Doesn't last. A problem model – Bought a Thinkware F770 4.5 years ago. Roughly every month it wants you to format the memory card which is a pain. Then at around two years it just stopped working. Had to write a letter to them reminding them that even though it was out of warranty, consumers are protected by Merchantable Quality which the F770 clearly didn't meet expectations.… Read more

They agreed to replace it. Now the replacement has packed up as well and I'll have to argue the point again.

I have a Thinkware F200 in our other car and it's been working fine for nearly six years.

Thinkware F770 Dashcam Is Not Fit For Purpose – I have been having problems ever since I had a Thinkware F770 installed in my car in late 2018. Shortly after the F770 was installed my car was parked outside for about 20 minutes and then I drove 10 minutes to go home and the F770 kept restarting over and over again all the way. I spoke to Autobarn and they said it could be the supplied 32Gb… Read more

Thinkware SD card so I replaced it with a suitable Sandisk SD card however this problem continued. I rang Thinkware and they said that it must be too hot for the F770 and if that is the case they should not be selling the F770 in Australia as I do not even live in an extremely hot area. Also the F770 had a message that said something like 'entering protective mode, system shutting down' and the Thinkware rep did not even know about that message at all. Frequently I find that events are not on the SD card as any recordings stop about an hour beforehand whether they are continuous recording or parking recording. Parking recording refuses to start and says 'shutting down due to the low battery' but it has been doing that for years. The F770 runs most of the time so I would say the internal battery is fine it is just that the Thinkware F770 is garbage. The video quality is poor too because you cannot even read car number plates. Next time I buy a dashcam it will not be Thinkware.

Good unit but continues to drain battery even though app settings are as recommended by Thinkware tech supply – Flattens main car battery overnite whilst in park mode. You can touch it in cool of morning and it’s hot like excess amps?!? Settings are as per Thinkware text book Show details

Died just after warranty expired. Had to spend 1/3rd of the price on having the main board replaced. Avoid thinkware – Had the camera for a little over 2 years One day went into a reboot cycle stating the front camera couldn’t be started. Called their help desk - told me it was an SD card issue - tried my wife’s thinkware branded card - same issue. Sent it away - main board failure - ended up costing 1/3 of the price of the camera to get it fixed. Won’t buy again Show details
