Still waiting for refund or alternate offer - not a responsive company.
We had booked a holiday in good faith 4 months in advance, just before the Covid 19 outbreak. We immediately asked for a cancellation/refund but they advised that they were not looking at amending any bookings more than 30 days in advance. We believed our request was reasonable in light of the current climate. Every time we contacted them they put us off saying that they were not looking at future bookings. I had contacted the Office of Fair Trading who advised that TripaDeal failed to even correspond with them regarding our request. We have k...ept in touch with TripaDeal regularly over the past 3 months without once being even offered assistance. Friends who have booked with other companies have had their bookings amended successfully or cancelled. In my dealing with TripaDeal, they have been very unresponsive. We will never use them again. You don't know how good a company is until they have to deal with an issue. NOT if the booking goes smoothly. Not happy!!
My friend and I are really upset that Tripadeal is charging us a service fee for cancelling our tour due to covid19. We feel this is unfair since we did not get any service and we can't get our money back. Other companies like WEbjet are offering full 3-year vouchers. What does this tell us about the operation of Tripadeal?
Trip a deal stay away
Trip a Deal doesn't give refunds only a voucher to use for whatever time they choose even after they
couldn't supply the service . they leave you waiting for weeks they do not answer emails and if you are not happy bad luck. on top of that they charged me a cancellation fee of $ 200 + other charges .
What a Terrible company to deal with , they are going to loose a lot more then $ 200 as my followers
take notice of what i say . Stay Away Use Booking.com or Hotels.com They refunded me in full without
any problems .
Be very wary about booking through this company.
If you read their terms and conditions carefully (you have to view online as they are not sent to you upon booking) they are responsible for absolutely nothing just order takers.
If something goes wrong you are on your own.
We booked TWO holiday packages through this company, paid in full, 12 months in advance for a total cost of over $21K.
Unfortunately we had to cancel our first trip prior to its departure date due to COVID 19.
We requested a refund but were told in no uncertain terms that the...
Just got confirmation that I would lose $2320 off my $6999 holiday , so everyone complaining about a few hundred dollars be grateful. I am absolutely astounded that they can take so much money from you when you haven’t been anywhere. I knew I would be paying something but not over 30% for a trip that was cancelled not by me that they had payment of for 12 months. Buyer beware there are other companies that are honouring refunds with very small fees.
I voiced my request for a refund on tripadeal face book page, they have stooped so low to block me from commenting now,how immature!!!! Your reputation is in ruins and I know there are many people that will never book through you again! You offer a credit minus $600.00, are you for real?????? Why should you steal from the people that are paying you for a service?????? That you can not provide. Frustrated contract!
Would never book through you again! Many feel the same way.I have read the reveiws on the face book groups that have been set up for people to express their frustration with tripadeal. You are not doing yourselves any good by refusing to refund!!!!!
TAD l would not offer refund even though hotel agreed to cancellation without penalty. So who is keeping the money?
My family booked Japan ski trip for December before the pandemic. It was hotel only and had to book dates directly. With hotel. As we have elderly ppl in our party we will not go even if airlines open up I contacted hotel in Japan and they agreed to cancellation without penalty but requested trip a deal contact them ASAP so they could rebook rooms as it’s peak times. Trip a deal refuse to offer a refund as they say the trip is still scheduled’, so who will keep the money as the hotel has agreed To a refund. . I wanted to be fair to hotel s...o they could rebook and I thought TAD would treat their suppliers better This seems like a money grab from trip a deal. Very disappointing and absolutely no reason not to offer a refund even If they kept their commission. Totally lost my trust and business

This company was by far the easiest to fall victim too as far as pay for no service. Our group was asked to pay an additional $300 each peace of mind deal credit voucher. Then TAD said they would deduct it off the value of the credit. at no time did TAD advise a change of itinerary even after requests were made. I am after a refund for a service that has not been honoured or provided, let alone will ever be provided.
requests were made to TAD for all third parties details and receipts, still not provided. Food For Thought https://www.slatergordon.com.au/class-actions/current-class-actions/travel-vouchers.
My 73 yr old mother saved for two years to take my daughter and herself to India. Departure scheduled for April it was cancelled due to Covid. This we can all understand but tripadeal gave my mother an unrealistic ultimatum of losing all money or booking with them again before Dec 31st 2020 and if that does not happen, money will be lost
Never again. TripADeal - Australia's least professional travel company
My friend and I booked a TripADeal 14 Day Alaska & Canada deal departing 6 May 2020. Obviously we went nowhere and heard very little from our friends at TAD until after the date we were due to depart. Their staff are very well scripted but don't actually listen to what their unhappy customers are saying. After every call I felt like I was spoken to like a small clueless child. I know TAD have stopped responding to this platform but for some strange reason their own Facebook page doesn't seem to have negative comments/complaints so I may as well...have my say here. We have two options - re-book our tour but we have to leave by 31 May 2021. What are the chances we will be allowed to leave the country by May and who in their right mind would want to travel to the US without a vaccine? I had read that people were unhappy with 'supplier fees' of $400 well our Option 2 was a credit for travel until the end of next year but the supplier fee was $1300 each or roughly 25% of our total trip outlay. Initially I asked to reconsider the fee in light of what other people who saying. A well scripted response saying it was out of their hands. A second email asking them to spell out what the supply charges were - no luck - apparently telling us which supplier was asking for what would have been a breach of the privacy of other travellers on our trip. I tried to contact the ACCC by phone but kept getting messages to say they were too busy to take my call. Today I put in a formal complaint based on the fact that at the very least I believed we had a right to know what the 'supplier charge' was made up of. I also made a complaint to NSW Fair Trading. I know it's probably a total was of time but you don't get anything if you don't try. I hope TAD gets through this crisis - mainly because I would like to think we will actually get a holiday but also for the many hundreds of other travellers who have been promised credits. I would never consider dealing with this company in the future and will tell anyone who asks what I think - my comments will be factual so people can make their own decision. I'm sure in the good times they do provide a good product but this unprecedented crisis shows when the chips are down they can't be trusted. How on earth can you trust a company who are still selling 'deals' to places Argentina and Europe for later this year. Our Federal and State leaders as well as our medical professions all say international travel within the next 12 to 18 months is highly problematic. Surely TAD have a duty of care to their customers. I have no idea of why anyone in their right mind would be making travel bookings at the moment. I'd love to hear from anyone who had booked on our tour to see if they received the same offer.

