Contact person was impatient and aggressive
The person called kathy sounded really impatient and aggressive when calling while I was so patient to look for details she need, and it was quick. Did not contact within 30 minutes either and just not worth my time to contact with.
Important to understand what a customer needs - greed is not good.
I inquired about some help to restore some old laptops. I was followed up by a Kathy repeatedly and she was very persistent in calling me. When I finally got to speak to her, she asked me what was wrong with the laptop and I tried telling her what I could but shr didn't really understand the issues I had with it. She just immediately wanted to discuss hourly rates and book in somebody to fix it - was very aggressive to the point of wanting to negotiate on hourly rates.
Whilst finding a solution isn't a problem, if she really understood what I was looking for, she would have known that restoring laptops is a time consuming activity and I was looking for a service that was affordable, bespoke, and was not forced on me.

AVOID at all costs if you value your money!
Please DO NOT use this company if you value your money and don't want to be ripped off! "No Fix No Fee" is a straight out lie and you will be charged an arm and a leg for repairs!
My Sony Vaio Pro Ultrabook needed to be diagnosed and repaired due to the LCD screen no longer working so I thought I'd give this company a go. After an $85 callout fee (fair enough) the technician came to my house and told me the display cable or LCD may need replacing which I already knew. He was unable to do the repair and told me it would have to be sent to the h...ead office for 'assessment'. After spending a further $99 dollars for the technician to do the assessment I was told that the motherboard needed replacing due to a 'power issue' and that it would be $475 to fix. Absolute rubbish... I'm not an idiot when it comes to computers and knew this didn't sound right at all. I cancelled the job and had to pay a further $35 for them to post it back to me. At this point I've spent $219 and my laptop is still broken; after receiving the laptop in the post the keyboard no longer worked as well - so my computer was in worse condition than what it was prior to giving it to them! Dishonest, incompetent and careless technicians - Please avoid this company. I ended up taking my laptop to an independent, reputable computer shop - within two hours and only $30 the keyboard was fixed and was told a new LCD would be $250. I have no do doubt in my mind this company preys on people who are clueless about computers and don't know any better.
They kinda refuse to help!I was trying to communicate with them 4 days! Finally i found another tecnician! They said to me that they will call. me.They never do.I call them alla the time and the answer was ok thanks we will call you.4 DAYS? REALLY? thats for wasting my time!lol
not sure about quote
received one price quote on phone as they like to contact you via phone.
Them when I pushed for email quote, one price jumped from $400 to $700 for same part.
Just wonder what happens when they have your unit then what money?.
Needed assistance with iTunes movie library
From the first point of contact which was ok, it just got worse. They could not come to the house and explained a remote appointment would be needed. I was not thrilled with this, however have worked in corporate for over 30 years and used to using team view and other applications.
I than spoke with the actual technician and I knew more about the issues then he did. Not happy, so cancelled the appointment and returned to Geeks2U who I have been using for a long time, outcome all fixed. The technician called and we discussed the problems. They could come to the house, which was my preference p.
NO SHOW NO APOLOGY
Called company early in week for appointment on Friday evening (8th Nov.). Advised Technician will call Wednesday or Thursday to discuss job. Since not hearing from Technician, called PC Doctor on Thursday to reconfirm appointment for Friday.
On late Friday afternoon (around 4pm), Helpdesk called to say Technician (Michael) unable to attend due to an emergency and needed to rebook to Sunday morning (10th Nov). No show on Sunday. Telephoned helpdesk who said they are an answering service only and Technician will call within the hour. After 3 ...hours still no show or call from Technician. Called helpdesk again, who advised I will receive a call tomorrow (12th Nov.). Next day still no show or call. Telephoned Head Office @ 4pm to lodge a complaint. Told by helpdesk that Technician had tried to call me. Said that my phone call register showed one missed call which I returned (after several attempts) to their helpdesk. The helpdesk was not apologetic at all and made no attempt to rectify the customer service experience. Things can go wrong and a test of a good service provider is to have backup procedures in place. Fortunately, there are many same day providers to choose from.
Warning!! A very dodgy company
The policy called “no fix no charge” turned out to be a trap. They will charge you regardless( minimum 120 bucks).
My speaker was making clicking sound. After finding out my computer had a hardware fault, the technician made a diagnosis of water spillage without opening the computer. He suggested to upgrade the system or reset it. I said no, which means denying the solution offered. So they can charge you.
After I made a complaint, i was told that “you could be double charged for one problem, if the computer cannot be fixed the first time!!”

