Do not trust these people
We went to China and South America with Tripadeal and had a great time. We booked and paid more than $14,000 last November for a trip to the middle east. These theives have not returned one cent of our money. Do not book anything with them, as they do not keep their word.

Do not use this company, they are a con. Company did not refund when they cancelled our holiday. Staff were unhelpful and rude, very dissapointed and they've taken our money and run.
Tripadeal Eastern Europe Oct 2020 - solo traveller
As expected my holiday was cancelled due to Covid however my trip is "no longer available" for rebooking in the future. So I am unable to defer or rebook that exact trip with Singapore stopover. However they are unwilling to refund my full amount of $6254. It is not my fault they have made that trip "no longer avail" nor did they alert me to this. I found my trip marked as such on their website. If said goods and services are not being offered in the future why shouldn't I receive a full refund? This was the only trip I was interested in.

Tripacon 50 day world tour deal 3090
Had a booking on the Tripadeal 50 day world tour depart 12 September Case 66812 is our reference from Tripadeal that we have as for a refund. We have rung them 3 times with no help and emailed them with no satisfaction. I would not use this company there communication is poor and there support.
Handling of refund for Europe Trip - Excellent
We could not be happier with the way the team at Tripadeal Exclusives have handled the cancellation of our Europe trip due to Covid19. We where expecting to loose all our monies due to the insurance of course not covering it, but much to our delight, Tripadeal have managed to secure refunds on nearly all our holiday and credits for some small airfares. The refunds where transferred to us within a few days of Tripadeal Exclusives receiving them and their communication to us was great. Will not hesitate to book again through them.
Excellent handling and outcome of our refund
Staff were helpful, understanding of our frustrations at having to wait for our claim. Good communicators, despite their challenges due to Covid. Good outcome as we received a fair refund.
Money refunded - disputed transaction via credit card/ bank.
My trip to New York Sept 8 2020 cancelled! I received email from TAD offering credits etc for few weeks ago. However, fortunately I had read on this forum in March ( thank you whoever you were )to dispute transaction through credit card / bank re product not being delivered. I had all my $4440 returned. No thanks to TAD many thanks to bank!
So if you paid by credit card you may not have to accept TAD’s offers. Good luck.

In May 2019, I booked and paid for a TripaDeal ('TAD') tour to China for travel in May 2020. The cost was $2,999 for a 13 day package for two people. Excellent value and good feedback from friends who had undertaken the same tour.
Like all travel agents, TAD struggled to cope with the impact of the pandemic. Updates from TAD were regular until they finally acknowledged the trip would not proceed when flights to China were stopped. Updates became less frequent as TAD became engulfed in managing the crisis.

Dishonest Dealings with Trip A Deal
I booked a $13000 holiday with Trip A Deal. A fairly reasonable amount. It was cancelled because of COVID.
We are all being misled by dishonest Trip A Deal directors who instruct their unfortunate staff to disguise the truth to customers whose money they are basically refusing to return..
At present I am being forced into one of two choices:
1. Rebook for the same trip in August 2021 and they PAY MORE for it.
2. Take another trip they are offering, and lose a bucket load of money.
Of course they did not give a third choice, but phone calls to the company revealed a third option a 'Best Endeavours' refund.

Like many reviewers we were offered (actually forced) into accepting a credit for our trip which was ruined by COVID.
This would be acceptable but as my husband and I both work in schools and can only travel in school holidays it is pretty much impossible to use our voucher. We are also reluctant to spend any more money as living in Tasmania we cannot freely travel to and fro at the moment and we are worried we will lose more money. We are fortunate that unlike many of the reviews, we have not lost a great deal of money. However I still believe TripADeal should be offering more affordable travel within the states of Australia so that credit vouchers can be used.
Another one of over 400 COVID registered victims. Trip cancelled. Only offered a delayed same trip without penalty or thousands in fees if we altered. Didn’t offer a refund until pushed even though legally required to.
Refused to even look at processing a Best Effort Refund as I had tried to claim the money back through credit card charge back. Apparently they can’t do the investigation if we do this because they are worried we might be paid back twice. Would have thought they could do the investigation and check before payment but apparently ...

This company will not refund cancelled trips. This company changed its terms and condition info mid Covid. This is not allowed but done. We all booked on their old terms and conditions. They changed all the verbiage to suit them.
We should be covered by the old terms and conditions.

Don’t part with your money.
I have had ongoing discussions with trip a deal, but even though I have pointed out that we meet the hardship guidelines for a refund they will not refund our money. Two members have lost their job and one has a compromised immune system. Still no compassion or decency shown in refunding for our once in a lifetime holiday that couldn’t go ahead.

All the negative reviews are actual customers like myself, whom are being ignored by TripaDeal - and have had our paid for holidays stolen from us.
I paid for my holiday November 5th 2019.
Well before COVID 19 took control.
My holiday was for my wife and I to Europe for 17 days to depart November 22, 2020.
Almost $10,000 and fully paid.
Covid came in early this year and understandably took control of all holidays and travel around the world.
A few months ago we obviously started becoming concerned that our holiday would not proceed. ...
I always find Trip a Deal fabulous to deal with.
Their staff are enormously obliging and extremely helpful.
The trips they have arranged for us have been so special and memorable.
I wouldn't consider booking with any other company.

