I booked a trip Jan14 to leave Nov3. Considering the current situation, I suggest that TAD REFUNDS all tours for the remainder of the year. Nothing is booked at this stage and it is most unlikely that travel will be an option for the remainder of the year if as Australians we chose to maintain any control over this devastating virus. Refund NOW!!!!

Bad form, bad luck and a bad taste..
During lunch in Rome on day 2 of our “2 for 1” Western Mediterranean tour, 2 aussie couples described an earlier Tripadeal Australia (TAD) package tour they’d been on. They loved it, mentioning that it was a “full price” package with a moderately sized group. Was the price tag on this “2 for 1” product an indication of what we could expect?
Following blanket advertising in NZ in early 2019, TAD was the broker we chose & paid for a 2020 3-week W. Med package tour. We found them to be responsive to our emailed enquiries during the sales process....This changed once we’d paid them. Automated “noreply” and “yourcasenumberis” emails with no follow up were typical prior to departure. After talking with aussie and kiwi travelers I formed the opinion that the aussies received superior levels of communication compared to kiwis. Before departing NZ, more “noreply” emails arrived advising of changes to the itinerary due to Covid 19 concerns. We were thanked for our understanding. At FCO Airport, all but one tour guide held small coloured, labelled banners & could be identified with ease. Unfortunately, ours didn’t - this made her difficult to locate. It became apparent that there’d been many cancellations which the guides were not initially aware of. In excess of 80 weary TAD clients were compelled to congregate & wait a considerable period while phone calls and revised roll calls were made. Finally, 4 colour coded groups were corralled, led to coaches and taken to the hotel. More changes & curtailments to the itinerary were announced on our way from FCO to the hotel.
Planned trip to India
My husband and I have booked a 21 day trip to India in Jan. 2020 with Tripadeal departing 28th April 2020.
As we are all aware this trip can no longer proceed.
I have contacted the company several times and sent an email to comment on their "resolution" to the cancellation of the tip. What they are essentially offering is for us to make a decision to travel to India later this year by the 1st April 2020.Travel must be done by December 2020!
They are not offering refunds nor are they offering a voucher for our trip for travel next year.
Upcoming Mekong river cruise in August
Did anyone receive a full refund for their trip that was supposed to happen around now. Ive paid over $6000 over a year ago...I’m worried reading some of the reviews
Update on review
After submitting a poor review on TripaDeal 3 weeks ago for their poor communication during the pandemic, and the conditions around their subsequent offer of an alternative trip, I was pleased that the company contacted me to clarify my concerns. Furthermore, for their customers they have extended the expiry date on credit vouchers for cancelled trips due to Covid19. Hence, I’m now well satisfied with the follow-up and outcome. I’ve reserved those last two stars in my rating as clearly I’ve no way of assessing the actual trip, but will look forward to cashing in my voucher when it is safe to travel again.
Left to fend for ourselves
We were on a trip to India and left Australia on 04Mar2020. The flights were fine and uneventful. Landing in India we experienced a lengthy delay through customs but not unusual.
There was no group meet and greet that night and no guide meet. Next morning we were all put on a bus and introduced to our guide.
The tour itself was disorganised and had plenty of time wasting adventures. We were hustled through sites such as temples etc only to be taken to textile or carpet or gem places which were all hard sell and to no ones surprise we spent much...

TripADeal tour company
26 day tour to Turkey/Egypt/Jordan $5999
Note: didn’t get to do the Jordanian part of the tour because if we went there we were to be quarantined for 14 days.
Trip a deal really need to revise their itinerary.
They quote 5 star’ accommodations for the entire trip, definitely not the case. I would say most were only 3* and the only 2 that came a little close was the hotel CCR in Cappadocia and the Suhan 360 in Kasadasi, both in Turkey.
They quote tipping amounts you are expected to pay in Turkey and Jordan being $5us/da...
Do not like "Peace of Mind" offer
We are booked on the $4,199 September (Cambodia/Vietnam) TAD trip sold to and paid for by us in May 2019. Three days ago TAD 'offered' us a credit note less $598 're-scheduling' charge on the claim that in doing so they are absorbing significant cancellation fees levied by 'airlines and suppliers'. The offer is valid for five days. We note that we have received no flight tickets, no accommodation vouchers, indeed nothing at all to indicate TAD expenditure on bookings for us.
We notice also that TAD have now changed their self-description to 'bo...
Borneo departs from Melbourne 20 March.
Curious to touch base with any others who are booked on this trip. Any updates on this being cancelled? With the current advice from Aus government, it should not go ahead.
We have been given 4 days to decide if we want to proceed with our Europe trip in August and risk the lot or cancel now and receive a credit note less $500. The trip we are on is not on the future list of trips now so can not rebook for a different time. I have rung 3 time yesterday and sat on the phone waiting for a long time without getting to speak to anyone. I have not had a call back. We paid for our trip over a year in advance so you have had the interest on a lot of money for a long time. A full refund would we nice so that we can then book further down the line when we see a trip that interests us not just from what you currently have offered. Carol
We have booked trip to vietnam in may.We have been offered a credit note minus 299 dollars per person for cancellation costs.I would like a full refund please.I think ill have to go to dept of fair trading.
18day Incredible Europe 17/3
Thank you TAD for cancelling our trip which we would have been leaving tomorrow Mar14th. We are really grateful for commonsense prevailed. We now have 18months to take our voucher for the full amount paid by us and our grandson. It was a very stressful last 2 weeks.
Take your money and then ignore you
The TripaDeal holiday I had booked months ago to Japan seemed like it would be good value. When I think about it more and more, I should have simply bought myself some cheap airfares and opted for a self-guided holiday like I normally do. It would have saved me a lot of stress.