Do Not Use This Company
Initially they fixed my laptop only for it to break down two weeks later. They offered to repair it again which took over a month only for it to break down again two weeks later all the while not detailing me with an invoice or any information regarding what was wrong. Upon offering a third time they took the 99 dollar service fee for a technician to come pick it up and spent it on a courier service with terrible reviews that I couldn't contact instead which I quoted to about half of what I paid, all the while blaming it on my poor miscommunication. Extremely incompetent and unprofessional do not use this service.
Overpriced and pushy
Felt like i was being probed by a telemarketer, then the technician would not stop trying to up-sell me.
Money hungry and just trying to get every last penny from me the whole time.
The reviewer stated that an incentive was offered for this review
Can’t get the basics right
They reinstalled windows, set a password which I never had before - did not tell told me once the install finished it would require a restart and when I restarted I could not get in as I did not have the password so locked out of my own pc and they could not get the tech that had just left
Did not properly fix issue and worked slow to bump in an additional time block
The Original PC Doctor have a 14 day guarantee. My issue returned after 25 days so not covered by this policy. An identical issue to the one they solved, meaning they did not fix it.
I had them come to me and they charge by 15 minute intervals. The tech intentionally dragged his feet "fixing" the issue to bump in to the next 15 minute block.
When I called to report the issue was not fixed, the person on the phone said it's outside their guarantee but she'll happily re-book the tech to attend at the usual rates. No thanks.
The worst company to deal with
Upon the rating at first glance it appears this company are trust worthy. People should read the negativity left from people whom have had the pleasure of dealing with PC doctor, and how very similar their feedback is, it's almost back to back with how many people have had a nightmare just trying to get their PC's back, over a month isn't acceptable. It's a shame that their positive "reviews" aren't carried out to all customers.
Dropping my PC off I did initially think the service was welcoming and felt at ease.. that is where it stopped. I ha...d to force them to give back my PC before they destroyed it further. This company is a nightmare to deal with, the lack of communication is appalling, your PC won't come out the same, it'll either have more problems if you're lucky to get it back. They take zero care in pulling apart your computer an damage the outer casings. Not only that you wont to get your PC back for a minimum 1month It baffles me how long it takes to diagnose an issue, an they don't keep you updated on anything! By far the worst company to deal with!
Left my laptop in worse condition
Do NOT use the original PC doctors. They took my laptop for a month and retuned it unfixed and more broken. Throughout the month I was chasing them up, trying to find out where my laptop was. I asked for a replacement laptop whilst mine was being “fixed.” They not only gave me one that didn’t work, they tried to get me to trade it for my laptop - at a cost to me! They handed the laptop back more broken (speaker cables torn off) and didn’t process my refund for weeks. I had to chase them up twice for that too. They’ve offered to assess the speaker issue and potentially fix it. It couldn’t have been anyone else! The customer service has been terrible as well. Buyer beware.
After 6 weeks still I could not get my laptop back
They took my son's laptop on 1st May 2019 Job no.188792 . I have paid the 493.65 dollar on 7th May and prior to that the guy who came to my house to have a look took around 100 Dollar ( cash and can't exactly remember the amount) I was told that it will take 12 business day . Today is 12 of June 6 weeks from 1st of May and 5 weeks from the day of my payment. Still the job has not been completed. I have called them several times and they start with some non-sense talk ( li...ke " I have not paid" or " I have refused to get it repaired", etc.). I found that the customer service staff receiving the call does not have access to the information in relation to the case and I also doubt on PC doctor's technical efficiency.
Sad to say have to change my original review as started off thinking they were great but don't think so now. Promised a discount which was not honoured, have asked several times now and not been refunded and discovered 3-4 days later that computer was not fixed. Tried to get it sorted in the call back time-frame which they claim to fix no charge and never got it sorted. Have resulted in getting rid of computer and buying new one. Be wary as the service seems great to start but can result in still having prob... with computer, which in our case paid to fix and did not occur. End result disappointing!!!
Had a very nice tech come to my home, but was unable to fix my laptop, but it still cost $250. Their “fix no fee” policy does not apply to me, which I truly don’t understand. So now I still have an unusable computer, but John Pitito the director of PC Doctor, with a gesture of GOOD WILL has offered a $50 refund. If this is what this big company can do to me, taking a 3rd of my weekly wage with no second thought, it your choice to use them. Me I am sooooo very disappointed and feel cheated.
