Worst Bank Ever!
I answered all the security questions correctly in an effort to transfer some money but they have blocked my account because I don't sound my age??? I now have to take time off work to go to the post office so I can verify who I am even though I have already done this. Do not open an account with this bank if you want access to your money! I have given one star because you have to but it deserves -5 stars!
Can't even access my own money!
Online Verification doesn't work! Have to go into post office which obviously I have to take work off for an hour to do. Completely defeats the purpose of a bank with no branches! Didn't even know I was not verified or that I had to do this before I could access my own money, until I needed to withdraw some of it in which case I am told that I am debit blocked. Then the site won't allow me to verify myself and continues to sign me out for no reason. Since this will take several days I am late paying the bill that I needed to pay.

Initially I had a verbal accessment and tentative approval for $450k loan, but the person on the phone said if I wanted to use equity from an existing loan, I should do that first, then get the new loan for the new purchase. how long does this take, I asked, oh, a few weeks, 2 perhaps 3. Then start applying for the new loan immediately with a new open portal.
Ok, fast forward 3 months, and I am arguing with some new person on the phone again... what is taking so long??! No drawdown, no new loan. I had to upload my documents 3 times at the ...
Broken Vending Machine of Banks.
Clear title, wanting to use funds for purchase of additional property, initially told 2 weeks max to draw down, currently into 3rd month, missed out on 2 highly suitable properties in the meantime. Discharge of mortgage provided with clear title, still wanted proof property had been paid out. no contact from lender with out provoking a response from them. I have been told today, 28/3 additional documents to be signed and sent in the next 5-7 days. Unable to return CT to me without following discharge process. Very frustrating and misleading pr...ocess. avoid unless you like waiting an extensive period, having to repeat yourself to a new operator everytime, and being made a fool of when negotiating a purchase. Will refinance the second the loan is drawn down. negative stars.. so very disappointed. lesson learned, pay peanuts, get monkeys.
Another Outage ....
Three days and counting.
No access to funds.
No transfers of funds.
Can't pay bills. Left without cash.
Front line staff script is limited to "monitor website and social media for updates".
For an online bank, systems outages are unacceptable.
I can't even cancel my account - there's a system outage there too! ...Not good enough!
Home Loan Do Not Bother!!
Do not waste your time with this bank we have been nothing but stuffed around with them they approved our finance then unapproved it due to them not giving us the correct information in the first place and then approved it after 100 phone calls. Told us that they would call / email never received anything back terrible terrible customer service. Don't even get me started on how slow they are, promised us IN WRITTING that we would have approval by a certain date and never delivered .... No one knows what is going on and don't know who is running the show there obviously clowns.
Trying to update my details... How hard can it be???
I'm so frustrated with Ubank... I set up an account approx 5 hrs ago.. I do everything online, so it never occurred to me to update my details with you over the years.. We've move twice since I set up the account.. So, I've been saving with ubank, never withdraw, and finally néed some of the money I've saved to pay for a holiday in the next couple of days..so, upon transferring the funds from ubank today, I realise I need to update the mobile number, so call your customer service team.. The guy I spoke to was very good, but he was communicatin...g some ridiculous procedures.. He asked me security questions which I pass. Along the way a question was what was a postcode of where we lived. My husband starts reeling off post codes and then I was advised this is a breach of privacy.. I'm sorry, how on earth is my husband telling mepostcodes of where we have lived a breach of privacy? Anyway, I pass the postcode test, I pass my date of birth, and I pass my secret password online question.. But after acknowledging who I am, I still can't update my details over the phone (or online).. The process is just beyond comprehension.. Yes.. I need to print a form, complete it,and then go into Aust Post where I need to complete a 100 point check, and then Ubank will will update my details in approx 7 days and then I can transfer my money.. too bad need to transfer my money wed this week. Every other bank account I have I've updated over the phone or online...this is the first time I've had to follow such a process.. So.... I will print out the form. I will go to Aust Post and compete a 100 point check.
