Dodgy insurer - I wouldn't recommend it even to my worse enemy.
Do not buy insurance policy from this insurer. They should call themselves "Dodgy brothers insurance incorporated.
Last year I booked an international flight and on the same day I purchased Travel Insurance policy with Tick travel insurance. Due to corona restrictions my flight was cancelled and despite my best efforts I was unable to refund my money vie travel agent.

I got travel insurance but due to the virus the flight got cancelled. I called them today to get a refund or a credit but the lady there said they can only give me a pro-rata credit.
at the very least they should know what pro rata means. when we used part of something then we can pro rata that but not when it has not been used and it is still a couple of weeks away.
I do not know if this is an australian company or not but if it is then what they do is unaustralian but I do know it is unprofessional.
I am now disputing that money through my bank and if there is any justice I will get a full refund.

Give Tick the flick (before you get sick)
Please, please, please do some research and don't just choose 'Tick' for insurance thinking that all the cheaper insurers are the same. They are not; some (like Tick) are worse than others if you have a problem. Reviews that only focus on cost are a waste of time because everyone is happy with a cheap price but crunch time comes when something unplanned happens and you are avoided like that annoying, awkward relative at Christmas lunch who nobody wants to go near.
My dealings with 'Tick' via email left me with a collection of cut-and-paste ema...il responses that did not answer my questions and basically fobbed me off without a chance of any compensation. It's not about the money, it's the principle that 'Tick' can just swat you away like a fly. Also, check MAPFRE's other company 'Insureandgo' (even on the UK trustpilot website) and you will see reviews similar to Tick's. It's amazing that 'Insureandgo', like 'Tick', has a few really, really, really, fantastic reviews while most of them are very, very, very poor reviews. The positive reviews focus on cost (yes, we all love bargains) and the negative ones focus on service. Which one matters more to you if you are sick or injured overseas? Do. Your. Research. Cancelled our trip and policy due to Virus. Requested a refund but Tick chose to stick to their cancellation policies no matter what. Basically took our money and ran, not even a offer of a rain check.
Rip off insurance Company
This company refuses to give credit for future travel when I cancelled due to global health crisis. Airlines, tour companies, air b&b were honourable with giving us credit. Time for a class action against Tick Insurance!
Sorry I changed insurers
Purchased policy for travel after seeing cheaper prices, however that turned out to be a very costly mistake.
After making a claim, they told me the reason they would not pay, and that reason was that the destination of my travel was listed as do not travel, well that is a lie, straight out. It never was.
Then they offered a 2nd reason after I pointed out there lie, a fine print section that in short said you will not be paid. The emergency cash is limited to their definition, and their definition is so narrow it will never ever be met. Basic...
Ripoff insurer. Covid virus..so my airline refunds me the fare. My Tick Travel Insurance? oh no, we have your money. Go away!!!!!!! Incredible response in the circumstances. Will never use again.

Booked my travel insurance with them for my trip to Japan in May. Trip cancelled through no fault of our own. Asked for a refund. They said NO. How businesses treat others during this crisis will be remembered after the crisis has passed.... ie we won’t be back!
Poor Customer Service
I tried to reschedule my insurance today as it was no longer needed due to corona virus but got told by customer service rep that I had called the day before to confirm I needed it and it is now too late. Considering I was at work the whole day and have no recollection of doing this they assure me I did, however they can't tell me when I called, who took the message or why I would need insurance for a trip I had cancelled five days earlier. Tried to speak with a manager but they were all too busy so I'm not expecting any joy from this mob.
Price is pretty cheap but you get what you pay for I suppose, I won't be using them again and can't recommend them as an insurer.

Travel insurance - change of date
I recently purchased a travel insurance policy for my trip to Bali which was recently postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. I contacted them to change the date and there is nothing they can do for me. I don't want a refund, I just want to change it to a future date but I don't know when that will be at the moment. I received credit for my flights and accommodation at late notice so can't understand why Tick Insurance can't do the same due to the circumstances in the world at the moment.
quick no fuss well priced
Went on a cruise febuary and found that noumea requires that we carry health insurance or we may be denied into the country something new.We shopped around and took out Tick very simple and cost effective for our needs.We had no problem at all.However when docking at noumea a guests was been put into an ambulance and we heard that the ambulance and hospital would not accept her until they had clearance from her insurer.This made us very happy that we did take out the policy.
You'd be crazy to travel without insurance
Seems like Good value and was easy to establish. Haven't made a claim and hope that we don't have to. First time user. Had to email them regarding incorrect date of birth and heard back quickly

Fast, economical insurance
Tick basic insurance is perfect for healthy people. We have used it many times. It is easy and fast to organise.We have not had to claim as yet but we feel confident there won't be any problems.

Tick insurance is very good value and easy to set up. I have not lodged a claim and this is our first time travelling with this company. Communication was excellent.