AVOID at all costs!
The service from the beginning was appalling. I had a USB stick which was damaged and needed to get the files off it. After calling a few different companies with around the roughly the same quotes on price and time I decided to go with The Original PC Doctor, as they had told me they were one of only 3 companies in Australia who had access to the software which could extract the data from my damaged USB stick. The other companies has been very up front about having to send off the USB stick for repair, but still came back with the same time fr...ame to do the repairs. The Original PC Doctor could do it on site at their Ringwood location. I initially spoke to someone who turned out to be a tech person, who quoted 3 days for the repair and between $500 and $800 (worst case). So I drove over and put my USB stick in, after initially looking at the USB drive and noting that the physical appearance was in good tact compared to most of the cases they get in, I was asked for a $130 to run the diagnostic tests on the stick. Noting that the guy at reception was great, polite and helpful. I was happy to pay up and then I would be called with a quote on full repairs later (my impression was later that day). 3 days later I called to see where my USB was at and I was told that it hadn't been looked at and that I would be contacted when the repair team had the chance to look at it. Being sensitive and urgent information on the USB stick I asked when this was going to happen as I was under time pressures. I was told within the time of 5 business days JUST to tell me if they could get information off it and a list of what documents could be recovered. I said I was quoted 3 days to do the full repairs and return it to me. They played the dumb card of "Oh I don't know who told you that but this is standard turn around time", despite telling her exactly who has quoted me that she was adamant this was normal. Frustratingly I gave up and said I'd wait the 2 more days. 2 days passed and I hadn't heard anything from them, so I phoned again to see where it was at, I was then told it was 14 BUSINESS days to run the diagnostic test to even see if they could get anything off it - no repairs whatsoever at this stage. I told that woman the previous womans name and that she had said 5 business days, and that initially I was told 3 business days to fully repair as I was taking it "directly to them and they have the technology on site" blatantly talking themselves up. I told them not to worry and I would collect my USB and take it elsewhere and I wanted a refund, all of a sudden my USB went from "Hasn't been tested yet" to "Currently being tested" therefor it couldn't be removed without potentially corrupting or losing any data that might be on there, blackmail at it's finest!! I said I was in a rush and if they could please hurry. After 14 BUSINESS days and multiple phone calls in between they were still working on it. Absolutely fed up with them holding my USB because it couldn't be stopped during the testing (that lasted longer than an effing week), I had given up. Was called and told the USB would be $1,200+ to repair (regardless of the fact that it was in great physical shape and I was told the top end repair cost was $800). I nearly cried, out of not only frustration but the pure disregard they had in relation to their own empty promises and complete lack of professionalism handling the situation. I told them I would not be paying that I would collect my USB, their response "oh but you get the $130 off the repair from the amount you've already paid, you might as well do it" literally tried to coax me into paying the exorbitant repair fees which I suspect they made up anyway as when I asked why the cost was so high compared to the initial costing they couldn't explain other than the extensive damage to the USB stick (load of crap). Picked up my USB stick, felt bad for the poor bloke who worked there, as he himself had said he was applying for other jobs trying to get out of there, which is never a good sign. I never actually received a list of the documents that could be recovered which is what I paid my $130 for, asked for a refund, said it wasn't possible because they had already run the diagnostics - but got no results and had nothing to show for it? I don't understand what kind of scam they are working on, but I am so glad to see the last of them. I am a pretty tolerate person, but after weeks and weeks of agonising dealings with these people all I can say is stay the hell away from them. They are nothing short of scammers trying to get more money from people and lying the whole time. Took my USB to one of the alternate repair places, had it back within 5 days (not business) despite them sending it off site, and fully recovered all the documents for less than $500, this further proves The Original PC Doctor are a complete rort.
No idea what they are like as no reply to either request for a quote
Their webpage states "If you are experiencing any problems with your technology please enter your details below and one of our helpful helpdesk staff will contact you back in 30 minutes or less."
It is now 18 hours since my first contact with no reply and approximately 3 hours since my second attempt. Obviously not interested in the business. Will find someone who is.
I did not like this service
I felt very exploited. They had my computer for over a month, kept telling me there was something else wrong with it. I paid extra with the guarantee it would be ready by a certain date, they did not do this (I needed it for work). I paid a lot of money..
My advice (if you have the time) - find out what is wrong with your computer, buy the part yourself and fix it for more than half the cost and time.Or go to a local, smaller run computer business which has more time to communicate effectively and invest in your computer.
I think this busines...
