Cuba and the Caribbean
Far too many flights when some direct flights surely would be just as cheap. On our arrival from Melbourne in Cancun, Mexico late afternoon after nearly 2 days of flying, our information said we would enjoy Cancun for its beaches- well our hotel was hours away from a beach, so we saw nothing but the hotel. One night we flew from Havana to Mexico City then onto Cancun. After 2 &1/2 hours at the hotel after arriving at midnight we had to fly back to Mexico City en route to Miami via Houston. All in all we had 11 flights to go to Cuba and return ho...
Read moreme to Melbourne. This was the best part of 4 days. Some of the changes between flights were so short that we had to run or get help to get from one to another terminals, other times there was a big wait. The trip through Cuba and the cruise were very good. We were two women who were the oldest in the group and had more flights than any one else. I have traveled the world extensively and enjoyed a trip to Taiwan earlier this year with Tripadeal and was full of praise for it, however, this scheduling of flights is making me think again before using Tripadeal and believing the literature. EUROPE REVEALED 20/9/19
Quality of hotels very poor. No toiletries, safe, refrigerator & breakfasts poor. Too far from cities resulting in excess fares which we were not informed about.
Bus driver late getting us to catch TGV train in Paris resulting in people being manhandled onto train by staff.
Costa Deliziosa-Having done many cruises, this was the worst line we have travelled with. Staff not helpful. Activites all in Italian, so other nationalities could not join in. Food quality not up to standard.
Excursions were quite expensive & very ...
Poor organisation, arrogant approach to dealing with problems, Iam disappointed !!
Lack off information, or poor in formation, they only want your money and are not listening to feed back . I am currently on a tour and will not be doing another.

Review of Trip a Deal 12 Day China Highlights Tour with Xian option
We are experienced travellers, a married couple in our mid-seventies, and appreciate well-located hotels with lifts and no steps, quiet non-smoking rooms with private bathrooms with good ventilation, and other niceties. This review refers to the particular conditions we experienced; obviously others could be quite different. With all this in mind, we only mention here our main observations. We obtained our visas within a week directly from the Consulate in Sydney for $110ea. Wh...

Tripadeal 16 Day India, Nepal & Bhutan - Not for the Faint Hearted
Okay, this is my third Tripadeal trip. This is my first review. Accommodation is always budget. No frills but I expect clean accommodation, this is not always the case. It will be a while before I consider another Tripadeal "Deal".
Our tour group consisted of 13 people, great size. We flew with Singapore Airlines which was enjoyable.
India was unbearably hot, filthy, poor, beggars everywhere be warned. The amount of rubbish around blows your mind. I did expect India to be a little more civilised.
Taj Mahal was amazing. The highligh...
Read moret. Accomodation disgusting with lots of mould in the rooms. Sometimes no hot water. One room was so vile we had to advise our leader. Some of the people at the hotel working do not care so if you have issues tell your your leader.Don’t do two for one China
Would not recommended the 2 for 1 China deal at all. I have travelled all over the world and completed several tours in other countries. I have also lived In Asia, so was excited to visit a country I had not been to. However, this was by far the worst holiday I have ever been on. The other people in my travelling party and others on my tour expressed the following thoughts:
- Massive days, huge tour groups. We had 49 people. Often out of the hotel for 12 hours a day, walking around for most of the day. This is hard considering most of the tour...
Read more are retirees and well above 60 years. - Optional tours are ‘non-optional’ when you arrive. Told by guide that if we didn’t want to do an activity we would have to ‘wait on the bus’ until it was complete. This would mean waiting for 3-5 hours on the bus if we didn’t want to do something. Only one day we were given the option of catching a taxi back to the hotel. - we hours spent on the bus each day only to spend a short amount of time at each location. - Told to pay $12 a day mandatory gratuities in aud. This is fine and expected for a tour. I even rand TripADeal in advance to confirm payment in aud. The instructions state that money will be collected in three blocks of $36, $36 and $48. Everyone’s on the tour had pre-organised their tips. When we arrived in China they told us they could not accept aud coins. This means you either had to round your aud up or pay in yuan which cuts into everyone’s spending money. Information in the tour itinerary and what actually happened on the tour are not the same. I feel very misled by trip a deal.3 comments

Their trips are fine but customer service.......
As stated above, the trips they offer are great value but their customer service is woeful. Every call, with at least a 20 minute wait, elicits a different answer from another consultant

