Shame, shame,shame Tripadeal
After 3 months of ignoring all contact through emails, phone calls and correspondence for a disaster holiday this company has now offered credits for overseas travel that they know can never be used due to the virus and closed boarders. Due to the short use by dates these credits can’t be used. Why bother you should just give us nothing, which is what you have given all along. Criminal
We toured Egypt as a package with Jordan and Turkey which were both lovely but Egypt was way below expectations. No Wi-Fi, no water and the Wi-Fi sold to us for $30US cut out at 500mb instead of 15gb. TrilpaDeal response....not our problem!! Never again!!
The trip of a nightmare
Ok...so we were on a 48 day World Tour with Trip a Deal. We sailed on the Costa Victoria..and after ports closed due to the pandemic, Trip a Deal did nothing. Costa flew us home. No word from TaD re reimbursement. Emails answered after 7 or 8 days, if then. This agent should never be allowed to trade again. A lot of angry passengers are trying to contact them....Julie.
Covid19 cut short my trip of a lifetime.
I did the Turkey/ Egypt &Jordan tour on the 2/3. I travelled solo, Amazing tour guides. Fantast group. Especially in Turkey, Accommodation was fantastic and the meals were delicious. Sadly missed out on Jordan due to Covid19. Tripadeal organised new flights home. They were amazing at keeping us updated the entire time. Can't wait to travel with Tripadeal again when this ordeal is over. Offered a $300 travel voucher to use 2021 but hoping to claim the rest back through insurance.

Holiday cancelled then we were left to fend for ourselves in Nepal. No refund! .DON'T BOOK WITH TRIPADEAL!!!
Our Everest Base Camp trek was cancelled 2 days before we got to our goal of Base Camp. Our guide was instructed to ensure we returned to Kathmandu to fly home immediately as borders would soon closed. It took us 3 days to walk and fly back to Kathmandu. We then found that Tripadeal had cancelled our flights and not bothered to book earlier flights so we were stranded in Nepal. All flights were now booked out and so we were forced to book with another airline at our expense. This was then cancelled as the airport was closed. We then paid for seats in a charter flight to get home. Hotel costs piled up. No help from Tripadeal, then or now. Just an email stating they will not refund us any expenses.
Do not book with Tripadeal.
26 day turkey Egypt and Jordan tour -9 March 2020
This was a bucket list trip I had dreamed about and now as I had just retired was so excited to have an Opportunity to for full this dream! Prior to this trip I had been I. Contact with trip a deal on a number of occasions and was assured that our safety was their first priority and that our tour was safe and would continue! 7 days into our trip we were advised that we would be heading back to Istanbul 2 days short of flying to Egypt after arriving in Istanbul we were advised that we need to pay an additional $1000 each to secure flights home ...even though flights were already included in the price of our tour... I contacted TAD about a credit for the remainder of our trip and was advised that all their suppliers were prepaid in advance even though our tour guide told us different!!! TAD also suggested that we Contact our travel insurance company to make a claim which I have and was later rejected as result of claims not covered by the current pandemic!!! This was to be the first of many trips I had planned in my retirement years and after this experience I will not be keen to trust or book another trip in the future with TAD!! I am so very disappointed with this experience and the service provided...
Bad form, bad luck and a bad taste..
During lunch in Rome on day 2 of our “2 for 1” Western Mediterranean tour, 2 aussie couples described an earlier Tripadeal Australia (TAD) package tour they’d been on. They loved it, mentioning that it was a “full price” package with a moderately sized group. Was the price tag on this “2 for 1” product an indication of what we could expect?
Following blanket advertising in NZ in early 2019, TAD was the broker we chose & paid for a 2020 3-week W. Med package tour. We found them to be responsive to our emailed enquiries during the sales process....This changed once we’d paid them. Automated “noreply” and “yourcasenumberis” emails with no follow up were typical prior to departure. After talking with aussie and kiwi travelers I formed the opinion that the aussies received superior levels of communication compared to kiwis. Before departing NZ, more “noreply” emails arrived advising of changes to the itinerary due to Covid 19 concerns. We were thanked for our understanding. At FCO Airport, all but one tour guide held small coloured, labelled banners & could be identified with ease. Unfortunately, ours didn’t - this made her difficult to locate. It became apparent that there’d been many cancellations which the guides were not initially aware of. In excess of 80 weary TAD clients were compelled to congregate & wait a considerable period while phone calls and revised roll calls were made. Finally, 4 colour coded groups were corralled, led to coaches and taken to the hotel. More changes & curtailments to the itinerary were announced on our way from FCO to the hotel.
Tripadeal has come through for us
We could not be more grateful to tripadeal for organising a credit for our 2 for 1 Italy and Med tour ( airfares excluded) in 2021 without us requesting this. We unfortunately were 2 days into our original trip in March when we had to leave Italy due to the outbreak of Covid 19 . While we were pleased to be home and safe we were all unsure what this meant for our holiday. Thanks Tripadeal this gives us something to look forward to during these challenging times.
Would review lower but it was not possible.
TAD were outright negligent in allowing this trip to leave Aus. I had to arrange my own transport home from Sri Lanka. Under no circumstances do not deal with them.

