DONT BUY U BLINDS
The measure of how good a retail company is, is tested when they make mistakes .. and how they resolve them . We are renovating a bathroom and have been the victim of a poor measure up for shutters , our free standing bath was forgotten by the measure up person resulting in shutters that haven't the room to be opened ?
TOTALLY AVOID this company they won't correct their errors .
Shutters almost fell off wall
Plantation shutters fitted 10 weeks ago, pointed out to online rep, that the shutters were on the brink of crashing down. Rep asked if shutters were fitted by ublinds (duh)..
Emailed ublinds ,attaching pics , pointing out that they were dangerous and we were worried that they might come crashing down. Ublind said, that would get fitter to get in touch ASAP. Apparently, ASAP meant almost a week before fitter rang.
Really wasn't going to post a review .
However, just got txt to say that our goods have arrived (?), and that the fitter will be in touch within 2 days, and i should arrange for payment... I think the circus has arrived in town.
Nevermind, at least they wont be fitting any more in this Complex
Question their competence
Terrible service. I had ordered 5 blinds that Ublinds had measured themselves and I picked up 6 weeks later. Out of those 5 blinds, only 2 of them fit inside the window frames. We waited a few weeks for the other 3 blinds to be picked up and sent to be fixed and when they were finally ready again we found only 1 of those blinds fit. One being too big and one being too small. After another 3 weeks I was able to pick up the re-made blinds only to find our lounge room blind damaged. More weeks went past and a new blind was delivered which was...too big. This time the Ublinds rep called their installer and after waiting around a couple of hours was able to fix on site. I had finished work early on multiple occasions missing out on some wages and after requesting some compensation from Ublinds they said they could only offer me some Ublinds vouchers which I recently found out I would have to spend over $1000 in order to redeem them. I contacted the managers and they clearly didn't care.
On the 4th March I ordered and paid the deposit for 2 outside blinds. On the 20th April Easter Saturday Paulo came to install the blinds, very polite and friendly man. I paid the balance of order, Paulo install one blind but could do the other one as it was the wrong size . It is now the 16th May and i am still awaiting for the other blind. I phoned the office on the 30th April, as i hadn't heard from them not even to say sorry for the wrong size blind, to be told they didn't work the week after Easter, but they would phone me when the blind c...omes to the Melbourne office. I am STILL WAITING. I feel they have got their money why should they worry about my blind. This to me is awful and unprofessional customer service. I am so disappointed there has been NO follow up and No blind.
We are very disappointed with every aspect of our blinds which have been installed today - the 23rd April after ordering and paying a deposit on the 18th January. It took many follow up phone calls to achieve this. When obtaining the quote we specifically said blinds that wind up and down and we have ended up with rope cleats. This is our own fault for not reading the quote/invoice properly but when you tell someone you have had rope cleats previously and didn't like them and wanted something with a winder you expect that is what you have been quoted on.
Steer clear >1 year for installation to be complete still problems!
Blinds ordered - January 2017 told 6-8 weeks. Can live with that.
Actual installation 20 weeks. Installation was artrocious to the point where blinds needed to be reordered. Various random holes on blinds and beams on house. House was damaged during installation. 4 visits later (very high turnover of staff) solution is made - re order the blinds. This made after another 15 weeks.
Told another 6-8 weeks. Actual time 11 weeks. Installation next time was good, everything to an acceptable (i stress only acceptable) level. This is for blind installation only.
Another trip is made to fix the house and complete the actual installation. Another 4 weeks.
Yup up to 50 weeks so far and still not sorted. Now its xmas...
Poor after sales experience
Fitted out our whole house with shutters We Spent $0000 not long ago.. We try to use the warranty period ....now been Waiting for 8 weeks. Terrible after sale experience.

