china 12 Day 2 for 1
arrival at Beijing hotel from flight was at 1.30am of the first sightseeing day Forbidden City sight starting at 8am
Most days we were on bus from 8am to 6pm and on some days 8am to 10pm returning to hotel ( because it was so far out of the city)
hotel in shanghai was 1 and half hours drive out of city. spent most of the sightseeing day in traffic due to location of hotel not being central.
the great wall was the great square - even walking to the very top of an extremely steep incline, i could not see any wall continuing ...
Disappointed with the room - facing a huge wall!
Two night at The Oaks Waterfront, The Entrance.
It was a huge disappointment to find the hotel room we got on arrival was that more than half of our balcony was facing a huge wall and no way like the advertisement. We asked if we could move to another room, we were told we have to pay extra. We were happy to pay extra for a room NOT facing a wall but were told nothing was available.
If we knew this was what we would get, we would not have booked through Tripadeal.

Basically paid for hotel and transfers.
Firstly, sorry for the length of this review. We have done 2 previous trips with Trip a Deal. (TAD)
Satisfied enough to book a third, 19 days Sardinia, Sicily & Malta. Like most of the 36 travellers on this trip we were so disappointed. Accommodation was generally OK but so far from anywhere that we were stranded for the night. We would be consistently taken to the town centres for a short walking tour and left stranded for hours and told to meet at a point. There was no substance in this entire tour.
I have not gone into too much detail about...
Trip a Deal - "Double Thumbs Up"
From our perspective this tour was great value for money. (12 Day two for one China Odyssey) You get a wonderful "Snapshot" of China. The majority of the accommodation was 4 star and the tour guides Adam, Sam, Thomas and Hugh were friendly, humorous, informative and extremely helpful. The bus drivers also, were courteous, helpful and efficient. The fast train connections were a fun way to transfer to the other cities and we got to connect with other people in our group while we were mostly sharing the same carriage. There were many highligh...ts including the side trips to the Silk Factory, Tea Village, Terracotta Warriors & Shaolin Temple. The home visit and meal was really interesting, and our Q and A with the family allowed us to better understand the Chinese culture. I felt from a group perspective, most people were keen to walk-about and tour locations eg. Suzhou canals; where they could interact and spend more more time with the "locals." The only downer in my opinion was the (Beijing Zoo); being of poor standard and I felt that most of our tour group walked away feeling very sad for the animals there. Suggest limit your visit to the Pandas only and then move on. Overall, we had a fabulous time, made many new friends and will definitely use Trip a Deal again.
I have been on 3 tripadeal tours over the past 3 years and cannot fault them. Any concerns that came up, and they were minimal as nothing is always perfect, were dealt with and resolved quickly and did not impact on the overall enjoyment. I have already booked for next year and am still looking at what is on offer. A great experience for those with limited time, who wish to explore other cultures and countries. Simple to use procedure and helpful staff.
Tripadeal China - Cherry-picking the Best
My wife and I and 2 other couples took the 12 day Two-For-One TripaDeal tour of China in May 2019. Here's a couple of tips.
First, we found it pretty good considering the price. The price kept our expectations low, so we weren't disappointed. Some hotels are really good, others less so. Plus, there are so many TripaDeal tours at the same time (I counted 8 buses at the Shanghai river cruise), and people do slightly different variations of the tour, for different lengths of time, and in different directions (eg, starting or finishing in Beijing)...- so people get put into different hotels (not from the same bus, but each TripaDeal deal might be different) - so don't always think you'll end up in a good hotel or a bad one in a given city. I'll do reviews on the hotels and some of the tours we did. Only a couple of the hotels had fridges. They all had electric jugs and toiletries. First tip. You all know about the $12 a day tip in the detailed notes? They dont take Australian coins, so dont bother taking heaps of coins as we did to make up the $12. They take Aussie notes and make up the rest in local Chinese Yuan () - so $96 for a couple for 4 days might be AUD$95 and a 5 note. Second tip. Pack carefully. Train security is as tight as an airport, but you cant put stuff in the "check-in" luggage as if it was going into the plane. It all comes into the trailer cabin with you. It is all x-rayed. Aerosols will be confiscated. A friend in our group had his $200 leatherman multitool taken. Some lost open bottles of grog. A couple of people also had big (as in powerful) non-branded power packs (portable chargers for phone batteries). My little $9 Aldi one was let through after a brief inspection. Third tip. Google and FaceBook are banned in China. That means no emails to and form Gmail email addresses or FaceBook messenger. Google phones are an issue accordingly. There is free wifi at all of the hotels, and Bing is available as a search engine. I'm not sure about Hotmail or Outlook for email. My iinet email account worked perfectly on the hotel wifi. So did internet banking. WhatsApp seemed a bit hit and miss - sometimes messages would go through, other incoming messages would arrive in a batch. You can buy a sim card at the Beijing airport with a VPN, but I didn't bother, so can't really advise.
