This car is absolutely perfect. Such a smooth driving experience, great handling and quiet little beast. For such a little car, i like it makes me feel higher on the road as compared to its 1998 predecessor. It has plenty of leg room. I've found the Toyota corolla range is the most affordable reliable car ever. I only spend $40 to fill the tank on 98 premium petrol and after 2-3 hours of driving, only uses half a tank. Its awesome all in all... Only complaint is the tiny boot space, but that's again comparing it to its 98 predecessor.
Never skipped a beat!
Toyota's corolla is an absolute gem. It has never skipped a beat. Wouldn't go for anything else in its range. My current Corolla is my third and not one of them has had any serious issue. The team at Corolla has been a pleasure to deal with and always hassle free.
Great car with a great design
Great little car with enough power. Feels very light, runs quietly and handles well.
The interior feels very spacious with plenty of legroom for both the front and back seats.
Controls for the cooling/heating are easy to use - the knobs are easy to turn.
Would highly recommend this car!
A Good Car
This is the second Toyota Corolla Ascent Sedan car I owned and absolutely love it and would not go for any other cars but Corollas.
Love the performance of driving it and never had to put huge outlay cost for its mechanic repairs except the usual minor maintenance needed.
Only problem is, just wish the interior carpet wasn't beige colour which tend to show the dirt on it easily.
Taking my advice, my son has recently bought the latest Corolla hatchback and he's extremely happy with it.
I hate to part with mine as it's still going well, but if I had to trade it, then will definitely go for another Toyota Corolla - maybe the latest one :)
Corolla Ascent Sports Sedan July 2012-Love it
This is my first Corolla. Purchased used December 2016 when it was 4 yrs old and very low klm's. I find it holds the road well and drives smooth and has a quiet interior. I had a reversing camera fitted as i found it hard to reverse in this car, possibly because the boot seems higher than my last cars. It has excellent fuel economy. I do find it difficult to pair my mobile for music however my son seems to be able to do it much better than me. I love the fact that i can use my phone through the stereo system, totally hands off and very clear. T...he boot has a full rubber liner which is great in winter and items don't slide around and it is very spacious. I find the seats comfortable. Great car, cannot fault it. Hope to have it a long time yet.
This car is perfect, less hassles
The car is excellent. The car is still at optimum performance after 5 years being used. Been performing long distance driving and no issue was found. The handling is good. The car is consider spacious and suitable for family use. The car is very reliable and the maintenance cost is relatively low
Nice car for small family. Very reliable. Not spacious. Back leg room can accommodate kids but adults have proble in comfort. Dashboard should be little wider. Running cost is not much inside city and very less on long drive. Very good small family car and economical. Interior is fine. Recommended
Toyota Corolla ZRE152R 2007 Problems
Bad Interior quality issues.
I bought secondhand car 2007.
Interior plastic not long lasting or strong anymore my car has crack on the plastic from passenger site which is the block of seatbelt dispenser.
Dashboard melted and still sticky in winter and dust got stuck.
Bad quality plastic of engine cover.
Bad quality floor carpet came off and torn.
Conquest was a good car with the a strong body frame. the performance was good and was not a noisy car at all. the 2009 Model was one of the best model. Plenty of ;;legroom which was a bonus and of course a very big boot. That's shame it won't be produced and released anymore otherwise I would go and buy it.
Best in all respects.
This small to medium car has been absolutely reliable plenty of room for big guys capacious boot smooth steady and safe on the road my manual returns 4-5 litres per 100kms touring service is cheap around $150 using synthetic top grade oils its fully imparted from Japan finish is excellent and has plenty of get up and go for its near 100 kW engine .They say bullet proof Corolla their right. Very happy.
cheap interior finish
Steering columb had to be replaced at 34000k, 4 yrs old， Toyota paid 90% after keeping the car a month. Limited boot space and the hatch wont close if items are at the back of the cargo space. Interior trim looks cheap. Nice car to drive. 4 stage auto slightly thirsty
Has it's moments...
