My 2014 Toyota Corolla ZRE172R is an absolutely beautiful car to drive - smooth, comfortable, easy to handle and has the power to get me up the biggest hills without any effort.
It's economical, has an attractive and functional dashboard, usb port, cd player, drink holders, roomy boot, fold down rear seats for extra boot room, reversing camera, folding exterior mirrors, and easy to operate volume and bluetooth controls on the steering wheel.
I bought it 2nd hand only 10 months ago and it was nearly new with only 23,000 kms on the clock and it has never missed a beat.
Love, love my car :D
Great Car for small family
I bought my Toyota Corolla in 2014 & it still has no issues. The drive is incredibly smooth. They have bucket line seats so I’m not moving around like Mazda 3 cars. The car has no sound. Engine is very quiet & often I forget that the engine is still on, hence draining my battery on two occasions. The only downside is the service fees once the cap service of $150 runs out.
stable, good looking car but has blind spots. Blurry windshield
Bought this car in a sedan in April, and drove it home, I noticed the windshield is more angled to give it a more aerodynamic sporty look, but this angle brought out some imperfections in the glass. The windshield had a weird magnifier bubble effect at about 1/3 down from the roof and 1/3 above the dashboard. If you were driving at night the traffic lights would look wavy and during the day looking through the glass was like looking through a fun house mirror. This makes you dizzy and gives you a headache after some time. I showed my friends ...and fam this issue and they could all see this flaw. We took it back to Toyota, and they could not see the issue but were happy to replace the windshield as it was under warranty. I got it back and the problem was fixed but still slightly wavy on the top of the windshield but nowhere near as bad. That was the only issue we had. The car drives smooth and feels stable on the road. a couple of things you need to be aware of: 1. The power steering is heavier than my other Nissan Pulsar. 2. There is a annoying beeping when you put the car in reverse, and this is not the parking sensor, its just a high pitched beep to let you know the car is in reverse. 3.There's massive blind spots when you are trying to reverse. Having a reverse camera helps but its hard to turn your head and check out the back window because the drivers seat is so high and the back window is so small. This is kind of irritating.
Perfect first car
My Toyota Corolla have got sufficient space. Slightly on the noisier side compared to the speed it is going. There are some blind spots. It's fine once you get used to it.
It's however very cost efficiency, I paid $40 fuel a week compared to my partner who paid $70 a week travelling similar distance. Have not had to repair tot yet
Have no issues whatsoever. No regret buying the Toyota Corolla.
Efficient for city use
Great interior space for the sedan model. Highly efficient in the city traffic keeping running costs low. Its one of the best value for money cars. The car is is firm but well-tuned for urban use. It has been running for the past 2 years without any issues, Stylish, economical and reliable ride.
Performance is great, fuel consumption is average about 7-8km/litre. I like the legroom and dashboard. Radio still work great with Bluetooth, you can plug your iPhone and paired it. Cabin quite noise proof, kids could happily sleep throughout any journey. You might need to install separate rear and front camera if needed.
Oh, what a feeling.
My family prefer driving Toyotas and this Corolla is a joy to drive. The steering is smooth, the car runs well and fuel economy is a dream. It's mainly used for driving to work and going on leisure drives on the weekend & it always gets me from point A to B without any issues. Our mechanic says, it's a great car that doesn't require much during servicing time. My family enjoy owning this car and driving it everywhere.
provides me with everything that i desire in a car costing two or three times as much .
I have had my corolla sedan for almost 12 months now and am very happy with it . I had a Yaris before that and both vehicles were/are exceptionally reliable. The corolla is great around the city and suburbs yet handles those longer trips with ease.
The only annoyance i have is the grey strip on the dashboard which reflects in the windscreen and side mirrors in certain daylight conditions. A rather petty annoyance but illustrates poor design to me.
It is relatively economical but after owing both a Yaris and a VW diesel Caddy that set an alm...
Good overall car - cheap and efficient to run
I have driven the sedan 2014 version and been a passenger in the 2015 hatchback
The car handles well and performs well for a corolla - easy servicing and easy to take care of, also I've owned toyota's in the past so I know that it doesn't take much to look after it - regular servicing and checking will keep it in good form.
Interior is good, especially on the ZR model, however I dislike the reverse camera on both the 2014 and 2015 corolla, it doesn't show true colour compared to the subaru I currently own.
