Lacking Customer service
We chose U Blinds a second time as the first time encounter was great. But this time found U Blinds to be lacking service and communication re our problem shutters. Window shutters in one room didn't tilt properly, waited ages for replacements and then the wrong ones were ordered. Then waited ages again with no communication in that waiting time. Bedroom shutter doors fitted poorly with difficulty opening and closing them. Was told by the installer that 4 doors should have been suggested in the beginning instead of 2, which are heavy and st...ick when opening and closing. So was told they would go to a builder to be shaved. Waited to hear from the builder but nothing. When the replacement window shutters finally arrived and were installed (now all good there), the installer took the bedroom doors off and shaved them at the bottom. I mentioned I thought they were going to the builder to be done professionally and he said, the builder was busy! The doors are a tad better, but not good! He said that's all he could do. One year next week, since we made first payment!!! Not a happy Jan!!
Happy Dealings with U Blinds
I read other reviews but our experience was pleasant and we found all personnel we had contact with, most helpful. We had a couple of small issues which were rectified immediately and without fuss. We had contact through MEGAN (an angel at head office Victoria). I feel sorry for those who didn't have Megan to contact, with any issues. She returned calls promptly and solved all our concerns (not many) in a professional, friendly, helpful manner. Wouldn't hesitate to use U Blinds again and would make sure I made Megan my contact person again !!!
Last week I was upset with our blinds arriving and not being what we were expecting .
This week the manager visited our home to listen to our concerns and has promised to rectify the issue to our satisfaction ( it actually exceeds our needs )
Not only was he understanding but also willing to meet our needs .
What a top bloke !
Would recommend them to anyone .
A wonderful experience with Ublinds
My wife and I are in the process of redecorating our home and we have had a positive experience with Ublinds. The French lady who updated our window coverings gave us great customer service, on time delivery and at a good price. Would shop again with Ublinds.
Fantastic Product, very competitive Prices
Catherine Berthebaud is the best! Thank you for your advice and knowledge. I absolutely love our new Plantation shutters; we feel like we are living in a resort. My order took longer than anticipated and communication from head office with updates would have saved a lot of angst and given you a 5 star rating. Great product, looks better than we could have imagined.
Still waiting for an email back

I got a quote for plantation shutters and vertical blinds. The man who came out seemed very trustworthy and enthusiastic about the products he represented so I believed he worked for a reliable company. I called the Brisbane office on 5th December to find out when it would be likely for the vertical blinds to be installed if I paid the deposit that very day. The answer was “probably not before Christmas but then between Christmas and New Year”. I paid the deposit right away over the phone and was promise that a receipt would be emailed, which ...never happened. Just before Christmas I called the office again to find out the installation date. I was told the blinds were sitting in a warehouse in Sydney and would arrive into Brisbane on 11th January. Obviously I wasn’t impressed but was told the factory in Sydney had closed for Christmas so nothing could be done. I call again on 11th January just to be told that the blinds would be in Brisbane on 17th or 18th January. This time I lost my patience however the person at the other end, didn’t give a hoot as “she was just the messenger!” So I called again on 19th January, this time to be told that the factory in Sydney was waiting for the fabric to come in!!!! What??? This time I got angry and finally someone in the office took a bit of responsibility and had to agree that “this had gone beyond the joke!!” To cut a long story short the blinds were finally installed on 24th January. Unfortunately there was a problem with the installation. I called the office twice about it however as I didn’t hear anything back regarding fixing it, I texted the installer directly. He was quite helpful despite the fact he had the day off work. To rectify the problem a screw had to be taken out of the wall, hole in the wall patched up and painted, and then the screw put into a different spot. As I had had more than enough of this company we decided to solve the problem ourselves. To sum it up: Poor communication, poor customer service, once you pay your deposit nobody seems to care. To finish off on a positive note: The vertical blinds appear to be of good quality and look very nice…. and I’m so happy I ordered the plantation shutter through a different company!
Slackest communication ever.
Good product. Mistake in some of the measurements, plus one shutter damaged, keep ringing two weeks later no word when zip trac blinds will be installed. Have our money so guess they don't care.
Sales process was good but that's where it ends and went down hill from there.
Attitude from Sydney team was shocking considering they can't install the blinds as per agreed terms.
Blinds are average quality.
We had great customer service with Lauren from the sales department. Lauren was very clear with her product knowledge, financial services and helpful with the selection of blind choice. We are very happy with the choice and quality of the end product.
Peter was our installer and he was on time, professional and fixed a minor problem which had occurred on installation.

