U Blinds, can you please explain why all of the 5 star reviews are made by accounts that only have only ever made a single review.
The accounts are also made on the exact same day that they review U Blinds.....
Reviewing yourself or making fake reviews is illegal in Australia.
Crap product crap service, should be 0 stars
Ordered blinds were told 6-8 weeks 11 weeks later after demanding to know what is going on the come to fit them only half the frames are there so we wait and wait and wait after another 12 weeks this time the other frame arrives they assembled it in my lounge room (the others were assembled outside) the put it into my ceiling fan damaging both the frame and fan they then promised another window to be fitted with a blind free of charge for “good will” we now receive a letter of demand from there solicitor for this blind!
This has been going on ...
They make you put down a deposit of half total price immediately - Fine. Then pay the balance before installation, even if the product is faulty/incorrect or not. All made in China, so if its wrong, wait another 6 or 7 weeks.
We paid our original deposit 20th January, the balance 30th May. One shutter panel incorrect twice now! July now, so the next piece might arrive September if we are lucky. No additional discount or refund offered.
Total wait will be 9 months if the third attempt is correct?
We need additional products, but it would never be from this company.
Faulty Blinds - Terrible Service
Blinds were installed incorrectly. 3 contractors that work for U Blinds have stated the blinds are not suitable for the size window frame we have. I have called about twenty times and each time have been told "I will call you tomorrow with a solution" and I am still waiting after 7 months. Will take up with fair trading. Strongly advise not to order Screenaway products through this company.
Appalling service - job took nearly 2 years to complete.
I paid $8,000 to have plantation shutters installed in 6 windows and a set of sliding doors back in July 2016 and the job was finally completed on 26 May 2018 consisting of around 10 separate visits and two different installers. The first installer who had no idea what he was doing, used no more nails to install all the frames on the windows resulting in the doors being crocked and not opening and closing correctly. He also installed half a panel on the sliders (incorrectly) and never came back, leaving me with no shutters on a ground floor ap...artment and leaving my old vertical blinds in the middle of my lounge floor for me to have to climb over which I had paid for them to take away. Over a week later when I refused to have him back, I finally had another installer, Evan, turn up, who doesn’t actually work for U Blinds but he is an experienced installer they use often to fix up the botch jobs, them seem to keep him busy. After being assured by the manager that all the parts were there for Evan to complete the job, Evan turned up and said that there were a number of missing parts to the sliders and that although he could fix the doors on 3 of the already installed windows, new frames would need to be ordered for the other 3 windows. He couldn’t believe how bad an install the first guy had done. You would think U Blinds would be bending over backwards to make up for the disastrous results from the initial installer but that certainly wasn’t the case. Although they state it takes 4-6 weeks for the parts to arrive from overseas, the minimum amount of time it took was 3-4 months. Even then, I had to chase them up multiple times, leaving messages for them to call me back because you get bounced around the country depending on where their phones are being diverted to. One of the new frames that was re-ordered came back with the wrong measurements so had to be ordered again. Then when it did arrive, found that the doors had been buckled by the original installer so these needed to be re-ordered. I was told the manager would call me back on several occasions, but he never did. It took 2 emails to the owner and a phone call with the director to finally get my job completed. Even now, no one has called me back to check everything was completed satisfactorily or even apologise for the stress and time this job has taken. I will commend Evan who did a great job trying to rectify all the problems he had inherited and the lack of communication I was receiving from U Blinds. If they have any sense, they would take him back on full time because he is the only one who seems to know what he is doing and provides any quality customer service. I did send U Blinds another email once the job was completed asking about compensation for the fact that the job went on for so long, having to get the window frames painted due to the brown no more nails around the windows and the damage to the carpet and again, I have received no reply.
worst service ever from these people
ordered my blinds and when they came they were wrong so they made again every time they came out was wrong now its 7 months down the track and no one in there office even office manager cars all they say is order is complete where is my blind make it correct this time .
was told owner is going to call me because to hard to deal with .after 7 times making it wrong and 7 months down the track and not wanting to refund my money so I can get it made correct by another blinds maker they just hang up and don't want to deal with my problem ???
