Great until you have a problem
I recently purchased computer parts from this store. I received faulty goods with no resolution or help from Umart. Looking at blog sites this is not uncommon.
Umart refused to replace the goods and or refund my purchase amount. I was spending precious time calling them. I have commenced a formal complaint with Fair Trading. The call Centre (Not within the store) refused to transfer my call to a person of authority who could make decisions and assist me.
Umart refused any assistance or offer to return my purchase money and or replace the fau...lty goods. I had sent the purchased goods back and still can not get a refund or replacement goods. I have been able to commence proceeding to obtain a full refund through the financial organisation that I made the purchase through. I have purchased previously from Umart but will never do so again. I am also looking at court action against Umart. If people are smart enough you can get your money back but you need the knowledge to research it.
Bought a corsair k70 keyboard from them. It arrived damaged and I had to send it back at my own expense. 2 Weeks later I get told that the warranty does not cover my issue and i ave to pay an additional $120 to repair the keyboard. If ever you need pc parts, just by from pccasegear instead. spent thousands of dollars in parts from pccasegear and have never had an issue. i truly regret giving umart a go.
Got in contact with corasair myself. Turns out they were more than happy to replace my keyboard. Just needed to send in the old one.... love to know if umart even tried
Quick and nice service
Its really nice to have a localshop where i can get my part, and people are nice there and easy to solve all problem in person. And cheaper than online!!!!

Absolutely terrible service with customer support
I purchased a full PC build of items, After 2 months I had issues with the GPU, I contacted GEEKS2U to come investigate the issue and was informed it was the GPU, I returned my item to Chermside store for a refund, which I Was told that it will need to go away for repairs, IT took 3 months to come back, In the mean-time I was offered a temporary GPU a 750 Ti in the 3 months my RTX 2070 SUPER was away for "Repairs" I had 0 issues with the PC, I received my Item after 3 months and 2 days later the issue continues, I return my Product back for a r...efund but am told it'll need to go away again for testing, I wait 1 week to be told its fine, After being told it was at one store for collection and it actually wasn't I finally received my product back after being told it was fine and they wont be issuing a refund because of that. I returned home to find still an issue Outlined in the Gyazo image link below. I had requested multiple refunds/replacements but continually denied. Terrible service and return policy
Bought a Dell monitor from them, came with physical damage out of the box and refused to refund or replace until the manufacturer approves. Was told to wait for 3-4 weeks for an email notice. Nothing came in after 5 weeks so I rang up and said I was eligible for a refund, no money was received a week later, so i rang up again and finally it got sorted out.
The original Dell I wanted is now out of stock so I got 2x acer monitors instead, both screens had problems and is now going through the same 4 week wait again, despite the sales staff agreeing there is clearly something wrong with the screen.
Terrible Return Policy
Not customer-friendly! Do not buy from this store!
I ordered a Galax RTX 2060 Super from their online store, only to later realise it is incompatible with the computer I desired to put it in.
I sent the card back to the store within the month I purchased it and requested a refund or store credit. THEY REFUSED.
Unless I got approval from the ACCC, they would not give me a refund under any circumstances.
Now I'm stuck with a useless and expensive graphics card that they made me pay postage for to send it back to me. Very unhappy.
Faulty item - no update on repair/refund after 5 weeks
Item was sent to be assessed. Deemed as faulty and sent for repair. After 5 weeks they still can't provide me with an update after several calls and emails. Very poor service.
Service second to none
I purchased a number of items for a new build. When it failed to POST I phoned the help line and after being told the wait time was considerable, suggesting an email I did just that. Expecting to wait for days I was amazed to get a response within hours. On advice to return to store I found the staff extremely helpful and went away with the needed graphics card without being made to feel an idiot. After installing the card and still getting no POST I returned to the store and again was met with brilliant service. Running full diagnostics it was...discovered one of the memory cards was dud and this was replaced on the spot. Nothing was too much trouble. While there I observed other customers being treated with the same respect and helpfulness. In this day and age of disinterest and lack of service, you guys are a shining light. Well done.
I bought a new graphics card back in late March, only to have it fail after three weeks. Okay, just a faulty unit, I thought, I'll return it and get a refund.
When I contacted Umart I was told that I shouldn't return it and was instead directed to the manufacturer, which just wasted my time and made me feel like they didn't want to take responsibility for the part they sold me.
It's now been 4 weeks since they received my return and two months that I've been without my computer. The amount of time this has taken, and continues to take, is unreasonable. I am wholly unsatisfied with the service Umart has given.
Faulty card led to good service.
I had a GPU fault in a Umart computer where the card had to be sent back for manufacturers warranty. It came back from the manufacturer still faulty. Rather than send the GPU back for a second fix, Umart offered to replace the card (which I upgraded for a few$ more). I thought this was decent of Umart and Brett went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the cards operation before I left the store.
Aggressive staff member, lies, intimidation tactics and disgraceful after sales service.
I spent about 1800$ on a computer system. I asked for a video editing system and they sold me gaming system instead - not fit for purpose. I asked them for a full refund. A tall aggressive staff member named Mark, swore at me repeatedly and laughed in my face and refused. He told me that I took too long to bring it back despite buying it on Saturday and returning it monday morning. Another staff member damaged to pins on the cpu, while Mark was swearing at me. Absolutely disgusting attitude. Never ever ever purchase from these pirates!