18 day Europe land cruise disaster
Booked our tour last August and after our last China tour with TAD we were excited. The virus situation caused some concern as we were due to start on the 10th of March. After phone calls to TAD on the morning of the 10th, they assured us that the Presidents statement of closing down Italy, the ABC and SBS headlines saying the same thing, that all the news was rubbish and everyone over there was having a "great" time, nothing to worry about. When we arrived in Hungary we were then told of changes to our itinerary and the cancellation of the 7 d...ay cruise part of our trip. They wanted us to make our way over to Vienna then Munich to perhaps fly home from there. Germany at this time had a huge amount of cases and Vienna was starting to close borders. As a group (26) we said we want to go home from here, (Budapest) which was much safer. TAD said they would give us extra accommodation in Budapest and pay for our flights home. TAD repeatedly failed to respond to emails from our group, and when they did we were told they were having great difficulties getting tickets. On the 15th they emailed us and said that we had better find our own way home as they couldn't arrange tickets for us. As it turns out we were able to purchase tickets within 10 minutes or so. TAD simply did not want to pay for them, and they still haven't. We were left high and dry in Budapest. TAD have not had the decency to even inquire as to our current status. It's interesting to see how good a company is when the chips are down. Their lack of duty of care is quite evident, and although we had quite a good China holiday, this time they have really shown their true colors. We certainly will not use them again, even if they do survive this crisis. Unhappy TAD customers. We have given you 1 star as we can't go lower.
No Contact - No Refund - No Communication - Had to pay own flights home!!!!
We booked a 17 Day 2 for 1 Italy and the Med trip back in June 2019. We had a departure date of the 7 March 2020. Everyone on our trip including ourselves contacted Tripadeal direct regarding our concerns of the Covid-19 crisis in Northern Italy but was assured by Tripadeal that it was business as usual and the trip would continue as planned. We asked about deferring our trip or cancelling but was told in no uncertain terms that if we did not travel on the dates booked that we would not get a refund!! For most people this was their trip of a li...fetime - turned out to be a nightmare. On arriving in Italy on the 8 March we were assured by our guides that everything was all good other than a few alterations to our trip that was keeping us away from northern Italy. All churches and museums were closed so the next day (9 March) with our guided tour, we could not enter any of these buildings. We had booked an extra tour through tripadeal of the Sistene chapel and the Vatican and this also was cancelled (we have not been refunded for this extra). The next morning (10 March) we found out that all of Italy was in lockdown. We were advised not to leave the hotel unless it was for food or pharmacy goods. Our cruise was cancelled on the night of the 11 March and tripadeal booked us flights out of Rome on the 12 March via Australia. An hour or so later we got another email to advise us that the New Zealanders among us may not be able to board the plane due to boarder restrictions - email below: - Our team is working hard to manage the rapidly evolving coronavirus situation and its impact on our travellers. As it stands right now, considering you may be restricted from flying on the scheduled flight as it returns to New Zealand via Melbourne - your options are listed below: - Proceed and attempt to board your scheduled flight. If you are restricted to board the flight, you will need to discuss with the airline what your options are. This may mean you will need to discuss alternatives with other airlines also (see below) - Arrange an alternative flight with Emirates (they have a flight that will fly via Dubai to Auckland) directly through their website and liaise with your travel insurance provider to recoup any costs. - This situation has gone from bad to worse very quickly, and we feel very frustrated that so many of our travellers are undergoing such uncertainty right now. We have exhausted all options available to us to try and get you home. Unfortunately, this situation has escalated beyond our control and want to give you all the information available to make a decision. We are really sorry that we can no longer help any further on this. End of Email
Trip a deal terrible
We purchased 2 for 1 italy / med trip in march 2019, it was to be off bucket list and very much looked forward to.
After media hype regarding corona virus in italy we like many others on this trip made contact and was assured many time that tripadeal had people on ground and it was media hype and that They had our health and wellbeing in mind and would not put us in danger. Trip went a head