Not good on after care service
I bought 6 plantation shutters in Dec.
One was damaged and they have just sent the replacement now!! 3 months later after I chased it up now they expect me to pay freight again I have rang 3 times nobody has answered my calls.
They are dreadful on after customer service.
Great, not issues, but not much communication either.
I used this site before ordering my blinds. I found the feed back very polarising. Either very good or very bad. Most comments seem to be about Ublinds lack of communication. Myself, I don't need to know every step of the way where my blinds are at. They said would take about 12weeks over xmas period and I was happy with that. Come to about that time and hadn't heard anything. About a week later I got a text saying the installer would contact me.
The installer was great. Very happy with the product and end result. I would recommend them.
I gave a 4 star because their show room opening hours isnt great. Would have been nice to check out their showroom on a Saturday morning
I was very happy with my shutters, and also with Peter Rose's professional fitting, and would not hesitate to recommend U Blinds.
Better not to try
I just read the review of U Blinds this morning on this website. Many talks about the poor customer services, however, I decided to give it to try and call them for a quote. I was talking to a lady and she was very helpful and listens to what I want ( Roller blind or Curtain or Sheers, any that suit my window). She passed my details to a consultant (she called) to give me a call. In the next few hours, the consultant called me (with a boring and very unhappy voice). I told her that I would like to get any blinds mentioned above to suit my windo...w but she replied "We only do roller blind no curtain no sheer, do want that?" I also told her about the curtain and sheer I were talking to the lady before, however, she was repeating her sentences again and again until I decided to say "No thanks" and hanged up. I felt so annoying talking to a person like this who were not even try to help and understand the customer requirements but just wanted to say they are selling and nothing else. I would suggest better not to try to call them.
Customer service poor in Redlands Q'ld
We had four roller blinds to be installed in April 2015. The fourth blind was too wide and wouldn't fit and had to be returned to the factory to be cut down. When it was finally installed the rail was scratched from the resizing. Photographs were sent to Nigel who said the rail would be replaced. When Andrew arrived to replace the rail he had the wrong rail and said 'someone' would be back with the correct one in a couple of days. Despite numerous communications from our end, it is now December and the company has shown no interest in replacing the damaged rail as promised. Very disappointing. Will never use them again even though we were happy with the quality of the blinds.
I give up...
On 6 August 2015 I had a quote for Plantation shutters and ventians (13 in total). I paid the required deposit of $3700 on 10 August. A pre measure was carried out by their installer and he informed me my windows could not be fitted with shutters. The original sales rep returned and remeasured for roller blinds in place of the shutters.
I was told the new quote was $3700. I checked the quote and found I was overcharged by $212. It took me from 10 August to 27 October (and finally an email firmly requesting my refund) to receive the overpayme...
Transformed our deck!
We have just had outdoor aluminium plantation shutters installed along the side of our very long deck, which we were renovating. Ublinds provided a very good service, coming out to measure up when they said they would, providing a quote very quickly and then coming to measure a couple of times because the deck was still under construction. The installers did a great job and we were wowed by the difference. They are getting a lot of admiring looks from others. The louvres when open allow lots of fresh air to flow through and we are looking forwa...rd to being able to close them in winter to protect from the weather. They have all been very helpful and friendly to deal with. On the strength of their service, we are now getting them to quote on a blind we need.

You get what you pay for and these blinds are VERY CHEAP. I had polymer venetians installed via the Melbourne office which took 4 months before I was reasonably satisfied. Their first effort was pathetic with one out of 7 blinds being ok. It took them another 2 visits and the customer service is also pathetic. Although some brackets are still not fitted properly, I gave up because it's difficult dealing with them.The blinds themselves look pretty good but few of them even close properly. Spend the extra $$ which I should have done. Have you noticed that every week they're advertising 50% off. It's obviously because that's all the product is worth.
Great ideas and service
I called several companies for a quote for blinds in my bedroom. Although the other companies were ok, I immediately warmed to the U Blinds rep called Dave.
He came in and after looking at my house made several suggestions for a different look I had not considered .
He had pictures to show his ideas and I loved them. I ended up getting shutters in my bedrooms and lounge area. The price was competitive and the final result was modern and looked great. I've received lots of complements from my friends.

We have progressively installed plantation shutters throughout our house in Adelaide. Duane has always been on-time, considerate and professional. Quotes have always been competitive and we are happy with the quality of the product and installation. Sometimes delivery is delayed but customer service is always friendly.
We shopped around for quotes to get verticals and plantation shutters for our home. We chose to go ahead with UBlinds Brisbane based on their competitive quote plus their longest warranty of what we were tole "25 years" for the plantation shutters. When we had our verticals installed I was extremely disappointed in the quality. The verticals themselves were poorly sewn, and the wand to open and close the blinds are flimsy and break off EVERY time we twist to open and close our blinds.. Shocking! When our shutters were installed after 10 week...s (we were told 8 weeks) the installer put a hole in our newly painted wall and didnt even give us the courtesy to tell us! The plantation shutters drop each time we open them and we have to lift them up to close them. Poor quality after spending literally thousands of dollars for a few windows. After ringing to complain about the hole in the wall and the poor installation of the shutters we were given no apology and were told we would be contacted, however still weeks later we have recieved no phone call. We have also since learnt the "25 year warranty" on the shutters is in fact just 5 years. Never again will we use UBlinds again - their loss as we want to put shutters on the rest of the house. I will NEVER recommend UBlinds to anyone wanting blinds. Please be aware!!
Incredible service from these guys! sales manager measured our shutters, arrived within 6 weeks and lovely guy named [name removed] installed shutters. Was a problem with the last shutter which could have taken 2 weeks but [name removed] (sales manager) addressed problem and fixed it within 2 hours. Highly recommend these guys! Ask for [name removed]!
