A Total Disgrace
The break and enter to our home was difficult enough to deal with. What transpired over the next three months was nothing less than appalling and way more traumatising than it ever needed to be, with extremely poor management by the insurer and their choice of repairer who offered the worst imaginable concept of employee engagement, works delivery and communication with ourselves. Total contempt for the homeowner on all fronts by both the insurer and their allocated repairer. The first month was spent by the insurer valuing the extent of the ...repair job and then deciding on engaging the repairer of their choice - something I would not encourage a homeowner to allow for in an insurance policy agreement. Six weeks after break in we were advised that the window frames and glass had been ordered but had not arrived in Darwin. Then we were asked by TIO to pay the $1,000 insurance claim fee to the repairer, as well as copping an 18% rise in cost of our premium after more than five years with no house claims made by ourselves. Another month went by and works commenced late in April, some two months after our claim was presented to TIO. Another month transpired and the job was finally completed mid May. I complained in detail to TIO about the conduct of the employees assigned to our job by the repair group chosen by TIO and it had very little real interest in return from any party, TIO included. No interest was shown in follow up after the job was finally completed, or expressed by TIO, as to want of customer review or satisfaction of the delivery and quality of the important works undertaken at our home, or for anything else at all. The only correspondence received by ourselves after job completion from TIO was a short email to tell us that “all requirements were satisfied, the claim is finalised and we will now proceed to close our file”. Well, that is their opinion, after all, they are the insurer. We are just the homeowners. We are now seeking another insurer.
Very Greedy company
Had a very disappointing phone conversation with TIO regarding an issue that happened to my house in Darwin and I thought I would see how other people reviewed this company.... And guess what, the first review I read was identical to mine........"Two close identical issues on the same pipe in a very short timeframe apart are counted as 2 issues and thus 2 premiums to pay...no! That's just greedy. Not what I'm paying for"... Would not recommend