We have just returned from the China tour with the Xian extension. It was a 2 for 1 package and as a value for money tour it was exceptional. All of our experiences exceeded our expectations, the Quantas flight was great, the tour guides went above and beyond to inform us and make our group comfortable, the hotels and breakfasts were terrific. It was an opportunity to experience a diverse culture and we learnt so much from this experience. Thank you Trip a Deal for your care in planning and organisation.
Egypt 2019 - yeah/nah.
Egypt itself was fairly much as I expected - crowded (there are 33 million in Cairo alone), dry and dusty. The tourist attarctions themselves were also up there - plenty of wow factor at seeing all that history up close, but crowds.
What let it down a LOT was the Trip-a-Deal side of things:
1. The choice of Giza hotel (Amarante Pyramids Hotel - a "self-rated" 4-star!!!).
Services. Wifi was useless, could connect to several APs but no internet.
Rooms. Aircon that had no operating temp control except the on/off switch. Again, aging, tired...
China and japan
We returned last week from eleven day tour of China and seven day cruise of japan. We had an incredible time and had many highlights including Great Wall, Terra-cotta warriors, forbidden city, and many more. The spectrum of the seas was amazing and where we went to in Japan was perfect. The tour guides were all very good and nothing was to much for them. The mandatory tipping for the guides was stated before we went and was understood and no issue for us. Visiting the jade, tea and silk factories did not put pressure on us to purchase if we di...dnt want to. There is a lot of walking but that didnt worry us. All the hotels we stayed at were excellent except for one. Definitely good value for what you pay. I had read reviews before I left and was a bit concerned but now I can say I totally enjoyed our holiday and would definitely go on another Trip A Deal.
Almost perfect, great value for money
We have just returned from 12 days Japan Trip. The whole package tour was very well planned and executed with no surprises.
Our highlights are the choice of locations, hotels and above all the tour guide/director. Cindy proved to be exceptional and probably the best we have come across in our experience of travelling all over the world. Her knowledge, commitment, attention to details, sense of responsibility, time management and extraordinary care was truly outstanding.
Japan, without doubt, is a unique destination in so many respects and we highly recommend TripADeal to prospective travellers.
China 12 day tour.
We loved the tour and had great fun .
It would have been 5 stars excepting a couple of comments. The alterations from itinerary.
1. Schedule the Shanghai museum tour around its open days when your tour dates are known. Not sorry its mondays and the museum is closed we will go to the Suzhou museum(as mentioned in the itinerary) which is a brick museum (not mentioned 2. As an overall comment to itinerary be up front ! Eg.Terracotta warriors itinerary mentions going to the reproduction factory after seeing the warriors we went their ist . The d...
Costly and No Value Added
Booked a "package" which included flights, hotel interstate and a cruise return. It was not cheap and it wasn't a package in that there were no transfers nor late-check-outs, early check-ins arranged to match the transport.
Arriving in Brisbane we were required to arrange our own transfer to the hotel [ $36 ]. Fortunately the hotel allowed us to check-in but formally we could have been waiting an hour in the foyer. The hotel check-out time was 11AM, while the cruise departed late afternoon, approx 4PM. The hotel stored our luggage while we was...
19 DAY CHINA JAPAN HOLIDAY
Just returned from 19 day China Japan tour. Very disappointed with accommodation in Beijing, bathroom was covered in mould and the carpet and curtains were very dirty. Also the hotel was not near the main centre. All but one hotel didn't have any English speaking staff which made small requests and directions impossible. Our tour guides and bus drivers were very good, but the buses do not drop off and pickup very close to venues. Even though we expected to carry our own luggage we didn't expect to be carting luggage up and down escalators at ai...rport and train ports. Spectrum of the Sea is a new ship and very big, again the staff were very nice but we felt that the Asian market was there main priority. We were very disappointed with the Japan excursion, we felt they didn't offer any form of Japanese culture which I would have expected. At the end of the cruise most Trip a Deal guest were unsure of whether they were to carry off their luggage or put it out the night before to collect the next morning on shore as we didn't know what time buses were taking us back to the airport. Overall not a very pleasant holiday. Michelle and Garry

2 for 1 Taste of China experience
Just returned from TripaDeal's 2 for 1 China highlights tour - overall a fantastic experience with our tour guide (Walker) on the second half of the trip doing everything possible to make it a memorable adventure. The only sour point was the optional Hutong tour in Beijing where the tour guide (Eric) misrepresented the inclusions. Documentation and explanation beforehand mentioned the tour through the Hutongs will be via pedicab, but once the money had been paid, he said the pedicabs were too expensive and dangerous and the tour would be a wa...lking tour. People not paying for the tour had the same experience through the Hutongs minus the home cooked dinner - a much better meal could have been had at a fraction of the price. The tour guide should have described the tour properly beforehand, or offered a refund for the pedicab component of the tour.