A terrible experience with TripADeal
My mother and I purchased a 2 for 1 Eighteen day land and cruise holiday package to Europe from 10-27th March 2020. Leading up to our departure date we were concerned about Covid19 as Italy was already beginning to close borders and putting lockdowns in place. On the 8th and 9th of March I rang and placed my concerns with TripaDeal and we were assured that the trip would not be disrupted and everything was going ahead as normal even to Italy, and we would not be affected. The TripADeal representative refused to give a credit or refund and infor...med me that we would lose the full amount that we had paid if we didn't go ahead with the holiday and to contact the insurance company.. but we would unlikely get refund. We felt forced into taking this trip but put trust in TripADeal to put our safety first, they didn't. TripaDeal did not care that they were exposing us to the virus and they did not care that it was inevitable that our trip would be disrupted and we would lose thousands of dollars. We got to Budapest(first destination) to find out that our Cruise part of the holiday had been cancelled, surprise surprise. We then got told we would not be going to Italy and that we would be going to Munich instead and flying out on the 18th instead of the 26th March. Day 3 our outgoing flights from Italy got cancelled. Still no word from TripaDeal. I couldn't get though on the phone and received not one email. They left us high and dry and to fend for ourselves. We were then told by the local tour guide that we would not be going anywhere as the borders around Europe were all closing and finally an email was sent(not to me) from TripaDeal saying they were having trouble booking flights and that it would be easier if we booked our own return flights home at our own expense, as time was running out. We booked immediately and with ease. At the moment we are over $11'000 down with nothing to show but stress and anxiety. If they had just offered a credit in the first place we wouldn't be in this mess! And in Quarantine. TripaDeal breached their duty of care on several occasions and still have not corresponded. An absolute disgrace of a company. I have lodged a complaint on their sight and I am waiting for a reply. Do the right thing TripaDeal give us a refund. Where has our money gone? Complaint #00052557

We were on a trip to India and left Australia on 04Mar2020. The flights were fine and uneventful. Landing in India we experienced a lengthy delay through customs but not unusual.
There was no group meet and greet that night and no guide meet. Next morning we were all put on a bus and introduced to our guide.
The tour itself was disorganised and had plenty of time wasting adventures. We were hustled through sites such as temples etc only to be taken to textile or carpet or gem places which were all hard sell and to no ones surprise we spent much...

Disastrous TripaDeal Reference Number: 101144 Deal: 3111-ABORTED TRIP 10/3 -18 Day 2 for 1 Europe
TripaDeal confirmed by phone and email on 09/03/20 and 10/3/20 that it was safe to travel to Italy contrary to government advice. We could cancel if we chose to, but there was no refund and no insurance that would cover us if we did. The choice was blowing $7674.99 or go albeit reluctantly. TripaDeal sent 26 of us on our way on 10/03/20 to Europe out of a group of 100. (The other 70+ customers cancelled a tidy profit) While we were mid-air, they emailed us to cancel our Cruise from Rome. They assured us that our land content itinerary would pro...ceed via other locations. This did not eventuate. We spent the whole time in Budapest one day we checked out and then checked back in not even leaving the driveway. Our group streamlined communications to call [name removed] on a group phone call at Wed, 11 March 6.37 pm receiving a non-committal response and assurance of a callback that did not occur. With closing borders our itinerary was shrinking there was further concern we would be trapped and as worried travellers we decided to send an email on behalf of the group Fri, 13 Mar 2020 demanding action we received no reply. Sun, 15 Mar. 2020, 4:00 am TripaDeal sent us an email that stated: 'We are also finding that many of you affected are starting to find alternative methods home independently.' So we were on our own and had to book and pay for flights individually to get home on 16/3/20-over $3000 per couple some paid more as they had to take business class seats. It was a National Public Holiday in Hungary that made it even worse the phone queue was impossible, so we had approximately 2 hours to book a flight, pack in a hurry and get on the bus to get to the airport. People had to phone family and friends in Australia to book their flight that morning. They have not responded to requests for a refund of the flight costs nor have they contacted us to address the matter of not receiving what we paid for. The failure to reply in any way caused undue suffering and stress. The flights were not full so I'd like to know why the company couldn't rebook it for us. We couldn't alter our bookings because they owned the booking. I'd say we would all rate it an absolute disgrace showing a complete disregard for the safety of the clients once they have your money. "In the quite likely case of an emergency put your head between your knees and kiss your bum goodbye" (Chicken Run). UPDATE 19/6/20 [name removed] from TripaDeal with no Surname and a hidden phone number called me today 3 months after we returned paid over $11000 for a 4 night trip to Budapest to offer $600 possibly $700 credit for unused Emirates airfares. Yes, the ones that TripaDeal did not use to get us home. The generous offer is hardly comparable to the $3300 it cost us to fly home. So at a cost of $2772 per night seems a bit pricey. I told [name removed] that I did not appreciate being abandoned in Hungary and he said it was just my opinion. [name removed] tell that to my credit card [name removed]. Totally dissatisfied again. We were left with 24 hours to get out of Spain before everything close down..
There are 34 travelers, 1 tour leader, 1 bus driver & a hotel & staff very stressed.