Impossible to work with
Biggest pain in the arsss bank I ever did have to deal with. I opened an account 10 years ago and never used it, been trying many many times to close it down, always more hoops to jump through or refusals to get it done. Still trying...
2 Days so far, Can't Get Money Out
If you want to "sweep" money to a card account, etc. DON'T DON'T DON'T
use this bank. The online systems are unreliable. The phone sometimes cannot get through.
2 days been going trying to get through so I can get some money out.
Had better service from banks in Philippines or Fiji.
This is the bad old days of banking here.
1. 30 mins on hold - phone cut off saying they are having technical difficulties, call again. ...2. online message "null error" 3. online message "I don't have the funds" when I did.
Not really an online bank - terrible customer service
I've had a Ubank account since 2008/2009, and am giving up on it. It is ok unless anything goes wrong. The moment it does, you can't fix it online, and their customer service staff will not help you. So - it's not really an online bank, it's just internet banking like every other bank has now. I have been round and round in circles trying to change details - and am giving up after 18 months of trying. I bank with other organisations as well, and have never had trouble with them like I do with Ubank. Avoid them - the positives are are far outweighed by the negatives.
Don't return calls or emails take forever to update personal information... Don't get an account here, not worth the drama.
Criminal how they hold on to your money for days after you transact
I've had a UBank account for a long time now, and my daughter too has had one for a couple of years. We have had to make alternative arrangements with OTHER banks because of their tardiness in transferring funds. It's obvious they are using our money in the short term money market, because other banks can transfer funds in ONE perhaps TWO days. UBank is three days (at least, usually) Obviously trying to recoup costs and bolster their bottom line with our money. We have tried uBank transfers for six months, and ended up having to shift money to...another bank because it just takes too long. Amazes me why these banks cannot be held to account - it I use a credit card, within minutes the funds appear taken from my account. So they CAN do it if it suits THEM. It's electronic - so how can they justify the transaction taking days??? Other banks do it - so that's where I suggest you keep your money if transactions are a priority for you.
A completely frustrating experience. Please save yourself some trouble and do not use them.
I went through a thoroughly frustrating 5 week experience. The customer experience is the worst of any financial institution I have encountered in any context. I had three significantly different versions of what our 'pre-approved' home loan policy entailed. The online application process is cumbersome and those from U Bank either lack or refuse to use common sense on every step of the way. The online platform is cumbersome and often crashes. In the end, we went to a 'normal' bank and got approval in a few hours with the same interest rate.
ANOTHER UNIMPRESSED UBANK REFINANCER
We were attracted to Ubank's interest rate, being a completely online bank didn't bother us as we were happy for everything to be done online and rarely visit a branch. It's been 10 weeks since we lodged our application, we are still not refinanced. We've had to make several complaint to get Ubank to continue working on our application. As a former NAB store manager, i was able to have my homeloan customers well and truely refinanced after 10 weeks. Ubank have also refused to allow us to manage our own homeloan repayments, making it a condition...of the loan that they direct debit repayments. I've been running my financial life successfully for years, i don't need a bank to tell me how and when i will be making repayments. A word of advice for those considering Ubank DON'T. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Their customer service put you on hold for long time and when they answer they say sorry i don't know the answer and need to transfer you to someone else and again they put you on hold for long time.
In overall not a pleasant experience at all.
Worst bank and should be banned
Took 2 months to get debit card. The statement was not showing correctly and when I complained, their tech support person called me and was almost yelling at me. I am literally maintaining a parallel spreadsheet on my PC to track my money as I don't trust this bank anymore. Just because of interest rate I am still hanging on to it.
Today, my password didn't work. I reset twice but each time you logout you have to reset again as it stops accepting the earlier password. What a pathetic bank. I don't know why such banks are being allowed to operate in this country.
