Overall a good idea for a nappy disposal system however the cost of the refills and the constant need to empty the bin due to its size drives the rating down for me. I have read of one disposal system where you can use your any bags so would probably look into that one if i could go back.
Easy to use - just pop the nappy in and swirl the twist lock and it locks in the nappy and shoots it through into the bin. Nice modern design bin so suits any nursery.
The refills are quite expensive however i got my last lot on special from big w for $45 for ...
This is one of the first baby items I really wanted however I'm not sure I would have brought it if I had realized how much the refills cost. I'm not sure why they cost so much when they are technically just a long roll of plastic bagging. I'm sure a lot of people give up on using it once they see how much the refills cost because there are always heaps of these bins for sale cheap on gumtree and ebay. Despite this I still like the product, it makes the disposal of nappies much neater and nicer.
-Seals the odor and mess in.
-Sounds odd but kin...
This is a useful product for holding all the dirty nappies and containing the smell (especially when number 2s get a bit messy!). The only disadvantage is that you can't really use it until after you've finished with the baby as you need two hands to hold & twist.
Refills are very expensive and I found I go through around 1 cassette in less than two weeks - so keep a lookout when they go on sale and stock up (Target or online).
Contains the smell.
Easy to empty and refill
Refills are very expensive.
Need to use two hands to twist & lock
I only used this for dirty (ie 'number 2') nappies and not wet nappies. This means it does not need to be emptied so often and does not use as many of the expensive refills. Otherwise I think we'd be broke buying the refills so often! It's only really the dirty nappies which stink so i recommend this approach. The bin works well and I would recommend it.
Contains the yucky nappy smell and is easy to use.
Refills are very expensive. If you forget to empty it once it's full, it's not quick or easy to do while your baby waits!
It's an OK product, though I am not sure I would buy it again knowing how expensive the refills are and given the fact that we have biodegradable nappies but they are now wrapped in non-biodegradable plastic. Doh!
- Really does contain the smell
- Fits quite a lot of nappies, so don't need to empty the bin all the time
- Easy to use and refill
- The refills are extortionately expensive - something like $55 for a pack of 3, which you go through reasonably quickly when the baby is still small. We always wait for the Baby Bunting sale when the...
I wouldn't purchase this product again. In fact I wouldn't purchase a nappy bin ever again. We change our regular bin every morning, so its pointless having to empty two bins. Its a lot easier and safer to just use a nappy sack, then to bend over whilst bubs is on the change table and use two hands to open the bin and then put the nappy in an spin the top to seal the nappy in. Also I find it hard to get the refill cassettes anywhere.
Holds a lot of newborn nappies, contains smell for about 48hrs.
needs two hands to use, which is a pain when you have baby on a change table. Low to the ground, a bit annoying when your tall. Sometimes the nappies stack on top of each other rather than evenly in the bin, making it hard to put the next nappy in.
