Never Again, Policy effectively Worthless
Bought policy and have used them some 7 times but never made a claim. Unfortunately, my trip was cancelled due to lack of numbers and consequently made a claim for my airfares and hotel accomodation. My travel provider gave me my deposit back and Singapore airlines refunded all taxes and admin .charges. I made a claim on the policy and provided all the necessary documentation. Told it would take 2/5 days.Then the fun started and I spelt a rat, no response, so I stared to chase things up ,but was fed information was going to assessor, then la... Read moreter management . I kept querying and no immediate answer. After feeling frustrated I sent off another polite and accomodating email asking ( 14 March 24) for a time line or asking if my documentation was sufficient or lacking. This afternoon , 15 March 2024, I received an email with an attachment dated "26th February 2024' rejecting my claim under certain provisions of the PDS. Simply you need to be either dead, accident, family death....... before any payment. It does provide for cancellation even though the Web sign up provides the appearance of cover. The lack of professionalism and business practice with regards to timing , what was the hold up, I made many enquires but you left me like a cat sitting on a hot tin roof. Never again with Tick Travel Insurance and as we all know with car and household insurance the fighting one has to do is endless to make a claim. After many months/years many unfortunates never have a satisfactory resolution. I have learnt my lesson but I hope my experience will educate others of Tick Travel Insurance.

I would like to make travellers aware to stay CLEAR fromTick insurance as im not sure how they have so many positive reviews as that was the reason i purchased this for my partner .It's been 7 months since a claim have been lodged and then to be rejected .
This claim was due to my partner sons sudden passing whilst my partner was overseas for her to return asap .
The claim the she lodged was under Tick insurance Cutting The Trip Short .

Tick insurance always gave a positive vibe through this 7 month email process until they found a loop hole and rejected the claim and not really sure why . This claim was only a 1 way early airfare claim no accommodation no vehicle hire etc just a airfare worth nothing to Tick but alot to my partner with ongoing funeral costs . So that's why I recommend not to take insurance after reading glossy reviews best on recommendation through someone you know . I will make sure not to recommend Tick to anyone .And finally I'd like to say that other relatives had no problems claiming through their insurances with the same claim .

Avoid at all costs!! Worst customer service ever. Had an issue and wrote to them three times and all emails/correspondence was ignored. Just as well it wasn't an emergency or else I would have been in a bind. They simply don't care and did not apologise for the poor customer service. I will never use them again. Tick Travel Insurance is useless. My flight was delayed then cancelled due to mechanical issues. But the insurance didn't cover the expenses during the delay period because mechanical issues is not covered.I wasted $120 this time. But I save thousand of dollars in my future travel.

I got Tick Travel Insurance because it seemed good value. I went on a trip to Thailand for a month and got very sick on the last week and ended up in a private hospital where the wanted to operate straight away. My return flight was the next day so refused even thou they said I was unfit for flight.Once I got back to Adelaide I was in RAH within hours of arriving and was there for close to a week.
If I stayed in Thailand after reading all the conditions and loophole I would have been up for thousand of dollars.

I lost or my Ipad or was stolen between Dubai airport to Sydney . When we got back to Sydney we realised it was missing .We took out tick insurance in good faith that if anything happened we would be covered . After countless requests from tick to send them information regarding our flight , which we did on numerous occasions. It was nothing more than tick insurance trying to stall payment . In the end they refused to pay because we had not reported it to the police . Which police were we so supposed to report to it to when we don’t know where it was lost or stolen !! Travelled to USA and Canada in May 2023 and unfortunately sustained a back injury requiring emergency surgery in Vancouver. That also meant the need for a lie flat seat for journey home.We had to pay upfront for the airseat as the small print says 'reimbursement policy'. $15k as it was short notice. This company charges excess by person, event and section of policy. For one claim - death of a family member causing my trip to be cancelled Tick travel insurance charged the $200 excess four times - for me, for my partner, and for aspects of the claim in different parts of the policy - for each of us!! I was asking for claim information when I was still on holiday. I emailed them through the emergency channel. I asked if I was covered for an uprade on the plane as the doctor advised me to keep my foot up after I had fractured my left foot walking out of a boat onto a dock. I received a basic answer back when I was already back home to send in all requested documents and they will look into that. I worked in insurance before so it is probably and automated script :( well a little to late!They tried to resolve the matter. 3 months later still not resolution and lat time i heard from them was 3 weeks ago. My husband and I experienced 24 hours of severe travel delays and emergency expenses because of this with our 1 years old daughter in tow while abroad in Europe in September 2023. I took 2 policies over 3 month period with tick insurance for a 3 month holiday. I took out my Sim when travelling to Canada.. We traveled to Bali on way back to Australia and ended up in hospital for 7 days and they won't cover me as I didn't take it out in August. We picked them because they were cheap, had good reviews and had covid cover included. When we had to cancel because I got covid we had to fill in form after form etc. which I get, they need evidence but then they declined to cover our costs for rebooking which was around $600.