China 2 for 1
I find our trip very hard to rate. Once Trip a deal have your money it is bye bye customer. We had an incident the night before we flew and were berated for calling on the emergency line despite 5 calls during the day. There response was hmm your husband is OK to fly but at this stage doubt we can fix it for you. I did eventually pay 200 dollars and amazing problem solved. No money no fly honey.
The trip however was fantastic and our two guides Emily and Ivy exceptional. We did all the extras as we didn't want to miss anything and so had ve...
Read morery little free time which in retrospect was a mistake. 7.30am on the bus and not getting back till late was to much for us at our age but that's our fault not trip a deal. There were people on the tour who it was clearly not suitable for as moderate walking is an under statement. And trip a deal before you respond saying you are sorry blah blah and a supervisor was working all day (bollocks to that) to sort it out. You have my feedback. We travel 4 times a year at least 1 to Europe it won't be with Trip a deal not because of the trip but lack of service. I am surprised and disappointed Dan Carter lends his name to this organization.DarleneSouthwest, VIC
19 Day European Explorer - 5th June to 9th July
Firstly our guide, Angelo his wealth of knowledge for all places was absolutely fantastic.
If you book a bus tour, you need to know that, you spend a lot of time on the bus driving to each country, there was no toilet on the bus, that probably was a blessing, because the air conditioning was properly working. Our stops weren't the greatest, but you needed to get off, as our driver was a smoker, so when you got on the bus in the morning, it absolutely stank and when we had a 20 minute break, the air conditioning was turned off and he was having ...

China 11 day tour -You get what you pay for!!!! Sounds obvious but check it out carefully.
- Travel and accommodation was very acceptable
- of three tour guides one excellent, one acceptable and one shocker
- we felt blackmailed into taking "optional" tours
- forced to attend shopping tours

Completed the 2 for 1 trip-a-deal 12 day (10 day) tour of China in June 2019. Tour included the Terracotta Warriors. Overall the trip was good, went with an open mind because of the price $3000 for 2 persons. Contrary to what others have said, we were aware of the extra fees for tour guides & the ITOF of AUD150 for 1 person.
Flew with Qantas from Melbourne to Sydney & then onto Shanghai. A very early start when living 70+ km from Melbourne airport. Arrived in Shanghai and then by bus for another 2 hours to Suzhou arriving at the hotel ar...

Be aware of the experiences Tripadeal include on China deal.
Did a 17 day china and japan cruise. Value for money was excellent, however part of the "experience" your taken to a Pearl Factory ..... BE AWARE!!! They show you quality product and when you purchase your given gold plated crap!!! $400 for a useless piece of gold plated imitation jewelry. Contacted Tripadeal and they hide behind 'disclosure" they are not responsible..... they take on average 10 coachloads of Australian tourists (roughly 400) a week .... and take no responsibility whatsoever. I now discover other tourists had same experience and still Tripadeal has this association with the business...

Lots of wasted time spent on delayed flights
We have just come back from a 10 day trip in Vietnam.First flight Vietnam airlines was good. First two days went as planned nice tour guide for Mekong river tour. Our flight on third day was supposed to be at 11am we arrived at airport at 9.30 am and were there until 10.30pm at night. Disapointed that the airline they booked for internal flights was cheapest and always having serious flight delays, we finally arrived in Hoi An at 1.30 am in morning so missed full day.Next day no tour guide arrived so we had to privately book a tour ourselves oth...
Read moreerwise walk around deciding what to do.Our flight next day was to Hanoi which was early and guess what another 4 hour delayed flight! We finally arrived but basically lost another full day of our trip.We had also spent a fortune on phone calls to try to call this company to sort all this out for us as we we thought we were going to have to spend night on airport seats.Thankfully out trip to Halong bay, once we finally got there was good except the bus coming back on 4 hour bus trip was small and overcrowded.I am not sorry we went but disappointed that we were left to fend for ourselves in asian country with no contact from tour guides,we booked our own tours as hotels had no idea. Our trip was basically 6 ays as we lost so much time in delayed and cancelled flight so missed out on seeing and doing a lot of other sightseeing and nobody to advise us where or what or how to do it. I was going to book another trip but really thinking about it now.CrystalW.Metropolitan Adelaide, SA

Experience depends strongly on which guide you are assigned
Just returned from a 12 days Warriors of China tour. Experience is highly dependent on which guide you have.
In Beijing, Jing was great and the standout guide for the trip. She provided her mobile number to everyone in our group so in the event that we got lost, she could assist with finding our way. She was the only guide that did this. She gave insight into local customs and there was no pressure to do optional tours. She also helped us order food and gave recommendation for local foods to try. Accommodation in the Grand Chang An was terrib...

18 Day East coast USA & Canada Tour - Not what we expected
There were numerous drawbacks to this holiday, not only for us, but for all the members of our tour group. We feel that Tripadeal will be fielding numerous complaints from people in our group. Here is a list of some of our issues, which, unfortunately, will prevent us from booking further holidays with your company. We hope that by making you aware of these issues you are able to take them on board and ensure this does not happen in future to spoil other people's holidays.

