Very poor behaviour
We were due to depart Sydney 15 April '20 for Europe, but the trip was cancelled by tripadeal. A normal situation would have been that you receive a full refund. But with covid and all travel up in the air, we thought it would be helpful to agree to a credit note, imagining we would be rebooking soon anyway. Now it's nearly September and have realised we are probably going no where for a long time. We have asked tripadeal for a refund on our unused credit note valued at $8300. So far, no reply and waiting. Rae M.
We were offered a credit voucher which we accepted when our China trip was cancelled in May. Since then the deal has changed to be used for any trip other than China. We would like to use the voucher in NSW where we live as we will not be able to travel overseas anytime soon and travel interstate is also restricted with border closures. There are lots of trips in every state but NSW. 2 previous offers of Sydney hotels where we live and a walking tour from Canberra where Sydneysiders have been told not to travel to. A new deal came out today - a...hostel in Byron Bay with shared bathrooms and kitchen. Your terms and conditions state we have to use the voucher in a timely manner. Please provide us with reasonable deals in NSW which enable us to do so.
Poor customer service - they’ll keep your money!!
I was just extremely disappointed with…
I was just extremely disappointed with my dealings with TripAdeal as they have a very poor manner of customer service. Coming close to our travel date in May, they did not communicate any updates about COVID. Continue to chase we finally received a general email notification 4 weeks before our travel date stating that it was cancelled And refunds would not be granted but only credit. With not knowing what the future held I politely asked for a refund where I continually got ignored. After serval emails an...
Hard to deal with
Very frustrated with this company. Our European trip was cancelled due to Covid-19. Two of my three travelling companions will more than likely not be able to travel next year and beyond due to health issues. We requested a credit to be used to travel within Australia (this was after our refund request was denied). Told we can only use the credit for travel in Europe. All our emails and requests fell on deaf ears. TripADeal has a response for everything (that’s when they actually respond). So disappointed. Have never travelled overseas and thanks to this lot probably won’t anytime soon as I’m pretty sure I’m going to lose my money. Can’t believe they are still advertising trips.
Very dishonest company
Having booked and paid for an overseas tour that has been cancelled by Tripadeal (TAD), I would expect that the majority of funds would be refunded to me, as requested by me on several occasions. Especially so as the airline has cancelled and refunded flight costs to other passengers and because of the lead time between COVID-19 hitting and the date of the tour, meaning that other costs would not have been paid by TAD. Tripadeal has chosen to keep my hard earned money. It is a scandalous situation and extremely disappointing especially for my fellow traveller who lost their employment through COVID and makes losing the money even more sad. Would give a zero star rating if I could.

Booked early January for Sri Lanka Maldives tour in September, obviously no longer going ahead. Tripadeal refusing to refund over $7000 stating Sri Lankan airlines are not offering refunds however I've contacted the airline and they have said they are refunding but I need to contact TAD to claim my refund. They told me to cancel the trip and claim on my insurance. The insurance will reject the claim as its covid related then TAD will refuse refund or credit stating if you cancel you forfeit money as per the terms of their contract, it is seen a...s a change of mind and no refund will be given, talk about bullying tactics. Surprise surprise they won't even answer my emails now. This company is crooked and think they are above the law. ACCC complaint lodged next step NCAT hearing. I will never use these crooks again.
Great service !
I had a long awaited holiday booked to Tangalooma Resort, unfortunately I live in NSW and am unable to get there, I was so impressed TripADeal reached out to me via email and offered the chance to change my date, no fuss, such an easy process, great work TripADeal, keep up the good work, I understand it's a difficult time at the moment.
Just so wrong
Refuses to pass on any refund when TAD have received refund from airline. They keep using the "we have a no refund policy" line which, in normal circumstances, is ok. 2020 is not normal circumstances. Normally non-refundable air tickets wouldn't have been refunded but the airline changed their policy due to the pandemic. One of the air tickets in question was just an air ticket not part of a bundled package and they are even refusing to refund that. We are only seeking a refund of the 5 x airfares which we know they have received back from the airline.
Trip A Deal - No Refund
We booked a trip to Egypt, Turkey and Jordan departing in May with TripADeal and unfortunately due to coronavirus our trip was cancelled in April. We were informed by TAD that only two options existed for us and neither were a refund and both option meant more out of pocket expenses. I have since learned from others in our situation that they are offering some people a best endeavor refund however this was never offered to us. I, along with my husband am out of pocket $12,000 and my mother is out $7000 with no word from TAD apart from a looming...date that we must accept one of their offers by 30/8 or get nothing. Very frustrating and disappointing as none of us did anything wrong, our trip was cancelled through no fault of our own and they are still trying to take money from us even though we can't actual travel. We have decided to fight them and hope for resolution in the near future.
3 Trips booked, none will proceed - no refund
“Trip A Deal Pty Ltd” causing financial stress to me personally. I’m out of pocket ($21,707.18) with TRIP A DEAL PTY LTD holding all my funds and not refunding any of the $21,707.18 despite not delivering any of the services.

