Plant arrived with fungal rot
Expensive purchase, plant arrived with some kind of rot, which has continued to progress, and leaves which had been broken off. I immediately tried to contact Jungle Collective via facebook as directed from their website, and was told their "horti" would be in touch within 24-48 hours. After having no response for nearly two weeks and contacting the business multiple times, I ended up requesting a chargeback through my bank. Before this had finalised, the business did process a refund themselves. Overall a very frustrating experience, but I'm glad it has been resolved.
Purchased during online pop up sale. Paid $40 delivery and plants were damaged, one had almost all the roots ripped so the plant was just flopping around at the base.
They were slow to respond to messages and after their "horti" gave some advice they eventually agreed to a full refund with the stipulations that I had to return it to their warehouse during covid lockdown, but it had to be on a certain day during certain hours. No one was there. They're no longer responding to my messages and they're deleting all negative comments off their social from myself and others in similar situations. They've now blocked me
Terrible experience, overpriced and plants in bad shape
Terrible! I ordered online and paid what I thought were fair prices, the plants arrived very young and in very bad shape. The pots I bought were just terracota pots painted with acrylics sold for 25! Terrible experience, definitely would not recommend
Worst customer service and poor quality plants
The only good thing I have to say about this business is that the delivery was quick. Plants were overpriced, hardly rare, and arrived bone-dry and almost dead. Absolutely zero customer service despite several attempts.
Bad service for bad plants - buyer beware
Bought two palms. One has a very bad bug infestation when I received them two days ago. Sent a facebook message to let them know, hoping for a refund/exchange. Their solution is:
1) First they blamed it on transit
2) Offered me a $10 credit voucher so I can buy more plants (this doesn't even cover the delivery and is a fraction of the cost).
3) have a horticulturist explain what a bug infestation is to me.
No recourse and refund nor exchange. I was told to trim the plant. I have said it's most of the plant - if I trim it I might as cut away over 50% of it!
Customer service almost non existent.
Where do I start?...Ordered from the Perth sale 18th April, plant pics looked great online, range ok (nothing rare, just mainly popular or hard to find in WA), prices not cheap probably tad more expensive then bunnings or the local specialty plant shops, free iso delivery. Checking out was ok, I got the 5 plants I wanted and this is where the good stops.
After all the hype I was so excited to receive my plants, finally received a text on monday 27th morning that the plants are coming tomorrow. Went to the shops that afternoon and then got a te...xt - we've left your plants outside. Erm what? Raced back and found them in plant view of the road, on the middle of the path to the front door where it was exposed to the elements. I get the no contact delivery but you can easily still put it by the door or a less obvious spot? On inspection of the plants 3 were ok but one of the larger plants was in bad form, ripped and holey leaves, shape a bit weird as it had been cut back a fair bit, this plant looked like it had better days - seriously not healthy and nothing like what was pictured. The small $10 mystery plant was a tiny dried out and wilted tubestock nepenthes, leaves browning/blackened, which was labeled "rare", didn't even say what variety it was. That night I went to further inspect my plants and you can imagine my shock to see ants crawling in the bath tub, so I decided to give the plant a drink and I kid you not the soil started moving...gross it was infested with ants and little white wigglers (springtails?). Luckily it was the pot with the sad large plant in it and it didn't spread to the others cos they had been in the same box. I had e-mailed them when I first received the plants and then followed up on the insta, no reply so I decided to reach out to them on fb and finally a reply to contact the Perth warehouse directly via web link form. 29th April I get no response, just an e-mail notification that I had been partially refunded the amount for the 2 bad plants. Fast forward 15th May, I checked my online banking last night and my cc statement is not showing a refund from jungle collective, send them a fb dm and called my bank this morning, who let me know there was no refunds pending and definitely nothing from jungle collective. I don't expect much response from [name removed] so I've now lodged a dispute through my bank and have to wait again. I had wait an additional week to find out what to do with the 2 plants, try to save or dump them they said and by then I'd already done my best to save the plants. Lesson learnt the hard way, avoid the [name removed] and shop local. Update - they are saying they did process it and it's the bank, the bank is saying the opposite...doubly annoying ugh!
Avoid at all cost
I have been to one pop up store and ordered online twice. Pop up sale was good, found a few unusual plants and prices were reasonable.
First online experience was fine considering that this was a new business model. Plants delivered on time and in reasonable condition. One had a bit of sun damage and a few had bruised leaves but overall good experience.
Second online experience went down hill. My order missed one plant but I was still charged for it. No refund or acknowledgement of missing plant. There is no phone, email or way to contact them. Only Facebook messenger. Been waiting for a reply and still nothing.
Always stay vigilant even if you have dealt with a business before.
Do not buy! Ignore the hype.
I’m usually so careful and do my research before buying from any new company I find online. I have very few issues and if I do, never have that much trouble getting my money back. So I have no idea why I didn’t do anything before dropping $200 on this SCAM of a company. I suppose because it all seemed so legit.
Being interested in tropical plants especially, the event seemed like a dream. I didn’t even have to go and wait in some long line and fight crowds. It’s all a ploy. The “tickets”, the VIP pre-sale, the FOMO posts. It’s all designed so ...that you impulse sign up and later impulse buy. As a previous reviewer mentioned they are also incredibly deceptive about their plant descriptions. Listing fairly common plants, ones you find a Bunnings most of the year, as rare or “unicorns”. They’re not. Yes, there were a few rarer plants and varieties, but nothing that a trip to a specialist nursery in your city wouldn’t net you. And then there’s the plant quality. Most people who shop online a lot know that you don’t quite always get what was pictured. But you expect it to be similar, of similar quality, of similar appearance. Again, it’s all too good to be true. The plants shown on the sales pages are big and lush. Not at all full grown specimens but clearly well looked after and flourishing. The plants you get? Well, much like most others here I basically got plants ready for the bin or twigs I could barely call a plant. 1) I paid $15 for an ivy that had no roots. It was a cutting stuck in some soil. Obviously, it’s now dead. 2) The most expensive plant was literally a stick with two leaves. 3) And the monstera I was excited about had been damaged and lost two of his five leaves out of the box, and then proceeded to drop the rest over the next week as he grew increasingly worse. It is now dead.
Unresponsive Customer Service Low Quality Plants
Went to a physical pop up sale back in February and had a position experience. Tried the virtual sale in April. Link to the website was not sent prior to my allocated booking. Finally logged in at a later time. Website was clunky and difficult to navigate. Put my order in. Did not receive active communication about the status of my order. Late delivery. Ran out of stock of a plant I ordered. Replaced it with a dead plant. Sorry not sorry note left on my order as opposed to informing me prior to dispatch. Fill in the form to get the order fixed. Have not received any response about the mistake for 11 days and counting. Jungle collective needs to pick up their customer service and plant quality. Thumbs down.
