SUPERB machine
I'm a weekender & do odd jobs, previously had a UNIMig 120 transformer, also have a UNI mig 180 AC/DC for Aluminium work. Grabbed this as it was cheap & i didnt have a mig.
Got it home - had a slight issue with wire feed & had to pull apart the gun to resolve (15min job)
Fired it up on some 4mm plate steel, power set at 1/2, 0.8mm gassless that came with - WOW superb results! Awesome penetration, lovely weld & as clean as you'll get with gasless.
Much lighter than the old transformer, i was hesitant about the 1 knob - but so far so good.
If you're *thinking* about it - do it, its a superb small, light machine that performs excellent.
Would love a proper carry handle - strap is too big to carry around the bench etc.

Easy for first time welder and gets the job done
Wanted to buy a gasless mig and this one seemed as though it would do the job for us. Got some advice from experienced welders who recommended Unimig and said this was the way to go for what we wanted to do. Haven't needed to use it a lot yet, but having never welded before, this was easy to set up and simply fixed what I needed to fix. Looking forward to using it more. Highly recommend this bundle (welder, helmet, gloves, wire & consumable kit) for first time welders looking for a machine to use on around the house repairs or projects.

Good home use welder
This is the first Synergic welder I've used with only the one adjustment knob. I have had to adjust my technique a little to adapt to changing my travel speed instead of wire feed speed like on my commercial MIG welder at work. After about 20 minutes of welding I was producing good welds, don't be deterred by the single knob. I was impressed by the amount of power that a compact welder on a 10amp plug was capable of. I have set mine up to use argon blend of gas and have had very good results of weld quality and penetration. Don't expect this we...
Read morelder to penetrate into the heavier steel above about 5mm thick easily. It's best used for lighter duty work like rust repair and home fabrication. It's simplicity to use is stand out, I have taught both my teenagers how to do some basic welding and they both picked it up without much trouble. One bit of feedback for the UniMig designer, can you add a handle at the back and front of the case? The strap that it comes with is fine for carrying it, however its easier to grab the cables and the welder when moving it across a bench.Purchased in February 2021 at Total Tools.

Best compact Mig that I have ever come across.
When I first opened the box and saw how small the machine was I was worried about its capability.
Totally blown away when I started the project it was bought for as I can weld like a Pro now and I wonder why I persevered with my old Arc Welder.

I just love it, great for off grid use
I was thinking that some reviews here were maybe fake but as I have just discovered from my use of this little black box what wonderful welder it really is. I live off grid and was concerned what effect using this welder would have on my system. Well I'm over the moon with this welder and I'm a novice at welding. My first weld was great and I have been practicing every day now for the last week, I just can’t get enough of it. Just having trouble getting 0.6 gassless wire for it there doesn’t seem to be much around. Anyhow, I recommend this little beast and I don’t think you’ll have regrets. The helmet also works well and nice they put it all in a package for us.

Not bad for the price
Needed a cheap mig at home. I have a Lincoln at the farm.
The Unimig works pretty good. The feeder tube and hand piece might be a bit light in the long term, but OK so far. Another 500mm would be goon on the leads.

Straight out of the box
Wow! I picked up one of these little welders to replace my previous compact little welder I can I can throw over my shoulder to do jobs up ladders or on scaffolds.
I was worried about it not being able to be dialed in to my preference with no wire speed controller but have to say this things is awesome!
Straight out of the box I lay down a weld on 10mm plate at full amps to really test its power and capability and it smashed out a fat strong and great looking weld.
Really happy with it so far and can't wait to get it on a couple of more jobs and really test it out.
Cheers

Great welder. Easy to use.
It was so simple to use that I put it in the hands of my 13yo son. After a quick test weld on scrap he was good to go on the project. Highly recommended this product.

Simply fantastic!
Bought as my first welder, have learnt purely from trial and error and YouTube but it lays great strong welds every time. Have used it mostly as gasless but have and will be again running it on gas. Awesome for learning technique, jumped from this onto a cigweld transmig 330 and the beads went down beautifully.
My ONLY gripe is the lack of a gasless nozzle for the bz15 torch, and as such the gas holes clog up pretty easily when running flux core. And that part of the torch isn't replaceable on the viper 120. Would be great if unimig could brin...
Read moreg one out being such a cheap to manufacture part, or point out where to find one in Aus. My experience with the viper 120, unimig's helmets and plasma cutters has been enough to make me loyal to the brand and I'll definitely be sticking with them when I upgrade.Purchased in July 2020 at Sydney Tools VIC, Carrum Downs for $325.00.

This is perfect, can't do without it!.
I had been a arc welder user from way back. (60 years).
I needed something to help with a new project and I am delighted I brought my new MIG unit.
The ease of use and the outcome of the job is terrific.I am still learning the Technics but will improve with the time so they tell me.

My first mig
It’s a nice little welder, some parts are a bit cheaply made and will need replacing like the handle/ trigger as these will break if dropped or stood on. All in all it’s easy to use, lite and functions well.

Really impressed
Needed a welder for yard art and general maintenance/repairs on my farm. I noticed on many facebook groups that unimig seemed to be the most popular choice so I decided it would be best to pick this brand. Initial impressions the box presentation looks really nice from the outside and on the inside it features all the equipment (drive rollers, mig consumables, wire etc..) I needed to get started right away which is a big tick for a noobie like me.
I’m no expert at welding but from what I can see visually it’s laying down some really nice weld...
Read mores which im really happy about. The machine itself is really light but doesn’t feed cheap. Lastly I really like the intuitive wire feed design on the roof to keep the machine as compact as possible it’s simple to use and doesn’t take a genius to work out how to get this thing working the way it should. Really impressed so far.Purchased at Total Tools Online store.

Yes, mine came with one reel of 0.8 gassless wire included. Bunnings sell it.
Yes it did, question was for stainless steel
Blair M.asked
Do you have a chart for recommended settings for different steel thicknesses, i.e what should I set the synergic control to for 3mm mild steel using 0.8 solid core wire.
2 answers
no chart just let viper do the job
No I don’t, I put up to 3/4 strength power for 5-6mm plate and down to about 1/4 power for 2mm. As Wayne said, just let the viper do the job. Every mig welder needs adjustment for metal thickness until you get to know your welder and what settings are best, a chart is only a guide.