We are due to travel on our trip of a life time tomorrow. 12 May 2020. 18 days India, Sri Lanka, Maldives. Still haven't seen an itinery from Trip a Deal, bless their Byron Bay "effluent" souls. We would leave on the unseen intinary that they so diligently organised and sacificed their smashed avocado breakfast to pay for so many months in advance. We so appreciate that Trip a Deal, bless their beautiful people souls, didnt wish to encumber us with the tawdry details of an itinerary which at our fragile septarian age may have caused us to be ov...ercome with expectations soaked in anguish and trepidation. It is so reassuring to know now that they have so kindly, such beautiful people, I Swoon, invested our 8 and a half efn Grand dollars with such diligence to enhance our trip of a lifetime with our overseas, sorry "out of our control," providers so many months prior to our departure date of tomorrow. What lovely emphatic foresight Trip a Deal We feel so blessed to be reasured by you that you are rolling your sleeves up and diligently sacrificing your time to assist your clients caught overseas. How, whilst witnessing such commitment, could we require evidence of your investments on our personal behalf. You must feel so vulnerable with all the reviews stating how you left so many of your clients to their own devices. I am comforted to realise that you beautiful people forgive who feel neglected, knowing you just wouldn't consider leaving vulnerable pensioners stranded on the other side of the planet. Trip a Deal you really are so beautiful, I understand why your heart knows that you are really so entitled to all the funds from all the pensioners and aspirants to be beautiful, like you, who have wished to support you by investing with you, to be part of the Australian culture beyond the greed of all that lies to the west of your guardian, Mount Warning
Do not book with Tripadeal
Let's all remember which companies looked after us during the Coronavirus outbreak and which companies did not. Charging us fees to reschedule our trip when they more than likely got all of our money back. They say they didn't but I find that very hard to believe considering most if not all airlines and hotels/resorts gave refunds/ rescheduling for free along with every other major travel company I know. Looks like we are all out of pocket and struggling so Tripadeal can make money off the side of a devastating pandemic.
No refund for cancelled trip - covid
Booked a trip to Greece and paid over $10k. When Smart Travel said Do Not Travel I cancelled trip and was told there was no refund. Extremely unreasonable and bad business. Email said read fine print. A lot of money to pocket as things like meals, boat transfers, coach driver, tourist experts would not have been paid up front. Accommodation would have been a deposit if anything and I believe airlines refunded airfares? Why are they making a profit from our misfortune. Bad experience and would not recommend
1st and last trip
Sadly, I thought I would try something diffrent and book a group tour rather than organise my own itinerary. Well this was a mistake. Communication is blanket. No proof as to why we loose $600.00 for a rebooking fee and we also felt, we were cornered into the peace of mind deal. The moral of the story we will travel on the peace of mind deal minus our rebooking fee. Never again will I book through a tour company.

I booked in good faith Quite a lot of money now happily negated by my insurance company
Which is there’s
But travel insurance secured at the time of payment
Months before the pandemic
So now ....
Has anyone else noticed the sudden burst of 'glowing' reviews? So many hundreds of distressed and angry customers and then this rash of positive outcomes. Really?? Notice how there are no details of the trips, credit or postponement arrangements in these positive reviews, unlike the many many more genuine reviews. Quite incredible. (For instance, who would purchase 3 trips without trialling one with the company? ) If only I might be offered a satisfactory outcome .......

How did everyone get such good response from Trip A Deal? I've emailed numerous times and get no where, just the usual response we will get back to you closer to the time you're due to travel, guess what!!!, I've heard nothing and our trip was the beginning of November, no offer, no nothing and every time I email, the same response we will get back to you as soon as we can. Covid has been around since February, we are now in November, Ive been emailing on and off over that whole time so don't understand these positive reviews.