This car is OKAY. It has it's fair shares of pros and cons but it was a big step up from our 2-door Hyundai Excel Sprint that didn't have any air-conditioning or power steering. First of all, the corolla has only 2 electric windows (in the front), which makes it a hassle to open and close all of the windows, but since it is the entry level model, that is to be expected. Secondly, The air-conditioning absolutely reeks of fuel. Without re-circulation selected the climate control is just unbearable, even with the heater on. We took it down to Toyo...ta to get it fixed, but apparently "it's just a mechanical fault that's present on all models". This car is really annoying. HOWEVER There is little to no cabin noise, and the car is quite spacious, considering it's category. It has lasted us a long time and it was quite the case of "bang for your buck", considering it has 7 airbags, steering wheel adjustment, driver seat height adjustment, automatic driver window, automatic transmission, electric mirrors and air-conditioning (-.-) all for $22,990, but if there's one thing we miss dearly on this model, it's ABS. So in the event of a crash, the brakes won't immediately lock up, thus creating more control of the vehicle.
Great little hatchback!
My Toyota Corolla Ascent Sport in Silver Pearl is a great 2nd family car. I use it mainly to go to work and back in, or to drop the kids off at school. Very easy to drive and park. I really like the electric steering. The wife loves driving it too. Very quiet car. Not the most powerful car out there, but super reliable because it is a Toyota. Plenty of rear seat legroom for taller folks. We can fit a full load of shopping in the boot! I like the 16" alloy wheels from the Levin ZR, and love the spoilers and fog lamps too. I've put Mobil 1 5W-30 ...oil in the engine since its first oil change, and continue to do so as I'm keeping this car forever. The engine runs really smooth. Not real keen on the factory Dunlop SP Sport 01 tyres. When driving semi-spirited these tyres definately give the driver a lack of confidence in the car's handling abilities. Fortunately I now have a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 3's on the car. Wow!! My little Corolla now handles like it's on rails! Puts a smile on my face now! Other than that, it's just a super reliable little car. What's more to say, it's a Corolla!
Great family hatch
we bought this in 2008 as a brand new family car . Traveled 47000 km and was planing to use 5 yrs and used for 7 yrs. A great car and no complaint. Drives well and safe. No repairs or major recalls . No hassles to trade in or private selling.
Reliable and trustworthy
Purchased the Corolla MY11 brand new and have never had a problem with it. So reliable that I have used it as a family car for myself and 4 kids until today when I decided it was finally time to upgrade to a Rav 4. Will stick with Toyota as they are trustworthy. Have purchased Nissans and Holdens previously only to have issues the mechanics of the vehicle. My Corolla I will be passing on to my daughter as her 1st car when she is 17 in April. It has enough oomph with it's 1.8L engine to go when you need it to, and only requires $60 a week to fill the tank to which I get about 550km of city driving.
Great Car! Minmal Issues!
I have had my Corolla Ascent new since 2008 till 2014 and have had only small issues during ownership.
These issues include :
- a funny smell when I stop my car and this happens only when air-con is running.
- the door locks all stopped working
- the boot lock stopped opening
All these issues (sadly ) happened out of the 3 year warranty and were all fixed easily by myself as the dealer wanted $1500 for the locking system ! - I fixed it $200!
In terms of performs goes, it is a great small car.
I loved the amount of stuff which could be ...
Great small car
I have had my Corolla Conquest 2008 for about 6years now (2nd hand) and have had no issues with it other than a funny smell when I stop my car and this happens only when air-con is running. Have had several service centre looked at and no one can identify the issue.
In terms of performs goes, it is a great small car.
I have used to load heaps of stuff purchased from Ikea and it does the job well.
Loads of boot space when chairs are folded down.
