Shocking and Bizarre
I requested information when looking into becoming a coach. Received a call from a chap at the institute who had such a foul mouth. The swearing and f-bombs used almost from the outset was so off putting. He also had much to say about other colleges and institutions that was very negative. Found it bizarre and confronting. Very unprofessional to say the least.
After doing my own investigations found they are not accredited with the ICF but instead their own made up Guild which means nothing. Also found some very negative reviews around cou...
It's all about marketing and upselling--no real knowledge
My experience with them was that it was a total waste of my time and money. All their instructors do, during the courses, is sell, upsell, and do more upselling--no real information, no learning, no knowledge... just taking advantage of the poor and the vulnerable to increase their riches and boost their wealth. I haven't learned a thing from their unprofessionally-conducted courses. 90% of the time is spent on sales and marketing. What's even worse, is that they sign you up for a money-back guarantee if you don't achieve your target from the c...ourses, financially and knowledge-wise. And when you approach them with a claim, backed by proof, that you learned nothing and achieved nothing, they come up with a long laundry list of tasks that you need to perform before you get your money back--if ever! And those tasks are next to impossible to achieve. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
It’s a cult and you will not succeed
I used to work at TCI, the contracts are designed for maximum payment to the organisation regardless of how the student does. Ask to see graduation statistics, most don’t finish what they start, but you can’t bet your last dollar that they’re paying for it.
Totally a cult. They are not interested in you... but your money...
I signed up with the TCI after attending one of there free events. Boiler Room sales tactics caused me at a very vulnerable time in my life to sign up for something that in the end I did not need or want. I lost $4000 plus to these people. All evangelical tactics they use, sure they get alot of disciples. But I now in hindsight realise they do not support their students, they dropped me out of the training. Suddenly no one was contacting me. Do your due diligence and do not sign up with the nonsense discounted rate BLAH BLAH... PS: They will send you so many emails offering free stuff etc... It will overwhelm you. Look elsewhere.
If you want to be a part of a cult, sign right up!!!
The Coaching Institute is nothing more than a cult that manipulates you into signing up for their highest end course. The facilitators and my mentoring coach sweet talked me into being 'ready' for more than the entry level course I initially signed up for. During the face to face FOCS (Foundations Course) students are celebrated for upgrading creating a sense of FOMO for the remaining students. Part of their manipulation to upgrade is telling you it's 'only an extra $269 a month'... what they don't tell you is the term of the repayments is e...xtended by 2 years as well! Once I upgraded I found it was a little harder to get in touch with my mentoring coach, the person who had manipulated me into upgrading and told me how much she wanted to mentor me 'in her own time as she saw my huge potential!'. I am embarrassed and ashamed that I was scammed by this establishment, but I am providing this review to save others from a lot of pain and heartache. Thankfully, despite wasting $5686.25 and despite their ongoing harassment for supposed 'debt' of $9000 I am one of the lucky ones. This company preys on vulnerable individuals. Be really careful!!! It's a cult!!!! They gonna put you in a terrible financial situation
Be really careful!!! Its a cult and these people are buglers!!! They had to refund 970dollars to me and they never did it! [name removed] is just a really bad narcissist they are absolutely not empathetic and they just copied everything from Tony Robins and poor him because this guy has a heart not like [name removed] and her staff. They put me in a terrible financial situation and they pretend to be coach???? Vulnerable people be really really careful and read reviews before paying for them! There are better coach school in Melbourne than the coaching institute!!!
Its upselling and then you get scammed :(
Please BE AWARE!! TCI is a cult-like company. Once you attended a free seminar/webinar they ask you to write a great review.. But, happens next? Then, you sign up for any of their courses and can’t stop the payments for years. You have to pay the full amount of the course ($25,000 AUD average). The only way out is to pay some more or go to Court. If you try to cancel, get a refund or withdraw you are up for bad treatment, penalties, threats, legal action, and debt collectors. They also use bullying and manipulation tactics. They only want your ...money. Do you homework, read the “Disturbing allegations and legal disputes: Inside 'Australia's #1 Life Coaching School”. Also have a look at “ticked consumers” reviews and see what more than 50 people have to say about their terrible experience with TCI. VCAT is sick of hearing from scammed students trying to stop payments TCI say they owe them. Just keep requesting for your refund and good luck!
Beware... it is marketing to spend
The 2 day free workshop is great and can easily suck you in to sign up to very expensive unregulated courses. Matt is brilliant presenter to convince you it is so good. While there is some good stuff, it is all focused to come a “coach” for a living. Wish they just focused a course on self development but no as there is more money they can squeeze out of you to do the 4 levels. I was fortunate to hear and see red flags that a WOW team member boosting to another they gold name tag because they up sold the customer to extra course worth $$$$. The...favourite word is resonates. I hope this resonates to convince another person to avoid this mistake before it is too late. Basically if you’re vulnerable you could get sucked in and be $20K out of pocket with a governing body which is own by them...dodgy
5-Star Reviews From Attendees At Free Workshops - Students Tell A Different Story
All hype on the front end, full of promise and substance.. then, enter a world of pressured up-selling, ordinary content and self-regulated ... ahem... 'qualifications'.
Not to mention the myriad of ongoing financial discrepancies with students
It's no secret that this business has been struck out by the board of NLP, the Australian Quality Training Framework and the International Coaching Federation... So TCI just made their own "Governing bodies"
This is definitely a case of buyer beware
I had the unfortunate experience of hearing the trainer showing off how he had gotten the students to spend more after his course compared with the other trainers. Coaching with NLP can be used to manipulate and this is just what t felt like. I would not trust this institute. Unethical strategies to make students spend more and unrealistic expectations of what they can charge as new coaches with little success in reality.
Danger, danger warning [name removed]
Please, please, please be smart. Do your homework, all these perfect reviews reek of cult behaviour. Honestly people, doesn’t something not seem right here? Alarm Bells everywhere!! They encourage you to write a wonderful review and everyone tries to outdo the other to impress TCI.
SBS documentary Disturbing Allegations and legal disputes inside Australia’s 1 leading life Coaching institute is a must to look at. Visit the-coaching-institute-consumer.com and have a little read of not just one circumstance but over 40 and more and many 100’s ...
Please beware of this company
They will up sell you to higher courses, Which are very expensive and if you don't complete the course you will be paying it off for years.
Or paying for The owners lifestyle
Only 5% of coaches actually make a living from coaching, as I found out listening to one of the very expensive cds that you are given
You think they're sending you gifts but they're worth thousands of dollies that you have to for
Questions & Answers
Hi... will this help me find employment in the industry?
Are you a cult?
The Coaching Institute is not a cult. It is a place where we learn about coaching and how to help people. Call them and talk to them they will explain their courses etc.
No TCI is not a cult! The Coaching Institute is a registered training organisation and Australia's leader in life coaching and leadership training.
Hi there, I would like to thank Matt and the TIC for hosting the amazing course in Auckland this weekend, it has brought up so many things for me and also helping me to release things that I was not able to release prior to the training. It's definitely something I am considering doing. Can you share a list of the participants so that we can connect with each other, I have taken so many business cards but not all that I needed, Thank you once again for the amazing experience.
