Good bank, good service, some fees.
Ive been with this bank for about 30 years.
Credit rating A-. This is a good rating.
Contact - excellent, usually an answer by a real person within 30 seconds. Email response is equally fast.
Interest Rates for deposits - medium with some exceptions eg 90 day term deposits.
Ease of use internet - good. Customer orientated, but so far dont use fingerprint recognise on Android app.
Fees - generally, you can avoid fees if Premier account with sufficient funds. They have gone to $1/cheque fee I dont like, but are generous with helping out eg searching for transaction information and so on.
I have preferred this bank for their service aspect, and they are generally highly rated by other New Zealanders. Just recently though, they seem to have changed many non-charge items to charges, which has been quite disappointing and the reason I tried out another bank Co-operative.co.nz (in another review).
Availability - online or all major cities in NZ. Not many regional offices though, unlike Kiwibank which has NZ covered.
Payments - are available fairly quickly, much better than overnight Kiwibank, but slower than co-operative bank nz.
Summary - if the bank had kept its low fees structure as original, I would have given it five stars and been totally happy. However, due to their customer service and reliable online services I would recommend this bank as NZ best bank.
