaust fan making extreme loud noise. Seriously AMAZING – We purchased this cooker a while ago now and I just love it. The cooking times are so much quicker than my old one. Much easier to clean and the cooking results are sublime. Good Good Good – I purchased this upright cooker during a renovation of our entire home. We wanted our dream house, but most importantly to me I wanted my dream kitchen. This upright ticked all the boxes for me. It had the design and look that I wanted with all the features added. Can't live without it – My husband purchased this upright cooker and cooktop back in 2012. Since the day we had it we have been happy with how the oven cooks and how the cooktop performs. We haven't had any issues thus far and feel like we have made a great appliance choice. It has some pretty cool features like storage drawer/warming drawer and the middle wok burner on the cooktop is a lifesaver as I still have plenty of room for other pots and pans.

I love the size of the oven and cook top so i can make multiple meals at the one time. Wok burner is sensational as its a time saver when making the quick mid week meals. Defrost is my most used function as i prefer this defrost method than a microwave as it doesn’t ‘cook’ any of the meat. Product is a must have.

Simply Amazing – I have had this upright cooker for 2 years and I can honestly say that I have not had any issues. We often cook for extended family and friends and love how the oven is big enough to accomodate. We love how easy it is to clean the inside and glass. It looks pretty good too.  Show reply

Excellent Cooker – I purchased this for our kitchen in 2014. All the burners have a flame failure feature that has been useful when we have had a pot spill over causing the flame to go out. functions than I have found the use for, the enamel interior finish makes the clean up easy. I am pleasured with the quality an overall working ability.

Very happy with this cooker,big family it has never let me down – My food always cooks evenly , it has ample cooking space and is very easy to clean . It's a very sturdy oven with high end features. Horrible product & no customer service! – We had ours repaired when only 18 months old. Now that warranty is out & the same fault has occurred again they won't fix it. $350 to repair it when they know it's happened before! DO NOT BUY from them ever unless you want an inferior product that won't last. What sort of oven doesn't last more than 2 years?!!

Average Quality – We got the Technika cooktop installed by our builder Porter Davis. So far the quality is quite average. Its been 8 months and the rubber at bottom corners of the trivet has already come off. I don't cook often so still don't know what could have caused it. Either the builders should disregard using such average companies or not bother to install one and leave it to the customer.

The oven door is crack open when closed – Very unsatisfied. The door problem started very soon after first using it and we have been using a support to close the door. I took out the door and reinstalled but still the door didn't close shut. Recently the outer glass just shattered suddenly during preheating. Wouldn't recommend this oven to any one.

Terrible Oven - Door problems from the start! – Shocking oven - door has never closed properly! Labels have all rubbed off and Metricon couldn't care less! All the appliances Metricon used are cheap and nasty - especially the microwave and oven. The oven door has been fixed 3 times and still causes problems. What a joke. I would not recommend these products to anyone.

Easy to clean – I use this new appliance for a year now generally it's all functioning well. The flat Stove top makes easy movement for the pots and pans. The oven heat up really well, roasting or baking results were brilliant! I love it most was the sleek interior design for easy cleaning after used. Both thumbs up!

Piece Of Crap Applicances – Our oven and all Technika appliance were included in our house we built with Metricon. Very disappointed in the appliance the microwave door jammed and we couldn't open, the dishwasher button for on/off has broken and wait there's the piece of crap oven. When technician came out the wiring on stove top was all wrong this is a not safe oven and services and repairs should be free. I would never recommend and disappointed the builder didn't research the appliances enough.

I accurately measured the temp of the oven at 376 degrees Celsius (not Fahrenheit) which was hot enough to cause a baking dish to explode sending shards of stuff through the oven. This was also replaced under warranty but same thermostat failed again just out of warranty only heating the oven to 70C and ruining the food we were cooking at the time. A "gesture of good will" saw Technika pay for the repair which we appreciate and are grateful for. Less than 3 days after that repair an electrical termination block failed sending a plume of acrid smoke into our kitchen. Technika had run out of good will and we paid for the repair of the oven selector knob which had burnt out and almost caught fire. The electrician said the design can see a full load on a particular terminal in that block causing it to melt the blocks plastic and told us to turn on the mode selection before the thermostat to reduce the load on the particular terminal. After about a week of use, the same smoke filled our kitchen but the oven kept going until recently where now it will no turn on the elements at all. I feel this unit could pose a significant risk of fire due to poor quality parts and design.

everything seems to be working but no heat. I replaced both elements thinking that would fix it but no, it must be the rotary switch or the control panel that's gone in less than 3 years... Pretty disappointing.

Quality – Built a house & Technika was the brand to install 4 years ago. First time I removed the shelves from the oven & cleaned them 2 years ago I noticed the chrome coming off the shelves leaving the copper coming through. Yes I did use Mr Muscle with a sponge, & no didn't use the green abrasive side but my thoughts were a very poor & thin chrome job… Read more

considering my last Westinghouse wall oven was cleaned the same way many times over 19 years & no 'chrome peel.' Next point.. the rubber/poly pads under the cast iron trivets barely lasted 2 years without cracking & splitting apart. New ones at $10.34 each x 12 pieces is a bit rich. Clark Rubber has something that will do the job however that's not the point.

Other than that it is a good functional oven.