Umart is always competitive on price with the best range of products, I have been coming here for years to build PC's both professionally and for gaming. They have excellent after sales support, and know how to treat customers. They are always the best on price compared with other PC stores on the southside.

I purchased a brand new Thermaltake Core P3 Snow Edition PC chassis from Umart online via preferred Express Shipping with next business day guarantee based on their website recommendation (1-3 business days) on April 7. Chassis cost $178 and shipping cost $73 (see attachment 1 invoice).
Order dispatched 2 days later en route to Metro Melb on April 9 in 2 parcels.

Fast warranty claim
Made a warranty claim and it was approved and shipped within a week. Staff we're happy to answer questions I had and were responded to within a day. Will continue to shop at Umart.

Diabolical returns process
Umart are a great shop to buy from, but their returns process is the worst I have come across. Don't have any issues with their hardware, as they will provide you with absolutely no assistance in this matter.
It is now 116 days from first returning a faulty graphics card following Umart's returns process. I still have no replacement. I can't believe it has taken this long, so many calls, visits and time wasted. They simply dont seem to care about my situation.
We have had three refurbished cards back from manufacturer, none of which have ...worked. Umart have clearly not tested anything back from the supplier, simply passed back to me to 'test'. I asked for a refund on day 1, which umart refused. 116 days on from that and I still have no graphics card, which is a ridiculous situation. Umart also keep creating new tickets, rather than the keeping the old existing ticket open. I assume this is to hide the fact that 116 days has passed since this process started. Not good enough Umart! If you work for umart, please check these codes: RA#180795, RA#179749, RA#179748, RA#183684 for details about this ongoing case. I am still none the wiser as to what is happening and have had to chase Umart at EVERY step of the way to even find out where we are at. Based upon their returns process please avoid purchasing anything from Umart, once the sale is made, they simply don't care about the customer.
Happy with the customer service
Got an issue with the purchased product. Phoned store and got a clear direction for warranty process. Hopefully there won't be further drama. Will recommend umart online and Milton store to my friends.
Fast delivery unless you have a warranty issue, expect to deal with Philippine call centres and snail mail return.
Warranty. Slow response Time. Philippines call centres don't know what the Milton Warranty desk are doing!