5mths to fix a problem
Went with Ublinds on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered shutters and roller blinds approx. 20th Oct 2017, the products were installed 2mths later, before Christmas. My order was approx $4k and I paid half at the time of order and half on installation day in Dec 2017. On installation day, the installer discovered that one set of shutters were not the right depth (the sales person had taken the incorrect measurements) so the shutters could be left on the window but would not fully open. On that day, the installer explained that a new f...rame had been ordered and would arrive in late Jan 2018. Suited us as we were away for a month. In early Feb when I hadn't heard from UBlinds, I contacted them and they advised that the frame was made but it had missed the Jan shipment. They advised that it would arrive later in Feb. Later in Feb, when I again hadn't heard back from UBlinds and the shipment date arrived and passed, I again called. The order had again missed shipment. This same scenario repeated again and again. There was no accountability or acknowledgement of wrong doing, just lots of excuses.......New Years, Chinese New Year, Easter, factory issues in China, the shipping company, Australian customs….….the excuses went on and on! The faulty product was finally replaced on May 25th 2018, some 7mths after the order was taken and 5mths after the initial install date and payment in full. Even leading up to the install date of May 25th, they did not call me to advise a date & time. Again, I contacted them. They also didn’t show up on 2 occasions that week. I run my own business and had moved appointments to accommodate them only to be told (when I contacted them after they didn’t show) that they would not be able to make the appointment that day. The installer advised that he had other commitments! In those 7mths, despite repeatedly missing their own timelines and promises, I heard from Ublinds a total of 2 times. Once in Dec 2017 to organise installation and once when I contacted them to advise that I was lodging a complaint with VCAT, the owner Chris called. My conclusion here is that this organisation may be ok (I don't know!) if nothing goes wrong but they don't have effective processes in place, adequate customer service or even empathy to deal with their customers when things go wrong. Lack of accountability is also a serious issue, not everything can be somebody else's fault.
The worst after sales service I have ever experienced....
My original order was placed with U Blinds in late December 2017 with an expected delivery of mid to late February. Well suffice to say mid to late February came and went with no contact from U Blinds. The following is a diary of events since that time:
1) 2 March, with a phone call to an answering service, with a promise of a return call;
2) 9 March, I again got the answering service;
3) 12 March rang and spoke to [name removed] who said my blinds came in last week and I should be getting a call from an installer any day;

Terrible customer service
I went into the Adelaide showroom on 13 April. Its 5 May and I still have heard from their sales rep. They have all my details and I not sure I could deal with a crowd like this. Spoke to Terry in the Adelaide showroom and he sends out the same old message. The sales rep will be in touch in a couple of days. Give this crowd a miss.
Great product, excellent installers, shame about the administration
We ordered plantation shutters in November 2017, and the last ones were installed on 20 April 2018. The actual product is excellent - very substantial, well made shutters - and the three different installers were all excellent (particular mention of Glen Montague who was friendly and super efficient). I regret that I have nothing positive to say about the administration side of the company - too many unmet promises.
Stay away I say - poor service
I highly recommend you stay away from U blinds- all they provide is heart ache and stress. It almost took 8 months to get my plantation and rollers shutters fitted after getting the measurements wrong, poor quality of material, there cutting machine doesn’t cut straight. I reported to be told there’s nothing wrong with the blinds. This was followed with installing the wrong plantation shutters and upon removal they damaged by windows frame peeling off the paint. They have extremely poor customer service and fo not value any client. Very disappointed with my blinds and all my family and friends cannot believe the service and quality I received for paying almost $6000
Never called back after quote.
After having U Blinds recommended to us, we booked in for the quotation service in December 2017. After a phone call in early January of 2018 explaining that they are currently dealing with priority customers and that they would be in touch, it's now April, and we have heard nothing! We have decided to go with another company who actually care about customer service and getting the job booked in. Very disappointing.
Slow service with abysmal follow up customer service. I am into my 9th week now waiting for my roller blinds of which I have paid the full amount for. I was originally told 2 to 3 weeks once U Blinds took my 50% down payment. After waiting 5 weeks I called the head office to be told my blinds had "just arrived". After having to call several more times to arrange installation as the installer assigned to me couldnt organise a time and date I finally was able to get my blinds installed. This was when I was made to pay the remaining balance for th...e product. The installer then began installing the blinds only to identify that 1 blind was missing and another was 1m too short. After I spoke to head office again on this day I was told the remaining 2 blinds would arrive in 5 to 7 working days. Today is the 11th working day and I still hadn't heard from U Blinds. So today I rang the company only to be told that they are waiting for their manufacturer to make the blinds and send them up to Brisbane. I was also told they wouldn't be ready to be installed until next week most likely. That will be the 10th week. Keep in mind U Blinds received 50% of my money 10 weeks ago and the remaining balance 4 weeks ago. Do not waste your time or money with this pathetic company. I am still unsure if I will even receive the remaining 2 blinds. Disgusting service and very poor business ethics.