I am so rapted at our refund .we payed $10,000 approx for a trip to the baulkens and have just received $ 9,960 aprox refund .I have had 3 trips in the past and enjoyed all of them ,thank you to trip adeal.

Why can't you offer a refund Tripadeal!
We booked a Tripadeal holiday through a local agent for a European trip early January 20 for travel in May 20. Heard from Tripadeal in March that the trip was cancelled and they would be in touch. Advised that they were non-refundable and to engage with your travel insurance to understand our options. Unfortunately deemed 'government intervention' so no insurance. Then informed with a POM offer which was travel credit minus re-scheduling fee of $699 each and were pressured and bullied into excepting otherwise we'd lose the lot. So we took ...it as no other option. I have since learned from others in our situation that they are offering some a Best Endeavor Refund however it was never offered to me. You have $11,800 of my money and I just want it refunded as I paid for a holiday which I never got to take.
Booked a tour to Vietnam for my daughter and I for next month to celebrate her completing Year 12 with TAD. Cost $3600! Im a single Mum, now left in debt paying off ZipMoney due to not recieving refund, which I was told Vietnam Airlines are holding ? I have been informed by Airlines flights are being refunded scams! Please we all need to leave bad feedback and bring TAD down! Its not our fault we cannot travel due to Covid and unknown when OS travel will open up. I have now lodged a claim with VCAT and awaiting appeal date. I WILL NEVER book with TAD again!!!!!! Out of pocket and left struggling to make repayments and now interest thanks TAD you should be disgusted holding our money!!!!!
Don't accept credit note ~ Get full refund from your credit card via a charge back.
Like many of reviews being posted here, we too were 'offered' but declined a credit for our Tripadeal package to Europe (paid in full on our Visa Credit Card almost 12 months ago). As a retired lawyer I had been preparing for Tripadeal to extend a credit note rather than a refund and was never going to accept a credit voucher on Tripadeal's terms. Fortunately we had paid by credit card and therefore was able to raise a dispute or charge back with Visa credit card via our bank. This charge back dispute via our credit card saw Visa reverse the Tr...ipadeal transaction and we received our money back. It was quick, simple and we didn't have to talk to Tripadeal at all, only with the credit card representative. In the end common sense prevailed, Tripadeal had not committed any money on our behalf (to Qantas or our hotel) and therefore were unable to fulfil the transaction so our credit card reversed the transaction. I am sympathetic about the impact COVID has had on Tripadeal and the broader tourism industry in Australia but no business can't justify not refunding customer's cash especially when airlines and merchants have provided refunds to Tripadeal on our behalf. good luck.

How did everyone get such good response from Trip A Deal? I've emailed numerous times and get no where, just the usual response we will get back to you closer to the time you're due to travel, guess what!!!, I've heard nothing and our trip was the beginning of November, no offer, no nothing and every time I email, the same response we will get back to you as soon as we can. Covid has been around since February, we are now in November, Ive been emailing on and off over that whole time so don't understand these positive reviews.
I booked a trip to China for this year and of course it was cancelled I did get a credit from tripadeal is there a chance I can get a refund and get my money back as it has been a difficult year financial and I could really do the $3600 which they said is credit to me from $4000 I paid up front
I cannot get a straight answer from TripADeal on anything. I have 2 outstanding 'coupons' one of which I must book by 31 October when NZ (where I live) will continue to have closed borders until at least Jan 2021 unless I pay NZ Gov't $3,500 quarantine fee when I return.
I asked TripAdeal for a time extension to book (until our borders reopen to at least Aust. holidays as I think that will reopen first). I got a reply that said "no extension". Seems written in legalise as confusing to me, I guess to ensure TripADeal commit to nothing which has been their approach to trying resolve both my 'deals' over last 6 months. How can any org that doesn't want to go out of business treat their former customers so poorly - I did email back for clarification on one issue - no reply; impossible to reach by phone, and prerecorded phone message re their contact hours is wrong, and one of their previous 'free' phone numbers is now assigned to a goods carrier. Maybe they couldn't pay their phone account.
What are they doing with all their tax/airline ground fees etce for untaken flights when they lawfully should be repaid to the traveller when flights don't fly?
QUESTION - How do I talk to someone without line cutting off after a limited number of rings? Hoe do I get a reply to my email - I am 70 yo and a bit thick so I want help/advice; not a fob off.

I would go to the ACCC& NCA depending on where you live, I have lodged a complaint with the ACCC for starters, there could be a clan action claim against them coming shortly

We have found them ok to deal with.
A bit slow. But they must be going through extremely busy times with the Covid situation.
We obtained our refund less a small fee for our trip due to start end August.
We asked for a BER.
We chose to not go down the NCAT route.