3 tour groups have been dumped by trip a deal.at a central Instanbul hotel with no information forth coming re new flights. In desperation today was spent on the phone for 4hrs to our airline re scheduling our flights at our expense to return home half way thru our tour.If like some who managed to get Trip a deal to reschedule for them at twice the price..what a disgrace regardless of the extraordinary circumstances.
Add insult to injury we have paid for brk lunch & dinner for our tour and today we were informed by the dining room that there is no lunch provided.

Extremely disappointed with level of service
We arrived in Madrid on 13 March to find city in lockdown due to coronaviris, and booked into hotel on Friday night to be told everything is in lockdown. Our tour leader announced on Saturday morning that TripADeal we’re organising our flights home and we’d be advised as soon as possible. We waited Saturday, Sunday and Monday and were advised on Monday morning that flights had been booked and the whole group were flying out Tuesday morning. Two hours later we were told those flights were cancelled and we were on our own - find your own way bac...k to Australia! Don’t bother contacting Australian embassy, you’re on your own. You must be out of Madrid wi5in 24 hours as Airports are being closed - good luck! Disgusting service from TripADeal, because they strung us along since Friday (four days) then through us under a bus - you’re in your own, find your own way home!

How did everyone get such good response from Trip A Deal? I've emailed numerous times and get no where, just the usual response we will get back to you closer to the time you're due to travel, guess what!!!, I've heard nothing and our trip was the beginning of November, no offer, no nothing and every time I email, the same response we will get back to you as soon as we can. Covid has been around since February, we are now in November, Ive been emailing on and off over that whole time so don't understand these positive reviews.
I booked a trip to China for this year and of course it was cancelled I did get a credit from tripadeal is there a chance I can get a refund and get my money back as it has been a difficult year financial and I could really do the $3600 which they said is credit to me from $4000 I paid up front
I cannot get a straight answer from TripADeal on anything. I have 2 outstanding 'coupons' one of which I must book by 31 October when NZ (where I live) will continue to have closed borders until at least Jan 2021 unless I pay NZ Gov't $3,500 quarantine fee when I return.
I asked TripAdeal for a time extension to book (until our borders reopen to at least Aust. holidays as I think that will reopen first). I got a reply that said "no extension". Seems written in legalise as confusing to me, I guess to ensure TripADeal commit to nothing which has been their approach to trying resolve both my 'deals' over last 6 months. How can any org that doesn't want to go out of business treat their former customers so poorly - I did email back for clarification on one issue - no reply; impossible to reach by phone, and prerecorded phone message re their contact hours is wrong, and one of their previous 'free' phone numbers is now assigned to a goods carrier. Maybe they couldn't pay their phone account.
What are they doing with all their tax/airline ground fees etce for untaken flights when they lawfully should be repaid to the traveller when flights don't fly?
QUESTION - How do I talk to someone without line cutting off after a limited number of rings? Hoe do I get a reply to my email - I am 70 yo and a bit thick so I want help/advice; not a fob off.

I would go to the ACCC& NCA depending on where you live, I have lodged a complaint with the ACCC for starters, there could be a clan action claim against them coming shortly
