The Proxes T1R tyre - hot stuff – As I cannot get this size in Australia (go figure), I have to buy it from our ANZAC brothers in New Zealand. No big deal, they post. But not this size in Oz. Why? Size: 195/55/14 I love these tyres for that reason especially. BTW: They are for my 1992 NISSAN Pulsar N14 SSS Oz, Spec. I've owned it from brand new. Show details
A Relatively Ok Performance Tyre, If You're On A Budget – I own a BMW 1 Series hatch and a set of these tyres were installed by the previous owner. Over the course of seven years, they've travelled approximately 35,000 km (give or take). Some things to point out. - The tyres are reasonably good for wet weather, however they tend show a bit of a weakness if the roads are too wet. (they tend to make the… Read more
car drift slightly) - After 35,000 km and seven years of service, they have produced a terrible tyre roar that makes it sound like the bearings have gone wrong. - Dry grip is excellent with no noticeable loss of grip to be found.
It seems after being accustomed to these tyres for some time, I must part ways with Toyo and move towards Michelin with a set of Pilot Sport 4's all round.
If you're looking for a mid range performance, don't write these tyres off. I just wouldn't recommend using them for the same amount of time I have as they will start to turn brittle and road performance isn't guaranteed.
Great all round tyre. Worth paying the extra for safety! – Recently purchased 4 of these and so far so good! Grips well in all conditions. Excellent handling in the hills and on long trips on country roads. Purchased in a buy 3 get 1 free deal so can't complain. I have only travelled approx 10000km's and still plenty of tread! Great Handling and Long Lasting Tyre – The Toyo Tyres on My Mazda 6 have travelled over 64,000 kilometres and still have enough tread for another 5000 Kilometres according to the Tyre outlet that inspected them. They still have good grip and I will be looking to change them with a new set before winter sets in. Show details
Great Tyres at a great price – Recently purchased 4 of these and so far have been a great tyre. Grip in both dry and wet is excellent and Car handles great around corners and roundabouts. Very happy with $200 a corner (235x55x17). I have only traveled approx 1000 km's, so hard to know how long they will last. Have to report back. Show details
T1 Sport 235/40/18 HSV Clubbie – I've now travelled 5,000 Kms on these tyres and given them allround driving conditions. They have lost their stickiness and are suffering treadwear badly I'm going to be lucky to get 7500 ks out of these and that is very dissapointing! I eventually got 26,000kms out of em. Unfortunately Toyo don't make this tyre anymore. It was a great wet weather performer. Show details
Good grippy tyres, last a long time – I have had these on a 430kw Falcon for a little while now. The grip is fantastic in wet or dry, they do not squeal and they seem to be lasting and note wearing out fast. For the price they are one of the best tyres I have had, I would buy again and the only thing stopping me from buying next time will be of I find a semi slick or Michelin for a good price. Disappointing Lifespan – Have had 3 1/2 previous sets on my 2011 MC Mondeo Titanium. The car's only done 88,000 k's and I'm looking for another set. This car is a diesel - so it's incapable of setting any land speed records, and being a professional businessman and family man, I'd describe my driving as conservative.... As far as performance of the tyre goes - I… Read more
couldn't fault them. They grip perfectly in the dry and wet.
At more than 320 bucks a corner (235/45 R18) though, I'm looking for a bit more life than 20-odd thousand k's.
Pretty good – I bought two of these for my Falcon (only a 6 but still a heavy car) which I struggled to find tyres for that didnt spin easily when road was damp and they have been pretty good. Next time I got new tyres I saved up and got the GY F1 AS2's which are superb (but they are $300 compared to Toyos $200). I put the Toyos on the back so they would wear… Read more
out quicker so I could get 2 more AS2's but they are sitting back there doing their job well. I would have no hesitation recommending these to someone if they werent willing to pay too much. A tank of fuel is about $80 and lasts maybe a week, these are only 2 and half times that and last a few years. These ones are about 18 months now on the rear and seem to be wearing well. Only gripe is my alloys stick out further than the tyre, which they dont with the AS2's, so I have to make sure if anyone (mechanics etc) take the wheels off they dont put them face down. Good grip for the cost Rim protection
Perfect tyre for Audi Q5 Quattro – tyre does all things advertised in the sales information however I have only done 2000 k to date but all looks great very impressed with wet braking and low road noise road grip is improving with more kilometres as the tyre is wearing off the mould release from the rubber good value [priced for tyre and not on the brand of car you drive]
A great tyre for my Jaguar XJ Super V8 – Great grip accelerating, cornering and braking. Low noise and excellent ride comfort. Excellent in all conditions. Recommend other Jaguar XJ, XJR, XK and XKR drivers use them. They are great value and competitively priced. Show 2 replies