Ublinds Northgate Qld Maintenance extremely disappointing to the point of being a rip off !
We had U Blinds Northgate Qld. install shutters into 2 of our bedrooms 3 years ago for the price of $2884.00.
All the shutters have been cleaned and cared for diligently.
Being close to the ocean one of the shutters has corroded to the point of the shutter panels dislodging from the shutter frame therefore one can't open or close the shutter panels.
I called U Blinds and asked for a service call to have the shutter panels fixed. I sent photos depicting the problem. After many phone calls they finally sent out a technician for which I had to pay...
Terrible company to deal with
Very disappointed with this untrustworthy company. A young consultant came out to quote us in the mornington peninsular recently, we found him to be very pushy and evasive when we asked any questions. He quoted us up with the supposed 50% off sale which we found out to be a bogus sale, the sales reps can quote you that discount any time of the year. The quote at 50% off was still unusually high. Don't fall for their scams.
Still waiting after 4 months for our blinds to be finished...........
We ordered Plantation Shutters, External Awnings and Dual Roller Blinds in July 2018. We arranged installation on 3/10/18 and we paid in full. When the dual rollers were put up, some had white ends (what we wanted) and some had black ends??? The installer noted some were wrong, and said he would get the correct ends (all white) and return to finish the installation. He returned on 7th November - still wrong parts. He returned again on 26th November - wrong again. And then again on 9th January, and this time as he had the wrong parts again, he a...ctually took one of the blinds down and took it with him. Since then we have not been able to contact the installer. We rang U-Blinds on 14th February, spoke to [name removed] who said she knew all about our blinds, and she would ring us back by COB that day. We are still waiting for her call back. We rang again this morning 18th February, and [name removed] "is in a meeting". We have now tried the online chat...someone will get back to us. We have also rung [name removed] the Area Manager and left a message for him to call back. No one is taking ownership, no one is getting back to us. How anybody could possibly make these blinds and think they are ok absolutely amazes us.
After shopping around for a reliable company to get new blinds i finally settled on U Blinds based on all the positive reviews other satisfied customers had left. Contacted the company on the 14th of January and got an immediate response that not one but two representatives would contact me within 24 hours. On the 15th i was contacted by a rep. It took 6 days to organise an appointment. Fair enough i understand that people are busy. My windows were measured and i was told a quote would be emailed to me that evening. It is now the 13th of Fe...b and i am still waiting for that quote!! Ive have had no contact from the rep or the company. There was a sale on at the time i contacted them but i guess ive missed out on that too! I'm very disappointed with the lack of communication. I'm sorry you didn't feel my business with you was important enough.
The worst company I have ever dealt with and I would never recommend them to anyone
It took 5 attempts to get the blinds installed. They have never worked properly. [name removed] a director of the company wrote to me and apologised and said I must contact him directly with any problems and he would attend to them. I wrote to him 5 MONTHS AGO and he has never answered or sent anyone to fix the blinds. I have contacted their 'live' message on their website 3 TIMES in the last 3 weeks and despite all the nonsense promises, no-one has ever contacted me.
My husband paid a deposit back in late November/early December. Someone came out to fit our roller shutter, and it was installed incorrectly - wrong size and was scratched/damaged.
They came to take down the incorrect product, but since then we're yet to hear from them. Both my husband and I have followed up multiple times via phone, and no one calls back.
I'd like someone to get back to me ASAP it's now almost 3 months later, but it doesn't look like that will happen.
Smooth sales - lip service - on the Sunshine Coast. Waited the obligatory 6-8 weeks as coming from China. On fitting a component missing- job haltered -told the part maybe in Adelaide - they couldn't find it, so another was ordered from China- another 6 weeks until fitting completed. I had ordered plantation shutters that had a split control- but didn't happen- still waiting. Offered $100 refund, also still waiting. Do your research before you commit !
Customer service non-existent
Initial contact was OK, although showroom was messy and disorganised. Sales rep visited and seemed helpful but subsequent dealings have been woeful. Installers arrived and said they didn't have ladders & planks to instal the roller shutters. Said job would have to be re-scheduled & office would call to arrange. Despite many calls to office & sales rep over several days, still waiting for call back. This mob are hopeless! They just won't call back. They even send phone log claiming they've made calls that they haven't!
Be wary of this mob!
Have not received a phone call yet
Not sure how U Blinds make money as I called them last Thursday and was told someone would ring me within 24 hours. No call by Tuesday so decided to log on and see if I could speak with someone via their internet which I did and he said someone would call me that day. It is now Wednesday and still no call. Very unreliable, from the "no wait for it, still no phone call." Good luck U Blinds.
Terrible customer service
UBlinds Australia are a terrible, immoral organisation. We spent over $6k installing plantation shutters to our home, 2 days after they were finally installed 2 overhead shutters fell on my pregnant wife cutting her. The response from the state manger was shocking “Blinds just don’t fall out” implying that it was our fault?? We understand that humans make mistakes but the way that the remediation was managed was horrendous. A refund was denied even after an engineer had inspected and classed that the method of installation was not fit for purpose. No apology and zero compensation was offered.
We strongly advise people to not take the cheapest quote because issues like this can cause serious harm.

Whatever you do dont go with these guys. They are so incompetent. I ordered simple roller blinds for my home i was waiting over 6 weeks without even a phone call. I called some [name removed] in the office kept assuring me a fitter will call. 12 weeks later i got my blinds with 5 out of 6 being wrong!!!!! Terrible

Our experience with U Blinds has been anything but good. Could be funny if it weren't so annoying.
Out of FIVE veneitian blinds ordered (which took twice as long as promised to get made up), TWO were too wide and would not fit the spaces they were ordered for, having been measured twice by U Blinds "professionals". The two faulty blinds were duly removed and sent to the factory, cut down and eventually re-fitted well enough. In the meantime... one the other blinds, in the master bedroom, installed the first time around, had FALLEN DOWN. T...

Shutters ordered & 50% deposit paid on March 18, 2020 for our apartment on Chevron Island. Rep Kerry Knight said Shutters were in stock but in containers & expected installation in 6-8 weeks. 4 weeks already gone bye & we have been unable to contact anyone to get an update. Please respond