Sri Lanka and Maldives 14 Day Tour
This tour was exceptional. 20 fabulous traveling companions, a perfect Tour Guide (Thanks Dilhi for your expertise and professionalism) - a driver who we can't praise enough for his driving skills on tedious roads and the ease in which the tour took place. The scenery was magnificent, the hotels 5 star (Heritance chain - all brilliant) - service and food - can't complain. There was a variety of culture and history, the Elephants excursion was a DEFINITE must (we saw hundreds of them) - and although not on the tour - we all recommend you ADD ...the Turtle Conservation Centre in Galle (which we went to with help from tour guide) on our free day - and it was just awesome. Also thanks to the locals who provided the impromptu cooking demonstration - it was totally amazing. The Tea Plantation was majestic and the Temples fascinating. The Maldives were relaxing and beautiful, we snorkelled, dived, ate too much, drank too much, and basically wound down from the full-throttle Sri Lanka tour. A great ending to a GREAT holiday. I will definitely travel with TripAdeal again in the near future. AND recommend Sri Lanka as your next destination.

Been there done that
Trip a deal say they only have small groups!! We are currently on a China and Japan tour and there are 42 in our group. Also, not enough emphasis on seeing the country instead, going to pearl factory, jade factory, Chinese medicine and silk factory. Most of reception staff in hotels dont speak English so when you go and ask a question, they ignore you!!! I really believe they dont want westerners there. We are currently on our cruise ship Spectrum if the seas which is a beautiful ship but mainly for the Chinese. Most of the food on menu is for them. Ship far too big and tired of the pushing and shoving. Have no desire to revisit China but would definitely visit Japan again but not with trip a deal.
I have just returned from China 7 nights 9 days tour. This is my second tripadeal tour. Tripadeal is very well organized and fantastic value for money. Our tour started in Beijing with our guide jojo. All our hotels were very good, our tours every day were very good.we had celery in hangzhou and suzhou and Shanghai.celery was excellent. There are only a couple of negative things about the trip, first day we left Sydney at 11.30am Thursday arrived 5am Friday Australian time and tour started at 8.30am everyone was very tired the first day. I think trip...adeal should review the tour to the Beijing zoo everyone in our group was left upset with the condition of the animals and the way they were kept in a small space, they looked dirty, distressed and hungry, this tour should be replaced with something else maybe a museum in Beijing. Tripadeal is very well organized and fantastic value for money I will be booking another tripadeal tour.

Great guides make a great trip!
On our last night in Shanghai, China. We have had a great trip '12 day China Odyssey' I recommend this trip! There is a lot of travel involved however China is a big place! Thank you to our awesome guides, 1st Beijing - Jessica, your energy, experience and humour was greatly appreciated. In Zhengzhou we met Danni who looked after us for a short time before we caught the second fast train to Suzhou where our accommodating guide Rainbow, Rainbow stayed with us from Suzhou, Hangzhou to Shanghai. Dealing with many personalities and accommodating the different requests from our travel group. You all work extremely hard.
Great first TripADeal in Romania- Bulgaria. Value!
Hey TripADeal- no additional fees on our Romania/ Bulgaria trip. No additional activities/ excursions that incurred cost. All accommodation was within 10 minutes walk of centre, some closer. We paid $200 pp to fly to London first and there was no difficulty in adjusting this flying time for 3 weeks earlier. We made our own way to start the tour in Bucharest and arrived early and picked up a free walking tour.Tour has excellent accom and breakfasts and the free time around lunch was always negotiated. Lunch and dinners were sometimes with tour me...mbers by choice and generally people went their own way.We covered a lot of the countries with perhaps too much emphasis on churches etc. I polled others for ideas that would be optional extras. Food and wine in Bulgaria was great and also in Romania. We were not big consumers and only averaged $65 per day per double.
Questions & Answers
How did everyone get such good response from Trip A Deal? I've emailed numerous times and get no where, just the usual response we will get back to you closer to the time you're due to travel, guess what!!!, I've heard nothing and our trip was the beginning of November, no offer, no nothing and every time I email, the same response we will get back to you as soon as we can. Covid has been around since February, we are now in November, Ive been emailing on and off over that whole time so don't understand these positive reviews.