Read mored and we arrived the following morning instead of 11pm the night before. We were told to find our own way to meet the group AT OUR OWN EXPENSE. We had to take a taxi at great expense. 2. The tour guide was Chinese and spoke broken English. This would have been OK for a Chinese tour group but not a busload of Australians in America. 3. The bus was old and uncomfortable. 4. Most people got sick with colds and coughs and it was highly attributable to the bus' air-conditioning.Find out how Tripadeal compares to other Booking Services

Experience will depend on pot luck
We booked a trip to China recently after hearing good reviews from others. We were booked on South China Airlines which would be possibly the WORST airline I have ever flown. Very rude staff, revolting food and filthy bathrooms. Others who had been prior to us had used Qantas and therefore started with a better experience. After flying to Shanghai we were suppose to have a short stop over before flying onto Beijing - however our group was left sitting at the airport for about 3 hours due to a delay however were provided no assistance or inf...
Read moreormation and nobody at the airport would assist anyone. If we would have started our trip where we landed that would have made more sense since we flew straight to Shanghai so it was pointless to then fly to Beijing to then make our way back to Shanghai later ? Wasted flight and waste of time. Finally arriving at our destination and into our rooms at about 5am (which was now day 2 of our tour) and then we had to start our first tour on this day at 930am..... The tours themselves were good although very rushed. Our guide was helpful and the hotel was nice. There is a LOT of wasted time with bus travel between tours in the same city and to and from hotels as they seem to book the hotels way out of town. Often this made the “optional tours” not so optional as it was either go on the tour or sit at hotel. After leaving Beijing and flying to Shanghai we were booked into a hotel that was over 90 minutes each way from our tour locations each day (which were all in the city area ) therefore each day we had to spend 3 hours + on the bus driving back and forward to the same place rather than staying closer and having more time to look around - it was all super rushed. On many occasions there was little time to get a meal at all. When it says that some meals are not included, i would have thought you would therefore have the options to buy them, but on many occasions there was just no meal at all and it was not unusual to either have to grab McDonalds or go without !!! Others who we spoke to later said they had meals at nice places for lunch and dinner every day so again, it would appear that it is pot luck with your guide and tour timings . Again in Shanghai as our hotel was so far from the main areas the “optional tours” were not so optional. Even on the last day as our flight was at 8pm that night we were given the “option” of another tour that we had to pay for and if we didn’t do that we had to make our own way to the airport !!!!! Other people who had done this tour seemed to stay in better locations and therefore had more time to explore and eat, and look around. Also the guide you have will have a massive impact on your trip... One of our guides was good and the other was dismissive and could not have helped less. If you are looking for a cheap way to see the Great Wall etc then this would be ok however be mindful that it is rush rush rush and pot luck on the guides and hotels.Terrific good value 15 days China & 5 Star Hainan Island Trip (standard)
For my wife and I the tour had many positive experiences and memories, to name a few:
- easy straight forward booking process
- five star Hilton Hotel in Meilan Haikou, friendly and helpful hotel staff
- friendly accommodating and helpful Tour guides with a good grip of english with the
exception of one Tour guide who as much as she tried at times was quite hard to
understand
- organised and timely send offs at airports, trains etc
- iconic monuments and structures such as the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Hutong,
traditional gardens to name a few
- Golden Mask performance...

China Experience
Just returned from a 15 day trip to China. The flight over was excellent with Capital air. Business class seats were part of our deal.
When on the ground, we found the Chinese people to be extremely friendly in the main. They seemed quite taken with the Aussies, and often videoed us or wanted photos with us.
"Amazing" driving skills witnessed. Seems to be a total disregard for many standard rules. A pedestrian crossing is certainly not respected, cars seem to go wherever they wish, electric bikes don't have any rules.
The trip itself was quit...

China tour with Hainan Island stopover 15 days
If you like large group touring TripADeal is a great option, but remember once you pay for your tour you’re just a number our flights were changed numerous times and our trip home to Sydney was 31hours from Changsha. We were left on our own with no English speaking staff at the airport to help with the transfer to accommodation at 2am, no accommodation that night, no breakfast..too bad the tour had finished.
Tipping is a joke and yes it’s $12 person per day they would prefer you to pay $25 per couple for what we still can’t work it out, you ev...

Problems weren't resolved nicely, and cost us A$1,000 extra
We had a recent 2 week trip to Japan. The trip itself was good, but obviously budget in that for example, the hotel in Tokyo was way out from the city centre. Not a real problem.
Our issue was what happens when things go wrong, and that is where TripADeal fell down. My wife is travelling on a Chinese passport which means she has to get a visa for Japan. Just recently her 90 year old father was put in hospital, and so she needed to go back to China. To get a Japanese visa while in Australia we needed a plane ticket, and TripADeal doesn't normal...
Read morely give those out 3 months in advance which was what we needed: get the visa, then my wife goes to China. TripADeal did come good on that and gave us a ticket, but that backfired later. She went back to China, but then decided it would be better if we could postpone the trip. Talking to the Sales front, there was an alternative date later, but then Customisation said no - since the plane ticket had been issued, no way of changing it. Well, the actual flights later WERE changed by TripADeal, so that response was false. That was after they had taken 3 weeks to respond to emails. They also said it was too late to change (after that 3 week failure to respond). The flight transited through GuangZhou. Could my wife skip the Melbourne to Guangzhou link and join the flight in Guangzhou? No, said TripADeal, the airline won't allow that.I can't verify if that is the case. So we had to pay an extra A$1,000 for her to travel from Beijing to Japan to join the tour, when it would have been much cheaper to take a domestic flight and join in Guangzhou. So good budget tour if things go right, but potentially expensive if anything unusual happens.Questions & Answers
