Uniden IGO Camera 820 Dual with night vision
The camera itself is OK, not that user friendly to setup but what really annoyed me was the bracket broke about 3months after it was installed. Very poor quality and it shouldn't happen.
As a comms engineer, Uniden used to be top quality and was well renowned, I had a couple of their CB radios over the years but this camera mount is rubbish. Now I have to pay about $50 on Ebay to get a replacement.

Sure, I'll reach out to them today. Thanks.
So, I contacted Uniden and corresponded a number of times back and forward, explaining that I can't produce a receipt as it was a present.. As I don't have the receipt Uniden will not provide a repla...
Read morecement mount, even though it's quite obvious it's not fit for purpose. THIS IS PATHETIC SERIVCE AND THEY SHOULD DO THE RIGHT THING AND REPLACE IT. Hiding behind company policy is not good enough! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY USED TO BE HIGH QUALITY AND PROVIDE GOOD SERVICE BUT NOT ANYMORE. Very disappointing and I'm now going to lodge a complaint to fair trading NSW after Christmas as this product IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. Uniden, consumers have rights and you should have done the right thing.S GerrardSouth East Queensland, QLD
Absolute Rubbish
No Dramas to set up it's really quite easy
Quality of Footage is below par! very slow and very grainy, I would hate to have an accident thinking I had good quality footage.
Connectivity is the best feature not much else.
Purchased in October 2018 at Catch for $200.00.

Uniden money maker
The dash cam works fine BUT the screen mount is extremely poorly made and is not UV stable and as such it doesn't last. I have bought 2 spares and same problem. Absolute Garbage and the customer service stinks.
Purchased in May 2017 at Redeemed points on Visa Card.

Uniden iGo Cam 820
I don't mind the iGo Cam 820I, when my daughter sets it up for me it just does its own thing. I think age has a lot to do with how easy you find some of these electronic items to use. I am 59, my daughter who is in her late teens has no problem at all using the Uniden iGO Cam 820 whereas I find it complicated. I definitely don't find it user-friendly but I think it does its job well and you can move the two lenses which is handy if you wanted to record someone at say the driver's side window. I mean it is only about $120 what do you expect to...
Read more guy? One thing I really hate is having to get onto the internet manufactures site and having to download a huge manual off the internet using my, MB's paper, time and ink. Surely they could include a "Quick Start" overview card in the box so I can get the think up and running. I have a fast 32GB micro SD card in it bare this in mind as you will have to buy one separately and they are not all that cheap the maximum size card it will take is 32GB. I think the downloaded picture quality is fantastic when I download the micro SD card onto my computer the picture quality is great and just as good at night. Very impressed with that which is the main thing it was purchased for. Be warned it has a microphone as well which records conversations I have turned mine turned off. Also keep in mind these cameras can prove your innocence in a serious motor vehicle accident, but they can also provide damming evidence to a Court if you are in the wrong. Crash Investigation Police will take the Dash Cam as an exhibit at any serious accident, download the images and your purchase could drop you right in the Sh-T. Overall I think it is a good value for money dashcam I mean what does $120 buy you nowadays? I have had it for about 2 years. I was just about to purchase a Uniden IGOCAM70R today but after reading other people opinions about Uniden, perhaps I should do some more homework first. It also concerns me that an NSW Police Officer told me that I cannot have anything such as a phone, GPS or dashcam in any position where I can see its screen or there is an on the spot fine of hundreds of dollars. So I cannot have a dashcam or GPS screen switched on, that doesn't sound right but I have heard rumors that they were going to get similar legislation passed as far as Enforcement goes in NSW anything is possible. I will have to check up on that before I buy my new dashcam that still might be a Uniden IGO CAM70R. In my book, these dash cams do a reasonable job and I would buy one again. I think the trick is you have to download the manual and read it and get familiar with the unit and then you will have no problems my daughter set mine up to the full screen and to start recording as soon as I turn my engine on and stop when I turn to off. The microphone is set to off lol. Mike HPurchased in October 2017 at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $120.00.

Can live with out it
Your brand is no worth being on the self, in any store.
Warranty or not, with the same problem every one has you should give our money back, so we can buy a new one. ( Differant Brand )
I have told all my friend to never buy this brand.
You should be a shamed of your product.
Purchased in September 2018.

Gaps in loop record make it utterly useless. Don't be like everyone else - read your manual.
First off, most of the complaints on here are from people that haven't read the manual. They're all complaining that the unit only records for 5 minutes and stops. That's how it is set out of the box for some unknown reason. Once you set it to loop recording, that problem is fixed. BUT that's where the real issues start... on a 100mb/s class 10 card, the gaps in the loop recording (the time it takes to save the file, delete an old one and start recording again) are massive. 14 seconds! We've had 2 incidents since using this camera and both have...
Read more occurred in the gap, so they haven't been recorded. The mounting bracket snapped in the heat and fell off the windscreen. The unit was purchased 4 months ago. The manual says that "this device and all included accessories are covered by a 12 month replacement warranty" but Uniden refused to replace the mount several times because they said it was a spare part, which is only covered for 3 months. This took escalating to a higher authority and the threat of legal action. Oh, and did I mention that we are a Uniden distributer and this is in our work vehicle? Extremely awkward and clumsy interface to try and use. Avoid like the plague!Purchased in November 2018 for $249.00.

