Hi, looking at sending some cartons of household items to Brisbane from Perth soon, do these companies Hand Pack containers, or is this needing to be Pallet Friendly dimensions for reasonable pricing? Thanks, Derek.

Do truckit charge a fee to customer?   DM

Hi Harry, Thanks for your question.

At this stage, TruckIt does not charge the customer any fees for accepting a quote or booking a job. When you proceed to accept any of your freight quotes, you will pay a small deposit via the TruckIt platform to secure the job. This deposit is a part of your quoted amount and is not an added fee. You will then pay the remaining balance of the quote directly to the transport provider.

TruckIt does however charge the transport provider a small booking fee for each job they secure. This is to help cover our costs and expand opportunities on the platform.

Thanks again for your question and I hope this helps. Should you have any further questions, check out our help articles at external link  or you can also email us at

Kind Regards,

The TruckIt Team

How do ensure your goods actually make it to the customer? What if you choose a freight business through the truckit site with perfect reviews but your goods doesn't make it? Is there an extra fee we can pay to have a peace of mind?

We made sure that the goods we received as we were there to greet them   DM

Hi Richard, Thanks for your question.

TruckIt aims to provide customers with as much info as possible in order to make an informed decision. As you mentioned, it is always advised to read the profile and reviews of Transport Providers that you are considering engaging. As well as the publicly visible profile and feedback of Provider's Truckit also provides other safety tools such as:

*Truckit Pay - Truckit's new secure payment system Truckit Pay allows customers to pay the full freight cost upfront which is then held in a secure third party holding account. The payment is only released to your Transport Provider upon confirmed delivery of the freight. This provides security for both parties. Check the 'Payment Terms' of your quote to see if Truckit Pay is being offered, otherwise consider asking your Provider to offer this.

*On qualifying categories of freight, TruckIt gives customers the option to purchase Goods in Transit Insurance from our partner National Transport Insurance when going through the checkout process. This gives added peace of mind in the unlikely event that something were to go wrong.

We hope this will help you make an informe decision and we thank you for considering

When i get a quote for $ 4500 do i pay that amount only or do i then have to pay an extra amount of the $4500. if so is it a percentage or how much would the total cost be?

Hi. The quoted price is the total price If I recall. When you accept the quote, to book it in Truckit require a deposit ( I think it was 10% of quoted price) to be paid, and then the job is booked.
3 minutes after I paid the deposit the truck driver rang me to coordinate time frame with me.
The balance is paid to truck driver on completion of job. That's how it went for me anyway.
My quote was approx $480 though.

Hi Adam, Thanks for the question.

Any quotes you receive are the total amount you will be required to pay. To accept the quote you will pay a small deposit fee which is a part of (not on top of) the quote, you will then pay the remaining balance directly to your transport provider.

The deposit works on a sliding scale, with higher value jobs having a smaller % deposit. The best way to see exactly what is required to pay now and pay later is to click 'Proceed to Accept' or 'Go to Checkout' on your quote. This will take you to the checkout page with all payment details but will not lock anything in until you complete the whole process.