Corolla's are very reliable and w...ork well as long as they are serviced regularly on time. Running cost - $50 a week on fuel depending on the fuel you put in and averaging 500-600km per week Insurance 1k or less depending on the driver Maintenance - Yearly service is less than $200
2015 Corolla Sedan
Traded our late 2012 Corolla Ascent sports hatch on a new 2015 Sedan because we are getting older and what to do more travelling with this sedan, has everything the hatch had except being much bigger allround especially the rear seat area and boot, the sedan is the mid range SX model with different gauges with readouts and upgraded info system
We have had 4 Corollas since our first in 1986, 1999, 2012, and now the 2015 Sedan and never had any major trouble with any as long you do the regular services for me they are just about bullet proof.
Biggest mistake ever
This is the first time I have ever bought a brand new car; and what a waste of money. The demo I test drove was awesome. The car I received would be a joke if it wasn't so expensive. The cabin noise is so bad that when I ring someone they cant hear me and one friend said it sounded like I was travelling in the back of a ute. The Bluetooth/Siri hardly ever works and I've only just had a new Sat Nav put in after waiting 3 months. Each time I have complained to Toyota about the noise and phone I was told that it was the tyres; that Toyota alt...ernate which tyres they put on cars and that I should buy Bridgestone next time as that will help with the noise. I was also told my phone issues were because I had a iPhone. That Apple makes their phones so they aren't compatible, well I bought a Samsung as the salesman suggested and guess what nothing changed. They eventually admitted the Sat Nav didn't work but took nearly 3 months to get a new one. I hate the car and went to Mazda to see how much it would cost to trade it in but I was going to have to pay $8000 which I cant afford. Next time I will buy the demo model that I test drive AND IT WONT BE A TOYOTA!!!
Toyota's Quality Control is non existence. Paid brand new for defected unit. Check thoroughly.
Picked up the car on March 23rd, 2016, a brand new Corolla Ascent Sedan. As soon as I got into the garage, I noticed a lots of paint defects (runny metallic paints) on the car's roof.
Steering wheel is making loud rubbing noise. Not as expected coming from Toyota.
Still wondering until now that those defects would have passed their Quality Control system.
Took about a month for Toyota refused to replace the car (as expected), but they agreed to pay the dealership to repaint the roof. Sent the car for the paint work, picked up and as ...I had thought, the workshop paint work would not be great. I can find a lots of dots where dirt gets into the wet paint, but I didn't say anything to them, because I am sick of it. Steering wheel noise, it is still there, I just have to accept it. I was told that by the dealership that they had the "motor" replaced, but those screw heads that I had marked were not touched...
The car does all that I would expect a Corolla to do. This is the second Corolla purchased inside two weeks. I wrote of the first one, a hatch where the speedo was invisible in daylight and unroadworthy. The second a sedan has a much more sensible dash panel and more like a Corolla is expected to be. No matter how well you know the make test drive before taking delivery of your new car.
Just perfect simply enjoy your car!
This is my another generation corrolla) The previous one crashed in accident and here I am very alive! This is due my corolla, perfect car for great price. Everything is made for comfort, safe driving and you do never wast your time on hard service, just enjoy it. It would be much better be offered 2.0 2.5 or 3.0 l engine cause lot of people around like sporty cars. I don't mind its acceleration, but guys it could be better
Both good & bad...
I drove a 2014 Toyota Corolla sedan as a loan car for a week. The auto is smooth & responsive. Interior finishing is cheap, although this is common among most lower priced cars these days. The rear window is too small & greatly restricts your vision, although compensated somewhat by the good rear camera. Front windscreen is angled down too low (it has insufficient vertical height) and therefore also restricts your vision. Upon entering the car my head hit the top door frame several times, also when sitting in the drivers seat the top of my head...was only about 40mm from the ceiling (and I'm a medium sized male). Fuel economy is good. It seems that Toyota have sacrificed comfort and good visibility in their search for improved fuel economy. If feeling a little hemmed in doesn't worry you then this overall a decent vehicle. Glad to get back to my Subaru Forrester.
Questions & Answers
timing belt replacement at what KM?
Hi I am looking to buy a Toyota Acsent 2013 with 120 000km on the clock for $8500. Is this a fair price?
I always consult the Red Book price. https://www.redbook.com.au/cars/details/2013-toyota-corolla-ascent-auto/SPOT-ITM-324070/
Also check that you are not being scammed, view the car yourself in person and check that it's not stolen etc prior to inspection.
Never transfer money for someone who will deliver the car later, that is a well known scam. (usually they will say they are working on an oil rig, or mines etc)
All the best
How can i install maps on the corolla hatchback 2016?
my maps came with my hybrid. it's a little micro sd card they fit. it costs a few hundred bucks and once installed they activate the 'navigation' function in the apps page. handy tool. only down side to this feature is it costs money to update it (no automatic updates included). if you call your nearest toyota dealership they'll be able to give you a more accurate cost to get it ~ assuming your corolla model is like mine. Good luck!