Unreliable product
I am disappointed by this unit from Uniden, now out of warrenty, unreliable recording, give a a thump and it may work for 5 minutes, but then stops recording and battery doesn't charge even thou power is connected.Never worked properly since new In the bin for this heap of junk !
Absolute rubbish
Uniden have replaced mine four times with the same unit. All of the units have the same faults - stop recording, wont charge, corrupt files, short files. This is extremely unreliable and of very poor quality. My advice - do not purchase Uniden car cams - even Uniden Australia can not provide one that works!

Others say NO! I say YES!
If I'd read all the other reviews before buying, I'd never have purchased one. My iGo 820 was given to me as a birthday present. My wife relied on the store's recommendation. It is a very neat unit. Sits well on the screen without being intrusive. Easy installation process in my Rav4. Twin cameras very useful. Can be used for one forward one back or both forward which is how mine is at the moment. Excellent wide angle view. One needs to experiment to get the maximum benefit. Setting the camera up to behave how you want is a little tricky and so...
Read moremewhat time-consuming. The Instruction Guide could be better for the complete novice. If you don't master the settings properly you will get all the issues other dissatisfied customers mention and mirror their frustrations. Take time and be patient. It will be worth it. Don't rely on the default settings to be right for you. Mine came with a 32GB high-quality card (bought separately). HD quality chews up the memory. Standard quality gives a good clear image, so no problems there. Camera files are stored in 2 folders, one for each. My MacBook uses Quicktime to playback. I have had no issues with "not looping". For the price, I think it's a really good little unit BUT set up does take time and patience. It's all in the settings, which are a little difficult to read on screen due to the small font.Find out how Uniden iGO Cam 820 compares to other Dash Cams

Rubbish
Only had for a couple of weeks and never worked properly from day one. Took ages to set up going through the menu. Unit stops recording when it feels like it. Does not loop record. Unit has been connected to my PC for over 4 hours and is not charging.

Poor quality all round
Sadly it just got past the 12 months old, so no warranty. Plastic mounting was poorly designed so the main holder snapped off under its own weight, but I was able to plastic weld.... But....Intermittent recording now ( records when it feels like it )
Must say I thought Uniden was a better product. Never again

Misleading
I had the same problem. I was led to believe it had loop recording but it doesn't.
Expected much better quality from this company and given the price it certainly is not a good purchase.
You can purchase much cheaper cameras which give you the same features as this one.

Waste of my flybuy points
Sooo disappointed! Used my Flybuy points for this unit. Got the first one in December, 2017, finally got the card for it, and wow! Couldn’t get it to work, did everything it said in the manual, to get it to work, so phoned Uniden, and then sent it back. Contacted Flybuys and they said I shouldn’t have sent it back, should have got in touch with them first! Anyhow, after waiting for Uniden to contact me, which they didn’t, I phoned them, and insisted that it should be replaced, so they sent me a new one. Well, it worked for a while last week, an...
Read mored now, it won’t! The red recording light is on, the unit is fully charged, driving up to Nelson Bay today, I had to keep pushing the ON switch to make it come on, but coming home, noooo, red light is flashing, but the camera will not come on! I give up!Rob SmithBallarat

Terrible unit - not worth the money
Only way to charge now is 240V & then lasts ten minutes in the car. Will not charge in car - some of the buttons no longer work so cannot change settings. Will not auto start recording. Given up & buying something that is reliable. In my opinion there are much better options out there

Absolute Crap
Being on the road all day I wanted piece of mind in case of an accident. So I bought this unit about 18 months ago. A few months in I witnessed an accident so I told the people I would send them the footage. Got home only to realise the unit only taped for 5 minutes and that is for every time I turned the car on. Sent back to Uniden who sent me another new on... nothing but issues still. Now it won't record at all. Don't buy UNIDEN products

Piece of junk
I purchased this a while back now from Harvey Norman. And since day one it’s never worked properly. It seems like it’s defective. It doesn’t take a rolling film it chunks one journey into about 357 mini videos. The menu and the controls are illogical and not user friendly at all. I lost my temper with it and hurled it in the trash. The only place for it.
Take my advice choose a different dash cam or save your money!

Yes.... a piece of junk.
Bought one of these, was faulty from the start. Store replaced it, not recording after 6 months. Am returning tomorrow. For those who say it records for very short periods be aware that this happens when the sensor is switched on. You need to activate the motion sensor every time you leave the vehicle and deactivate before you drive or it will sense motion intermittently and record accordingly and this is a real pain. That's 2 uniden for me.....first and last!

iGO Cam 820 unreliable
In the first 18 months of purchase it recorded intermittently, would rarely hold its charge and for some reason not be able to hold the correct time and date even. Now it doesn't record even though the red light is on. It has completely frozen. Will not be buying this brand again as too unreliable

Australian Junk
Absolutely unreliable, very disappointed. Never worked 100% . Bought it in case of an accident, ironically somebody run into may car, and the camera didn't record a thing.... arrrgh.
I should have read other reviews before buying this camera.
I'm going to buy another dash camera, this time I get a serious one.
Never again...

Useless
Absolutely useless. Very disappointed. It seems to stop recording after about 10 seconds. I went online to check this and read other people's reviews. Some said that it was still recording as long as the red light was on. Well, the red light went out too. Sometimes it was on sometimes it was not. On checking the footage it was not recording much at all. On a typical journey at seemed to only record when it felt like it. Not compatible on mac. Had to use my neighbours pc after an incident and that footage was not recorded. And what was recorded was not even in order. PLUS having dual cameras is not an advantage. It recorders each camera seperately so you have to open each individual file to watch! waste of money.