Worst customer support
I purchased a MOBO from Umart and after a month of use it completely died. I sent it back to them and they said it would take 3 - 5 business days to process, it took well over a week. I was told that the MOBO is faulty so they had sent in for a repair. I was told the turn over time for a repair is 3 - 4 weeks, after 2 weeks I received an email saying it would take another 28 days. The customer service representative I had been emailing back and forth was giving me the same useless reply every time. I asked for a refund for the product since I n...eeded a replacement of this product for Tafe in less then 2 weeks. It’s been over a week and it still hasn’t been processed. Now I’m stuck with a situation of me not having a computer for tafe work and tafe starts in 5 days. The solution is still nowhere in sight. Will not ever be doing business with Umart ever again.

Defective brand new monitor, weeks away from resolution
Be VERY careful making big purchases from umart - it may be defective, their tech can reproduce the fault right in store, and you may be more than a month away from a refund (if at all - was advised “chances are not in my favour”, as in I just wasted $260 on a defective monitor).
Here is urchased defective FreeSync monitor (APC C24G1) that noticeably flickers in game. Went in store same week.
Tech was able to reproduce the problem on their NVIDIA GPU, but not reproduced on their antique RX 550.
Tech says there’s not much he can do becaus...e the monitor is only advertised as “AMD FreeSync”, despite NVIDIA GPUs also supporting the variable refresh rate standard, and numerous posts from respected review sites and forums reporting the monitor works fine on NVIDIA GPUs. The specific panel in my monitor is bad. I find it unbelievable that a monitor that demonstrates issues with NVIDIA cards, on their own test bench, but did not demonstrate an issue with their old AMD card would not be replaced.
An absolute NIGHTMARE.
Prices are great, until something goes wrong. I'm currently going through the ordeal of returning two faulty items and it's a NIGHTMARE. They ignore their responsibility to provide a remedy and try to pass the problem on to the manufacturer. Advising them of Australian Consumer Law has no effect. They just don't care.
Spend a few dollars more somewhere else and save yourself the headache

I want to buy parts for it from Umart as one of my friends recommended but I read some of the reviews and I am very confused about what should I do!
I don't think there is any store in Melbourne so I will have to do online shopping. Can someone please help me whether should I buy the PC parts online from Umart? Will they be delivered as per what has been ordered?

According to your website FAQ for change and amend online orders, if the order is not dispatched or collected it is still able to be changed or amended.
However I got a different respond from one of your customer service, she stated the order has been packed and ready to be shipped, so I cant change or amend my order.
I understand the frustration unpack an order change parts then pack it again, but it is an easier way to do rather then I received the parcel then send it away to claim change of mind.
I made mistakes through my study for the parts I need, and I made it clear in the emails that they do not fit for my need 100%, I would like to change parts while they are still with the store, and I can't even do that. I would 100% call through to change it if possible, but considering this is the long weekend no calls taken, I can only do emails. If you can look into this, it may save me a lot of hassles. Cheers

Some payment methods prevent us from modifying orders so this may have been the case. Either way, I'd like to explore this further for you. Would it be possible for me to grab your order number off you so we can investigate this for you asap to ensure it doesn't happen to you or anyone else again.
If not able to amend the order, I was more than happy to cancel the order and reorder. But simply advised me order was packed, can't be amended or changed and I need to send it back once I receive it. Especially the parcels were not gotten picked up by Aust post until 5 hours later. Not quite sure how many labour hours will be wasted.

I've taken a look into your particular order and I can see what has occurred. There were two emails you sent through on Sunday 7 June requesting changes - one at 3:15am and the other at 6:48pm. Our Customer Service Team currently are only available Monday to Friday. Your order was then packed and moved to be dispatched at 9:01am Monday. By the time our team got to your email at 12:30pm, it would not have been possible to change. Unfortunately, due to the volume of orders going out, all items are packed into multiple cages for Australia Post to come and collect. Given your order would have been one of the first to be packed, it would have been incredibly difficult to locate and isolate and would have impacted all other orders for that day. We are currently working through a series of improvements for the way we dispatch items in the future to provide better outcomes in situations like this.
I appreciate this doesn't help your particular situation, however, hopefully this transparency helps alleviate some of your frustrations.