Great fuel consumption
It's a manual but I love driving manual from time to time. This way I won't forget how to operate a manual car :P
Great bulletproof small sedan
Bought a 2008 Conquest sedan a year ago (2014) for an extra car for our family. It only had 32,000km when we bought it (from the proverbial little old lady going to bingo once a week!) and have put another 8,000km on it over the past year. It sits for a month or so in the driveway unused, then is driven like a banshee for a week when we need it, then sits again. So not an ideal environment for a car, but this little Corolla never complains. She purrs around town better than just about any other car I've owned. The interior is very high qua...lity and tight as a drum with no rattles or anything. I just changed the oil the other day and noted with pleasure and amazement that Toyota seems to be the only company that put the oil filter in a location that won't drip on anything else when you unscrew it - right down at the bottom of the block sticking out to the side. So simple yet almost every other maker gets it wrong (I've owned quite a few different cars). I have a few small complaints. The cruise control has to kick the transmission down mightily to keep 110 on the freeway with any sort of a hill involved. It could use just a touch more headroom (I am 6'4"). I would have liked a boot button either on the key or on the boot itself so you don't have to turn the key manually or go to the inside remote boot release to open it when the car is unlocked. When you open the bonnet you have to remove an acre of plastic engine cover to actually get at the engine. As I said though these are very minor niggles and as a car to drive around it is brilliant. People say Toyotas are boring but I disagree, it is quite a nice drive. And being a Toyota you know it will last forever with only minimal maintenance.
2011 sport, lives up to reputation
I've owned 3 Corollas ('88, '96 and now 2011)
Have always been a fan of the reliability. I've now had my 2011 model for over 3yrs from new and I love it just as much as the day I got it. Swift n smooth drive, easy to use auto transmission (especially when hill climbing), comfortable, everything I have come to expect from Corolla.
If I had to pick its downside... Hmmm... Probably the center interior wear I guess, gets full of scratches... That's about it though.
Running costs are great, no probs.
Sticking with Toyota
Since my very first car in the late 90's I have driven new Toyotas without a single issue. I then bought a Ford Focus in 2008 and was not impressed. Back to Toyota as of 2012 (Corolla Ascent Sport) and happy once again. I'm not a car fanatic so I can't get technical, but it is a much nicer, smoother drive, a more comfortable interior and have had much better service through their service centres than Ford. Sticking with Toyota now. Will have to upgrade soon as my toddlers will soon be kids, but for my price point I know Toyota is my best option.... The only downside to the Corolla over the Focus was that the Corolla boot is smaller and I had to disassemble my pram to fit it in. Very minor point, but boot space is important for parents of young kids. ;)
Questions & Answers
Hey there, I am looking to buy Toyota's Corolla hatchback 2007 can anyone tell maintenance cost , performance ,reliability and everything you know about the car?
I recently bot Corella ascent 2010 2zre15r my10 4sp auto.
How much tank fuel capacity?
It runs around 550km full tank... Is it bad?
While on desk figure shows 7.1/100km
I guess it doesn't show perfect fuel consumption.
Fan blows warm air even with temp setting on cold (Ac off and outside intake on).. not sure if this is normal or not? My previous car's fan blew quite cool air from outside. Even driving in the hills with 15 degrees air outside it gets stifling inside with only the fan on, meaning I have to either open the windows or turn on the AC. Possible something is blocked, or is this just because of where it's pulling in the air from the engine bay..?
Hi Karl, this isn't the case with me.Naturally on a warm day it will only blow warm air but when cooler it's cold air and very comfortable.
It doesn't right to me that your still getting warm air on a cool day, I'd get this checked out.
I've noticed this same thing; haven't identified the cause, nor been too concerned about it aside from a few months we went without A/C due to a failed compressor - unrelated. Haven't verified it, but seems to me as though the heat is probably coming froa/m the heater core; as though the heat/cool valve doesn't entirely close off the flow of hot water from the engine to the heater core. Doesn't bother me beyond curiosity, as the A/C still blows nice and cold.
