Hi Ian, Thank you for contacting Uniden Australia. I understand your concern. Let me help you with that. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your DCTE1735. I’d be happy to help. To assist you further, may I first ask: What type of connection are you using for your phone? Is it connected directly to a wall socket, or is it plugged in at the back of your modem?
Please follow the relevant steps below based on your setup:
If your phone is connected directly to a wall socket:
Unplug the telephone cord from the back of the base station for 5 seconds, then plug it back in. Unplug the power cable from the base station for 5 seconds, then plug it back in. Unplug the telephone cord from the wall socket for 5 seconds, then plug it back in. Try making a test call. If the issue persists, please contact your service provider to check your phone line.
If your phone is connected to the back of a modem:
Unplug the telephone cord from the back of the base station for 5 seconds, then plug it back in. Unplug the power cable from the base station for 5 seconds, then plug it back in. Unplug the telephone cord from the modem for 5 seconds, then plug it back in. Unplug the modem's power cable from the wall for 5 seconds, then plug it back in. Try making a test call. If the issue remains, we recommend contacting your internet/phone provider to check the line or modem configuration.
Let us know how you go, and we’ll be happy to assist further if needed.

Thank you.
Thank you for the information, but no success
Hi Ian, Thank you for taking the time to follow the troubleshooting steps. I understand that the issue is still occurring, which must be frustrating. At this point, it would be best to contact your provider’s support team to have your line checked on their end. Additionally, for us to determine whether the issue is coming from the line or the device, you can try one of the following physical tests:
Connect a working phone to your line and see if the issue occurs on that device.
Or take your phone and connect it to another working line to test whether the problem follows the phone or stays on the line.
This will help us isolate if the issue is with the phone or line.
Please contact our Customer Service for further assistance.

my light wont turn off and I have no messages
Hi Nerida, Thank you for contacting Uniden Australia. We do apologize for the inconvenience. Please follow the troubleshooting below: Pick up the handset and press the speaker button. If you get a stuttering dial tone, that's an indicator that you have a message from your service provider message bank.
The reason why there's a flashing red light before even though you don't have messages on the answering machine is because all of your messages are going straight to the message bank of your service provider.
We are not recommending the VMWI Reset always because that is only temporary.
There are 2 distinct voice messaging systems. One is the Uniden answering machine and the other is the message bank of the provider. Both cannot work at the same time. So, we either use one or the other.
The only default greeting we provide with the phone is the automated male American voice.
Anything different that is heard, when calling in, will be the Message Bank service on the line.
Please contact your service provider, (Telstra, Optus etc) tell these 3 steps.
1. Retrieve all of the messages. 2. Delete all of the messages. 3. Inform them to deactivate the message bank they have put on for you.
Once this is done, all messages will come directly to the Uniden answering machine and the flashing will stop and also the dial tone will revert back to normal.
Thank you and we hope you have a wonderful day.

Can’t get messages to go to answering machine . Think everything is connected but only way to get messages is to go to 101. It is the same line I have always used nothing different never had a problem before with messages going to answering machine until I upgraded to your phones.
Take of the dial tone to normal by your provider and also take off 101 on your land line hope this helps.

Just bought this phone but I can't get it to work. The handset just says "out of range" "Check base power" "Please put on the base cradle" "Handset #1" no matter what I try. The handset is right next to the base when I try to use it so "out of range" makes no sense. I have left it over night to charge the batteries. If I press FlashTALK button It shows connecting but then it goes back to "out of range" What do I need to do to get it to work.
Make sure you you charge the base at lest 14 hours before starting has tobe a power issue also do you have a landline conection???
If the base is connected to a power point and has the '0' (messages) lit up in red it should be good to go. I would check the connection from your landline source next. If you have a mobile, call your landline number with the handset sitting in the base cradle. If it rings, the problem would seems to be in the handset. If it does not, the problem would be in your landline or possibly the base unit.

I tried to charge it over night the next day it was only showing one dot in the charge icon. I have a NBN connection so the phone line is from there. Just getting "out of range" even if the handset is right next to the base.

Hi I was wondering if you can block a incoming call? I am receiving numerous phone calls up to 10 per day from the same number. Very annoying!
Have your phone provider put a block on scam calls or have a private number.
Only a few months old and our Dect 1735 answering machine won’t work. It is required. I have reset. It says it’s on but will not go to answering

We recently had a blackout in our area, now when I pick up the handset and press flash talk to make a call, all I get is a shrill noise, and no dial tone. Same if someone tries calling me.
Try to reboot the phone . turn off the power for 15 seconds then turn back on some times can fix the issue. also when the power came back on could have done some damage to your phone from power surge.
I did all that a few times and it didn't work
If the Physical Phone works fine.
Please contact your telephone serice provider to check the service line.
I have set up a phone for my elderly Mum. I think I have the answering machine set up to answer with the pre recorded greeting that the phone came with but on testing it answers to voicemail which my Mum has no idea how to answer. The base is showing a 0 (zero). Any ideas on how to fix? Thanks, SM.