TripADeal have lied to me about flights not being cancelled, despite me getting notifications directly from the airline that my flights had in fact been cancelled. Japan is in the thick of the Covid-19 outbreak. It's a well known fact that many tourist attractions in Jap...
TAD Europe Tour departure date 17/3/20
Surely now TAD you will defer and hold all monies paid in credit or offer a full refund for travellers like ourselves who are due to leave for the Italy tour on 17/3/20. The World Health Organisation has declared the Coronavirus a Pandemic. An informed decision can now be made by your executives - cancel the tour, offer a 12 month credit or a full refund to your clients. Thank you.
TripADeal Europe March 17.
Just got off the phone to TAD regarding our March 17 Europe trip. I was told it’s still going ahead but going from Slovenia to Florence instead. The only way I can see this happening is if we go straight into the ‘do not travel’ zone to get there. I also called Costa & was told the cruise on March 26 is postponed till April 3. I asked TAD if they were happy to put our lives in danger & was told We don’t have to go. I said if We didn’t go, we would lose over $7000.00. She then said again, we don’t have to go. The conversation then went in circl...es for another 10 minutes or so till I eventually gave up. Please, TripADeal I’m just asking you to cancel this trip so we can a) make alternative plans & b) have an awesome & enjoyable trip another time. (We have used you before & loved it). I understand this is not your doing but please show some empathy & understanding back to your customers. Thanks.
Just returned from a 10 day trip to India. We paid to upgrade to business class, requested Singapore Airlines, and had to contact them on several occasions to ensure that this would happen. They kept on saying that they couldn’t confirm what airline we would be flying with but as we booked this 6 months out and being a retired travel agent, they had ticketed the flights and yet we’re not keen to advise us of this. We also paid to upgrade our accommodation. I had to call 3 times, less then 2 weeks out requesting our documents only to be told tha...t they had been emailed, and yet I did not receive them until after the 3rd request, so much for them stating that you will receive documents 4-6 weeks out !! On arrival in our itinerary, it stated that we would receive a private chauffeur from Delhi Airport to the Radisson Blu Hotel. We had flown from NZ arriving early morning, was told that we had to wait for other travellers to arrive, 2 and a 1/4 hours is not acceptable, then they bundled all 8 of us into a minivan - where was the private chauffeur ??? No early check in requested on arrival at the Radisson Blu, would have been a 5 hour wait to get access to our room, we were told that we could pay for an upgrade and gain immediate access into our room, we did this as after 16 hours of flying the last thing we wanted was to wait this length of time. Meals at this hotel - terrible, all buffet and all spicy Indian food. Meals were generally cold straight out of the warmers. I don’t have a problem with Indian food at all, but this was all way to hot and spicy for us. Spoke to the restaurant manager who advised that they would make available non spicy food but this did not happen. Luckily we had a fabulous guide and driver, which really made this trip bearable. Long periods of driving through out this trip. Second hotel in Jaipur was a budget hotel according to the manager, not centrally located, musty smelling rooms & leaking toilet. I spoke with our guide and he said that this was correct and we perhaps we should have been put into the more expensive sister property not the Hotel Sarovar Portico. We had a leisure day so we thought we would spend it beside the pool on the 9th floor......not happening!!! This area was absolutely covered in pidgeon poo, the pool, bar and all the battered furniture. It looked so neglected that I suggested that they close this area down until it had been cleaned. It was never cleaned during our 3 night stay. The photos at this Hotel show this area in a totally different light. False advertising. The meals here also terrible.....once again cold and way to hot and spicy. Very late arriving into Agra due to Donald Trump being there, arrived at our Hotel just after 9pm, had yet another disgusting buffet dinner and we were up and out of the hotel at 6am to go to the Taj Mahal, not enough time to experience this Hotel. Arrived very late that day back in Delhi, around 9pm, was collected and taken to the airport at 6am the next morning. All in all, I felt the trip was to rushed, very disappointing trip - when you pay for good hotels this is what you should receive....
Myself and 3 colleagues have booked a trip
To depart 16 March for japan. Our flights with Cathay pacific have been cancelled and we still have no idea if or when we will fly. While the virus is affecting many travellers surely Trip a deal have insirnaces in place that would allow us to reschedule our trip. Contact with trip a deal has not given any answers. We have been advised if we cancel we loose our money even though they have held it for 9
Months!!! Not very impressed with the contact being given
No option but to cancel
After two weeks of uncertainty we have made the difficult decision to cancel our much-awaited 18 day trip to Europe. We were due to leave tomorrow. We left it to the last minute to cancel awaiting advice from Trip-A-Deal as to what was happening with the itinerary as much of the trip after day 7 is in Italy. They kept telling us that the trip was going ahead as planned and they would notify us if and when there was any change. We were not willing to take the risk with our health and safety or our ability to get home. Consequently, after re...ceiving yet another message from TAD that there was no change, I submitted the cancellation forms. An hour after I submitted the request (which I have still had no acknowledgement of receipt) we got an email from TAD advising of an itinerary change from Venice to Florence. Too late for us to reconsider. Thanks for giving us no opportunity to NOT lose both our dream trip and our money. Will certainly think more than twice before booking with you again.
Interesting but..... my response to Tripadeals response re China trips and current issues
I am unsure if readers will open reviews and follow through lengthy posts, follow ups and personal responses.
I hope this post in a public forum will encourage others to read my initial review, Tripadeals response and my response to theirs. ( Saves redoing it!)
What a pity my communication with the company is being forced to be in the public domain.....
I do hope it is useful to others. I have not followed up their request to comply by their 5pm COB deadline as I have still not received the information requested, agreed to as of 4.50pm this...
Following up on my previous review I have now received a second email stating that the voucher can now be used for any other trip not just China.
Thankyou TAD for clearing this up.
