installed with errors, now over 13 weeks and still no word or rectification date!
outdoor roller blinds purchased for $9728, quoted 7/5 and we proceeded with quote as "locally made" therefore no expected delays like other companies who import from china. Installation was quick - installed 8/7, however one blind was measured about 2 cm too short, and they didnt trim the top and the bottom was gappy (wrong balloon bottom seal) as was originally discussed. came back to review 21/7 and was told max 3 weeks to fix their errors. constant emails and dates set but now it is 7/10, OVER 10 weeks late from their fix date, and still no ...result. Got cancelled AGAIN! with 45mins notice, after they made me take a day off work to be home! shoddy company, really dislike paying in full BEFORE the job is done for reasons like this. Not happy, would not recommend.
Absolutely poor salesmanship
1st contact, total lack of interest. Difficult to get appt for quote, late arrival. Rude from the moment we started quote. So much more expensive, with 50% discount. Definite decline.
Installation of roller shutters incomplete, flashing not installed.Still waiting for two remote controllers, according to the contract not supplied.
No service after several phone calls and messages.
Contract was for supply - installation.
As a return customer I am very disappointed with the service I received from U Blinds. Told blinds would be ready in 3-4 weeks , actually took 5 weeks and then only had half the blinds needed. Had to wait another 2 weeks for it to be finished. Numerous phone calls to office- promised they would call back. Very lucky to get a call back. Only redeemer factor the fitter Brendan did a great job.
Won’t be using this company again.
Shocking customer service
I have used UBlinds a number of times and have been very happy in the past. This time a whole different experience. The guy came out to quote 1 blind and told me it will be ready in 2 - 3 weeks . I said 3 weeks at the latest as I’m going overseas. It’s now been a month, I leave for overseas Monday . I have called messaged and finally this morning someone rang me back with a bunch of lies. If there is one thing I hate it’s being lied to. Especially when they told me installer spoke with my father to schedule a time . How sad considering my father died ten years ago. Hopefully the installer turns up next Friday as my daughter will be here for it not me.
Inferior Service Overall
There were a number of bad things about Ublinds
. The blinds were 3 weeks late in delivery
. Unbelievably the Salesman omitted to quote one window - So we got everything done and had to wait another 2 weeks for more blinds, because of this glaring error.
. Ublinds did not reply to one letter and one email
. The actual tradesman were good
Lack of communication for overdue order
Order due mid April no communication from company chased up yesterday morning just received sms to say order due Brisbane warehouse late next week. We had a promised fitting date of 8 weeks from order date 13-2-18. Company has no customer service skills.
Doesn't keep the customer informed
I'm writing this review from a businessman's perspective as I am a business owner. After having U Blinds Australia install our internal shutters we were impressed with the 5 weeks from order to installation and because of this factor we then decided to approach U Blinds again for our external sun shade blinds and on us asking what the time frame would be from the date of placing the order to installation the sales rep gave us the same timeframe that we received for our shutters. In regards to external shade blinds it took U Blinds 10 weeks, fro...m placing our order to date of installation and during this time not once did U Blinds have the common business courtesy of contacting us and explaining as to why our order was running late, in fact we had to contacted the company twice to find out what was going on, it even crossed our minds at one point that the company may be in trouble. On directly contacting the company on the first occasion, was 6 weeks after placing our order, U Blinds only then informed us that, "your order had not yet left China". On hearing nothing more from the company, again we directly contacted them, the second occasion and 7 weeks after placing our initial order and we were then informed that our order had not arrived in Australia. It was only 1 week before the installation date, 01 May 2018, that we received a voice message giving us an actual installation date. Product is good but customer service is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. Doesn't take much effect for a company, who knows that a customer order is running late, with both delivery and installation, to contact the customer and explain the situation. Now this is called Customer Service.