Terrible - cant even get in contact to get a quote!
Terrible customer service. Don't return phone calls. You have to chase them. They do not deliver what they say that will. Cant even get a quotation booked in to see what i am up for! Absolutely ridiculous! Do not waste your time..!

I ordered my shutter in October for summer.
No communication from office staff.
Did not return phone calls and neither did one of the managers...no apologies from anyone.
I had to do all the running around.
First installer couldn't fit the shutter just complained about having to be there.
Finally was installed yesterday 3/3.
Extremely stressful. Would never recommend the company.
Shocking Company with Rude Staff and Terrible Tradesman
Placed an order in October with U Bllnds for plantation shutters as they promised us they would be installed by Xmas. Nick the guy who took measurements for a total of only 2 minutes said straight forward job. They then demanded half the money for the job, which I paid them. After many phone calls as Xmas approached they promised they would be installed before Xmas. Sadly they called just before Xmas and said that our blinds where sent to Melbourne by mistake so no blinds for Xmas. Then January 2018 rolled around and they made us stay home to l...et their tradesman in however they did not arrive or call. So once again more phone calls where we were given the run around of people in the company to discuss this with. After finally demanding we speck to the boss or head of the company we got some service. It was not good but it was something.They made a booking to install and when he arrived they did not fit. We found out later that the young guy was a Trainee. Once again we were back to square one, no blinds and the middle of January. Back onto the phone again to speck to more rude staff to inform them of their mistake. Again we were given a date of installation and again they arrived and still they didn't fit again because the trainee also measured wrong. Here we go again, another date was arranged and once again the tradesman didn't show up or call to say he could not make it. Amazing but true!!!. Finally late in January the tradesman and the blinds arrived and they installed the shutters with half the corner missing. I walked into my bedroom and said you have got to be F....ing kidding me. Why would you install a shutter with half a corner missing. His reply to me was, mate I install what they give me. So at present we have our plantation shutters installed with a half a corner missing. So I said I am not paying for that to the tradesman. Now they have the hide to send me us a demand letter or they will commence court action for the money owing. I am now in the process of contacting the Ombudsman to settle this discussing companies work. Do not use them as they are rude, unreliable and do not care what the finish product looks like. They only care about the money. I have renovated 3 houses and dealt with a lot of tradesman and builders over the years. U blinds are the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. Don't say I didn't worn you.
Ended up going to the ombudsman
I ordered my blinds at the end of March. We were told they'd be ready in 6-8 weeks. In the first week of July they were finally installed, but only after I had to chase them. I, too, paid up-front. Big mistake. The kitchen blind is not right so they said that a replacement would be installed within 4 weeks. It's now October and they have made no contact. I called them about 3 weeks ago to be told that my blind is making its way up from Melbourne. Crappiest service ever. Don't use them. I wish I had paid a little more and gone local.
Update: I logged a complaint with the ombudsmen and within 12 hours the correction was booked. Within the week it was fixed. Such a shame it came to that but I’m so glad it’s over.
Bloody Crappy Job
Got the measure and quote done OK.
Lady seemed to know what she was talking about.
I made a point of asking what if you measure wrong I was told no chance I'm the shutter queen of Brisbane. If I stuff them up I have to pay to have them fixed.
Install day comes and I leave the installers to do their thing. Come back down stairs to find a different style shutter to what I ordered on the order form.
Then have a closer look to find the frames are to big for the window openings. One set of shutters has to be lifted into the frame when closing. T...

Shutters ordered & 50% deposit paid on March 18, 2020 for our apartment on Chevron Island. Rep Kerry Knight said Shutters were in stock but in containers & expected installation in 6-8 weeks. 4 weeks already gone bye & we have been unable to contact anyone to get an update. Please respond
