Revs high on 100kl then drops

Hi I copied and pasted this story because i notice my new 2015 GXL 200 series dose the same thing. I don't no if it torque converter or not,or it is hanging in 5 gear but if im in cruise control it sits on 1900 revs I increase speed and decrease speed it drop to 1500 revswill ask sevice department,but if anybody has come up against this please let me no. { I have noticed is the torque converter often slips at 100kph making it rev at nearly 2000rpm which is a waste on a motor with so much torque. By accelerating to 110k then backing off gets it cruising at a more reasonable 1500rpm.}

Truly king on the road

Best 4x4 wagon on the road. Comfortable, powerful, great for towing and a dream to drive. I had a Patrol prior to this vehicle and was known as a Nissan nut. I have seen the light and could be considered a Toyota tragic due to this great vehicle - LC200 GXL V8 diesel wagon. The longer we have owned this vehicle the better the experience has become. We have towed our 2.5t Whittley extensively and the landcruiser does it without the feeling of towing. It has been a great investment and would recommend the GXL auto to any prospective buyer. I would also recommend the guys at Goulburn Toyota to make your purchase - ask for David.

2012 V8 petrol

First of all I'm writing this review in regards to my Grandfather's 200 series GXL with the UGR-FE 4.6 V8 petrol. He chose the petrol due to the unnecessary complexity of the diesel as he has heard and encountered too many horror stories.

Superb car. It is thirsty but relative to its size it does quite well. About 12 to 13 on a trip and mid to high teens around town. It does better on 95 octane. Huge power, bit of a torque deficit compared to the diesel, but that's about it. Really smooth, quiet and reliable. Haven't had a single issue in 130,000 KM's.

The six speed is much better than the old 5. Drives nicely enough for a big Wagon and it's super quiet and comfortable on a trip.

great cruiser

Does everything we expected Plus. A pleasure to drive and handles our 3000kg plus ,van with ease. Fuel economy will improve when we get a few more k,s on the clock. Love the GXL but will upgrade to a VX next time. Have had 7 diesel Prados in the past and they had more tricks than the 200. The VX will at least have a trip computer and the upgraded suspension.
Comfort, stability, power, fuel consumption, safety
could have more standard features, trip computer, upgraded gps, 2nd row centre arm rests, easily removed rear seats, Show details ·  3

When you spend all that money then have to upgrade it, it's a bad choice to start with!

Good

Would be a great vehicle if this problem can be fixed. Everyone knows the damage dust can do to a motor. I noticed this after 3000 km. What if I had waited till the recommended 30 000km?
Great to drive,plenty of power(diesel gxl model)
Have noticed dust in wrong side of aircleaner, was fitted with a new aircleaner box and aircleaner but still the problem is there Show details

There is the KDSS suspension system that will help with that problem. unfortunately it was not a standard option on GXL diesel until late 2009. You can get the system put in now but will cost a little extra over the $2500 option cost.
