Piece of Junk! – Bought this kettle a few months ago, wont use it any more! Falling to bits and will not turn off. Total waste of money. It looked like a quality product but found out very soon that it was cheap and nasty. Show details

Never had a kettle that’s broken down so fast – Bought this Trent and Steele kettle for my elderly mother who has dementia so imagine my dismay when at her place the other day to find that the kettle no longer turns off It just keeps boiling and getting hotter and hotter Extremely dangerous Of course it’s out of warranty! Would never buy one of their products again  Show details

Faulty product – I am absolutely disgusted with the brand Trent and Steele for manufacturing such a faulty product the breakdown before 2 years. I bought the product and didn't use it for nearly 6 months as my house was not ready. Hence my warranty was already past two years when the kettle stopped working. When I went to the store I did not have a leg to stand on, I'm absolutely disgusted for a brand that is back by Harvey Norman.  Show details

High price but breaks down after 2 years – I am absolutely disgusted st the morals of Trent and Steele and for Harvey Norman as my experience reflects very badly on both of them and what they stand for. When you pay $120 for a kettle it should not break down just after the warranty expires 2 years later. $15 Kmart brands last longer. Both Trent and Steele and Harvey Norman are saying… Read more

“tough luck”. Wow ! They’ve lost a customer for life. Left a really bad taste in my mouth. When you charge that much you should make sure it’s high quality.

DO NOT BUY TRENT & STEELE – I purchased this kettle from Harvey Norman approx 2 years ago. I have used the kettle approx 20 times in that time and it has just stopped working. I phoned Harvey Norman, who have no record of my purchase even though I have spent thousands of dollars through them and unfortunately I do not have a receipt so they can not replace it or refund me.… Read more

My previous kettle was still working 20 years after I received it. Harvey Norman have just advised me they don't make kettles like they use to and that I'm lucky it lasted two years. I wouldn't call that lucky Harvey Norman! I will be boycotting your store for all future purchases.

Looks good but doesn't go the distance – Jug went on the blink after using just over twelve months, not good enough considering the price, get better value out of a much cheaper one. Purchased from Harvey Norman, of course they don't stock them anymore, I wonder why!!! Steer clear of this brand, there are many others to choose from.  Show details

Rubbish – Just reiterate what others have said , the steam burns your hand when pouring and ours will boil away as automatic cut off doesn't work anymore, this really is a poorly engineered piece of garbage , avoid at all costs. It was given to us a present , unsure where it was purchased from or what the value was.  Show details

LOOKS PRETTY BIGGEST FAIL – I bought the kettle and the matching 4 slice toaster. What an absolute waste of money! The kettle takes forever to boil, and you can easily burn yourself. The toasters on/off button failed after about 10uses if that, it also doesn't even toast the bread, the elements are too small  Show details

Steam hands – Forget it, buy a jug style kettle, you can't fill this one up without steaming your hand. This is a burns risk. Our kettle is the rounded dome model in teal and looks really nice next to the toaster - also a fail. Pretty bench candy that is dangerous, noisy and expensive.  Show details

Disgraceful – This kettle is the worst I have ever used .while waiting for it to boil which seems forever ,it makes a shocking noise as if is going to explode , I can't take it back because I don't have the docket .It should not be on the market. It is disgraceful.

Terrible – Bought one with the toaster as well, under a year ago. 6 months went by, with no problems, until the on/off toggle wouldn't work - took it into Harvey Norman and were told that they had none left in Australia to give us. So they gave us a refund...... Terrible cheap quality product.... Purchased to match with other copper items in the kitchen. Terrible terrible terrible..

Faulty kettle - don't buy – We have the dome kettle, colour aquamarine - reduced at Harvey Norman. Original price was something like $120. Doesn't work, does not switch off after water has boiled, continue boiling endless until even the water has reached the 'MIN' level! Extremely disappointed. Harvey Norman won't exchange because the one we bought has discontinued!

Bought This And A Toaster - This Is A Junk Brand - Do Not Buy – Do not buy trent & steele. They are absolute rubbish quality and complete rip off prices. I bought a toaster and a kettle from Harvey Norman 18 months ago. I had to take the kettle back immediately for a replacement as the scale mesh had come off and couldn't be put back on securely. They gave me another one, but just after the 12 month warranty… Read more

was up the handle on the lid fell of - the glue must have melted off with the heat/steam. The four slice toaster is now not working and blows the safety switch turning all the power in the house off. What an absolute RIP OFF. With the prices they charge you think you are getting quality but it is just cheap junk.

Stay away from this kettle!!! – Got this kettle as a gift and have used it id say 20 times and its getting the burning smell that everyone else complains about also a little smoke from the base of kettle. Its to bad as the kettle is one of the best looking out there. So i'll recommend either a different model or another brand.

Should be recalled – Was alright for a month but then could smell a burning wax. Very strange and strong odor. Not taking any risks. Going to return and get a different brand. Consumers needs to recall. Harvey Norman must know or they wouldn't be trying to sell them, and toasters so cheap. Underhanded.

I really love this kettle – I purchased one of these recently and really like it so far. It looks nice, functions well, and makes enough tea for the whole family. It's also sturdier and boils more efficiently than other kettles we've had. While the colour range is an acquired taste, Trent & Steele are phasing this range out in favour of new colours for those who'd prefer different ones.

dont buy – Bought a beautiful trent and steele toaster and kettle. I purchased it totally for the colour and as it was not in a cheap range expected that it would be a good product. Big mistake. Burnt electrical smell and a slight taste. Should have read the reviews. Returned to harvey norman where the sales lady advisef they had not had any returned before. I changed back to russel hobbs but could not get blue.

Looks good, Crap quality – I admit I wanted this kettle purely for it's good looks. The copper finish looks great in my kitchen, but that's where the amazingness ends. Burning smell (like all the other reviews). Really disappointing! Will try to find another copper kettle to replace it, as I've purchased other copper accessories in the kitchen

STAY AWAY! – I am having the same issues as the reviews above.Taking my second replacement kettle back to Harvey Norman today along with the matching toaster and getting DeLonghi brand which I should have done in the first place. Looks good but cheap components obviously. What a waste of time. Disappointing for the money you pay.

This kettle should be recalled - worst purchase ever! – We, like all other comments, have had continuing issues with a electrical burning smell/taste coming from the kettle. Our THIRD kettle has just turned, so we will be going back to Harvey Norman and requesting a refund or swap for another brand for not only the kettle, but also the matching toaster. Disgraceful Trent and Steele!! The only positive to the story is our dealings with Harvey Norman have been great, thus far.

Electrical/Burning smell – I too have had the same problem with the Trent and Steele copper kettle. Harvey Norman were more than happy to replace it as it comes with a 2 year replacement warranty but after a week the replacement is doing exactly the same thing. Very disappointed as it was a gift.

Electrical burning smell. Twice – I've had the same situation as another review of this kettle. I had the first one for about two months then a strong burning plastic or electrical burnt smell so I took back to Harvey Norman and they replaced. Same thing has happened with this one after a week. It's a good looking kettle and I got the matching toaster :(

Second replacement, same fault – I cannot find any reviews on this item. I purchased the kettle not long ago, after about 30 uses a potent melting/burning plastic smell came from the kettle once it had boiled.. It had still clicked off, the button wasn't stuck on to cause it to over boil etc. So I took it back to Harvey Norman and they replaced it. One week later I am having the… Read more

same problem. Assuming this must be a fault, I will stick with my old kettle. Which is a shame because the copper colour is just what I was after.