Deadly slow. Never ever get it done on time
Refinancing is ridiculous with delays from their solicitors to book a settlement date. One month crossed just to arrange a settlement date in-spite of all documents ready and processed. Simply, a lazy bank with sleeping people. It seems their minimum process time is 5 months. Regretting now.
All I wanted to do was start a SMSF Term Deposit. Initially the online software would not work, after phone discussions I was asked to apply for a personal term deposit so that I could be recognised by the system, this involved going to the PO and getting ID'd. Then the application for the SMSF TD would not accept my funds ABN......"ABN already exists. Enter another number". After using the online Chat System with Natalie I was advised to enter a fictitious number and this can be changed later. Now I get the message "Enter a valid ABN or AC...N". Natalie advised that someone would ring me back.....no-one ever did! Another phone call to someone who knew nothing about what the history was a waste of time. Started to online Chat with a new person, Daniel, who again knew nothing about the situation. It is now 2 weeks since I first started the application. I decided to stop wasting time and take my money somewhere else. Do they really want to be in business?
It takes over a week to change your phone number.
I can't access my money because it takes a week for them to send a letter with a code so I can then change my phone number to access my account.
Fraud prevention is rubbish. They allowed someone to use a copy of my card in the US when I was clearly in Brazil. Then when I was in the US they cancelled my card when I tried to buy a $1 sim card and claimed they didn't know I was overseas when I had been for over six months. Then they allow my card to be overcharged when I don't have an overdraft.
No postcode...no service
Attempted to change my details but couldn't remember where I lived when I set the account up and so didn't know the postcode, Tough luck..I'll have to go through the verification process again at Aus Post. Blimey you lot. You have a dozen other details about me and knowing a postcode is the pinnacle of your identity check. Crap service after 30 minute on-hold.
Terrible - After all paperwork you start again!! Not worth spending time
Worst experience ever!! Applied for home loan which ended in frustration, stress and hassles- Nothing else. Not worth doing this company business

Customer service is worst and rude, commenting with staff when you query something you not aware and customer service like a club you can hear " swearing " words on background
Loans?? WASTE OF TIME
Waste of time. They keep asking for more documentation..... 4 months of giving more and more documentation and now they want to redo the original documents as they are now older. They never read their own notes and keep asking for the same thing over and over again. Gave up on them and ended up paying for the service at another bank.. never looked back.
Can't Get My Money Out.
I moved overseas and as you would, changed phone numbers. I can no longer access my Telstra phone number to receive texts from Ubank to enter a code to transfer funds.
As I had already transferred funds from Ubank to my CBA account previously I naturally assumed I'd be able to do further transfers to the same known accounts without a text code (like I can from CBA to any previously paid account). With UBank you can't and you can't change your phone number to an overseas number nor can you change it to another Australian number over the phon...e (despite having my ID verified numerous times via security questions and being able to change my number over the phone at CBA). The only other standard option is to have the code delivered by mail to you registered address, which I no longer live at (super secure Ubank). There's one further option apparently - to go through an exceptions process, approved by their risk team, to transfer to a linked account. After setting up my linked account, I initiated the exceptions process 3 weeks ago (to transfer all of my funds to CBA - screw staying with Ubank). They said it would take 5-7 business days.It's been 18 business days and still there's no movement! Only after I mentioned that I'd have to go to the Banking Ombudsman did they escalate it and there has still been no response. My case is as simple and non risky as you can and there is simply no reason for Ubank to delay this long.
Worst banking experience in my life
Since the time I opened my bank account since 3 months ago, I have been having night mares with this bank.
1. First, I didn't get my ATM card for 2 months
2. I couldn't add a Linked Account. When I called customer care, the guy was extremely rude.
3. Finally, I found an alternate way to add a linked Account, now I cannot transfer the money out of the bank. When I reported the error to the support team, they came back saying it is an issue with browser, they can't help.
Now my money is stuck and I am unable to do anything with this bank. One of the worst banks I have come across. I am planning to close my account soon.
