Telstra 5G solved my NBN problems
I live in an area that has absolutely rubbish NBN. FTTN with drop outs every hour. I recently switched to Telstra 5G on the 400GB plan. I pool it with my mob so get 485GB in total. Its more than enough data.
The combined cost of the modem / data plan is still about the same as 100mbps NBN plan, but is consistently 3x the speed.
I am not a fan of Telstra generally - but I am so impressed with the reliability of this connection
I recommend plugging the 5G modem into a decent nest system (I use TP Link Deco M5), and check you have your 2.4 and...
Read more 5ghz frequencies turned on. I originally only had 2.4GHZ on and was only getting 130mbps. I now have both on and am consistently getting between 300 and 400mbps I watch at least an hour a day of streaming tv, and am on teams / zoom video calls at least 1-2 a day. I am not even at half my allowance and the month is almost over. In relation to customer service... I have always had very very bad customer service from Telstra, even as a business customer. I was so impressed with the customer service at the Rouse Hill Telstra shop. I understand this is an independent store - this may be the difference.- Value for Money

This product provides low cost but very reliable Wifi broadband Internet access
Having rejected the installation of the NBN to my home, I signed a 24 months contract with Telstra for Wifi broadband Internet access. The cost is $29 per month if invoices are paid online or by direct debit. I use the Internet primarily to undertake information searches, a small amount of online shopping and to access my email account. I am not a "high-end" user as I am not a gamer and I don't download music or visual content files (film, video, TV programs etc). The Telstra Wifi broadband is working very well. Access to the Internet and ema...
Read moreil is very fast and documents download quickly also. At peak-use times it is occasionally a little slower, but not problematic. For anyone wanting low-cost Internet access for online searches, online shopping and email access I would recommend this Telstra product. The modem (usually $120) was provided free of charge and was very easy to install and set up. My only dissatisfaction is that I prefer to print out the electronically-received $29 monthly invoices and to pay at the Post Office. For my failure to pay online or by direct debit, I am penalised and charged an extra $1 per month thereby increasing the cost to $30 per month. I fail to see how paying at the Post Office results in an additional cost of $1 to Telstra. This appears to be "fee gouging" for no particular purpose other than to unfairly boost Telstra's income to the customer's financial detriment. At the time of signing the 24 months contract, Telstra failed to advise me of the aforementioned extra $1 charge.- Value for Money

I love this
ever since my dad and i switched mobile phone plans to telstra- it been 10/10 all the way. the service doesn't drop out as easily- probably more expensive than other providers but still worth it overall since the service is great- if i'd known sooner how good they are i would've changed earlier

International Day Pass - Add On - use your mobile overseas for $5 or $10 a day for calls, text &data
Recently went to NZ and used Telstra's International Day pass and it was excellent. Certainly better than a shock horror bill because the International Day pass is $5 per day to use my mobile phone and data in NZ, yes, using my phone and data in NZ was only $5 a day using international day pass. It's $10 a day to use your mobile in other countries if they are eligible and there is a list available for eligible countries.
Here's Telstra's info

The best network coverage and performance in Aus
Mobile service - the speeds obtainable on the Telstra 4g network are fantastic. With 5g to soon form part of their network offering it is going to make mobile usage faster than the NBN. You do pay a slight premium for the product but the quality of network you are paying for is certainly worth that small premium.

Good speed and great service.
I've been with them for ten years. I agree that it's expensive but my wifi broadband gets up to 50mb and if I ever run out it's a 24 got service centre to get more. I am now thinking of changing as 8 GB a. Month is not enough and 15gb is 100 bucks! However for speed and service it can't be beat

Telstra 4G USB + WI-FI Plus.
Amazing 4G Speeds - I encountered some issues when attempting to activate my service online - advised to use the 24/7 help chat. Which I did. The person on the other end of my chat was, not only helpful, but went beyond what was expected to assist me. Most help lines are keen to switch you off if they think they have solved the problem. Telstra insisted I stay on the line whilst I test everything and made sure I was 100% happy. My internet is now flying along and I couldn't be happier. Well Done Telstra.

Nothing to complain about
Bigpond is the best mobile broadband provider out there and I've tried all of them. I've never had a problem with them and it works everywhere, even in the dessert driving across Australia with Good 4G and 3G speeds. I have direct debit on my account and there are never any suprises.

Getting 15mbps in Kalgoorlie Boulder.
I ordered the 4G mobile broadband 15gb a month plan, signing up was pretty simple and straight forward I did it online. I noticed that vodafone is 8GB for $45 and telstra is 8GB for $50 so they are same price, but telstra have a cool 24* 7 Facebook help line or online 24*7 help which is really quick and helpful (no other companies I know has this).
Vodafone also don't have 4G in Kalgoorlie only telstra does, I was getting 3-4 Mbps with vodafone mobile broadband and with telstra/bigpond I'm getting 15mbps which is 3 times quicker than vodafone.
All up I'm very happy with service and help lines, and I really love the Telstra 4G mobile broadband modem it's dual band and touchscreen