Lacking Customer service
We chose U Blinds a second time as the first time encounter was great. But this time found U Blinds to be lacking service and communication re our problem shutters. Window shutters in one room didn't tilt properly, waited ages for replacements and then the wrong ones were ordered. Then waited ages again with no communication in that waiting time. Bedroom shutter doors fitted poorly with difficulty opening and closing them. Was told by the installer that 4 doors should have been suggested in the beginning instead of 2, which are heavy and st...ick when opening and closing. So was told they would go to a builder to be shaved. Waited to hear from the builder but nothing. When the replacement window shutters finally arrived and were installed (now all good there), the installer took the bedroom doors off and shaved them at the bottom. I mentioned I thought they were going to the builder to be done professionally and he said, the builder was busy! The doors are a tad better, but not good! He said that's all he could do. One year next week, since we made first payment!!! Not a happy Jan!!
Still waiting for an email back

I got a quote for plantation shutters and vertical blinds. The man who came out seemed very trustworthy and enthusiastic about the products he represented so I believed he worked for a reliable company. I called the Brisbane office on 5th December to find out when it would be likely for the vertical blinds to be installed if I paid the deposit that very day. The answer was “probably not before Christmas but then between Christmas and New Year”. I paid the deposit right away over the phone and was promise that a receipt would be emailed, which ...never happened. Just before Christmas I called the office again to find out the installation date. I was told the blinds were sitting in a warehouse in Sydney and would arrive into Brisbane on 11th January. Obviously I wasn’t impressed but was told the factory in Sydney had closed for Christmas so nothing could be done. I call again on 11th January just to be told that the blinds would be in Brisbane on 17th or 18th January. This time I lost my patience however the person at the other end, didn’t give a hoot as “she was just the messenger!” So I called again on 19th January, this time to be told that the factory in Sydney was waiting for the fabric to come in!!!! What??? This time I got angry and finally someone in the office took a bit of responsibility and had to agree that “this had gone beyond the joke!!” To cut a long story short the blinds were finally installed on 24th January. Unfortunately there was a problem with the installation. I called the office twice about it however as I didn’t hear anything back regarding fixing it, I texted the installer directly. He was quite helpful despite the fact he had the day off work. To rectify the problem a screw had to be taken out of the wall, hole in the wall patched up and painted, and then the screw put into a different spot. As I had had more than enough of this company we decided to solve the problem ourselves. To sum it up: Poor communication, poor customer service, once you pay your deposit nobody seems to care. To finish off on a positive note: The vertical blinds appear to be of good quality and look very nice…. and I’m so happy I ordered the plantation shutter through a different company!
Slackest communication ever.
Good product. Mistake in some of the measurements, plus one shutter damaged, keep ringing two weeks later no word when zip trac blinds will be installed. Have our money so guess they don't care.
Sales process was good but that's where it ends and went down hill from there.
Attitude from Sydney team was shocking considering they can't install the blinds as per agreed terms.
Blinds are average quality.
Not good on after care service
I bought 6 plantation shutters in Dec.
One was damaged and they have just sent the replacement now!! 3 months later after I chased it up now they expect me to pay freight again I have rang 3 times nobody has answered my calls.
They are dreadful on after customer service.
Better not to try
I just read the review of U Blinds this morning on this website. Many talks about the poor customer services, however, I decided to give it to try and call them for a quote. I was talking to a lady and she was very helpful and listens to what I want ( Roller blind or Curtain or Sheers, any that suit my window). She passed my details to a consultant (she called) to give me a call. In the next few hours, the consultant called me (with a boring and very unhappy voice). I told her that I would like to get any blinds mentioned above to suit my windo...w but she replied "We only do roller blind no curtain no sheer, do want that?" I also told her about the curtain and sheer I were talking to the lady before, however, she was repeating her sentences again and again until I decided to say "No thanks" and hanged up. I felt so annoying talking to a person like this who were not even try to help and understand the customer requirements but just wanted to say they are selling and nothing else. I would suggest better not to try to call them.

Shutters ordered & 50% deposit paid on March 18, 2020 for our apartment on Chevron Island. Rep Kerry Knight said Shutters were in stock but in containers & expected installation in 6-8 weeks. 4 weeks already gone bye & we have been unable to contact anyone to get an update. Please respond