If it wasn't for me reaching out again to TripADeal I wouldn't have been able to get what I asked for. I understand that this doesn't always work in the customers favour however I think it helps to reach out rather then complain on here or on Facebook or on any public forum. Just a thought as I did this and was able to get something better then my first offer they provided me with.
Please stop whinging and portraying your negativity
Dear whinging people - be grateful that companies like Trip A Deal are making an effort to keep tourism alive in our country and stop being greedy people. I've travelled with Trip A Deal a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience they offer - a cheap affordable holiday to amazing destinations around the world (we travelled to India back in 2018 and later to Borneo in 2019). Having previously worked in the travel industry in a past career life, I know very well what it's like to enjoy such an amazing industry and business like Trip ...A Deal are the reason why us Aussies have been able to travel abroad cheaply. Remember, you booked a holiday with a business that heavily discounts its products so that YOU, the consumer can go off on a cheap holiday abroad. It makes sense that you won't get all your money back nor that you may not be entitled to a refund. Think of it this way, if you buy a dress in a small business boutique on sale, typically you won't be able to get a refund, nor are you usually entitled to a credit note. So the fact that a travel business that has prided itself on delivering cheap and affordable travel packages to everyday Australians is even offering you something is a good thing. Stop playing the victim. Stop waving your legal rights and move on and stop trolling business’s like Trip A Deal. I know I will most likely get backlash for this post but please keep in mind your credits go a long way and if your not opting for a credit and opting for a refund it’s more likely the company won’t exist so please keep this in mind.
Terrible and unethical company - DO NOT USE!!!
Booked a trip for just over $10,000 through Tripadeal last November.
Understandably, they cancelled my trip due to Covid-19. However, they have refused to offer any refund and have advised they won't be refunding my money because they book through different suppliers and are there for not responsible.
I have lost all the money I paid for the trip and have received nothing for it. Please do yourself a favor and steer clear of this unethical company!

Avoid at All Cost - or it will cost dearly
Enjoyed a TripADeal trip last year which went very well so chose to go again in 2020. Unfortunately COVID kicked in and the world closed down - not much TripADeal could do about that. But what they could do is be open and honest with their clients about the fallout, but failed that test miserably. Instead they chose to send misleading information about available options accompanied by ridiculously short deadlines to accept with the threat of no compensation whatsoever if their offer was not accepted. And then those threats turned out to be q...uite hollow as, only after strong pushback further options miraculously appeared. The only saving grace was the entertainment they provided thru the laughable internal inconsistencies in their messaging which they were evidently not smart enough to recognise. Just an unpleasant company - as is said, good customer service is easy when the going is good, the real test is how adversity is handled.
Thank you for answering my questions
Thanks to Billy for assisting me with all my questions about my upcoming trip. I was so concerned and she was able to assure me that we will be updated soon with information. Just being able to speak to someone is nice. Thanks Billy you were a treasure to speak with.
They have lost many future customers
We booked a trip. Covid strikes. They mislead us saying we can accept a voucher or nothing. So we accept, only to find out we should of been entitled to a refund if we wanted one. We go back and say we would like a refund due to those factors. Nope can’t help now. Looks like slater and Gordon class action it is!
Paid for Tour to South America in late Feb 2020, departing 18th August 2020, obviously cancelled due to Covis19. After several emails to TAD asking for information, I received a couple of generic emails but nothing directly to me with answers to my questions, until finally 4 weeks from departure a credit offer was made, ( I should consider myself lucky as many didnt even get that). Even this email was addressed as Dear Travellers.
I want a refund, still no answers to my questions. Very unlikely 3rd parties late Feb ever received any money or ...
Questions & Answers
How did everyone get such good response from Trip A Deal? I've emailed numerous times and get no where, just the usual response we will get back to you closer to the time you're due to travel, guess what!!!, I've heard nothing and our trip was the beginning of November, no offer, no nothing and every time I email, the same response we will get back to you as soon as we can. Covid has been around since February, we are now in November, Ive been emailing on and off over that whole time so don't understand these positive reviews.
I booked a trip to China for this year and of course it was cancelled I did get a credit from tripadeal is there a chance I can get a refund and get my money back as it has been a difficult year financial and I could really do the $3600 which they said is credit to me from $4000 I paid up front
I cannot get a straight answer from TripADeal on anything. I have 2 outstanding 'coupons' one of which I must book by 31 October when NZ (where I live) will continue to have closed borders until at least Jan 2021 unless I pay NZ Gov't $3,500 quarantine fee when I return.
I asked TripAdeal for a time extension to book (until our borders reopen to at least Aust. holidays as I think that will reopen first). I got a reply that said "no extension". Seems written in legalise as confusing to me, I guess to ensure TripADeal commit to nothing which has been their approach to trying resolve both my 'deals' over last 6 months. How can any org that doesn't want to go out of business treat their former customers so poorly - I did email back for clarification on one issue - no reply; impossible to reach by phone, and prerecorded phone message re their contact hours is wrong, and one of their previous 'free' phone numbers is now assigned to a goods carrier. Maybe they couldn't pay their phone account.
What are they doing with all their tax/airline ground fees etce for untaken flights when they lawfully should be repaid to the traveller when flights don't fly?
QUESTION - How do I talk to someone without line cutting off after a limited number of rings? Hoe do I get a reply to my email - I am 70 yo and a bit thick so I want help/advice; not a fob off.

I would go to the ACCC& NCA depending on where you live, I have lodged a complaint with the ACCC for starters, there could be a clan action claim against them coming shortly
Sorry to hear your plight.
I would call them to discuss your situation.
We have found them ok to deal with.
A bit slow. But they must be going through extremely busy times with the Covid situation.
We obtained our refund less a small fee for our trip due to start end August.
We asked for a BER.
We chose to not go down the NCAT route.
Wish you all the best.
