We've used this product far more than we had anticipated in our son's first few weeks.
We bought it as an afterthought and we're really glad we did. It is so convenient for day snoozes and strolls to the park and shops. Our son is very comfortable in it.
Attached to the accompanying Alta pram, the basket underneath becomes virtually inaccessible as the bassinet sits too low.
Could be a touch bigger. Our son will grow out of it sooner than we'd like.
Couldn't live without it for the first few months
We purchased the Uppababy Alta for our son born in February 2017, which did not come with the bassinet. We separately bought the bassinet, hoping that our baby would sleep better and be more comfortable laying flat. Baby is now four months, and we are so glad we bought the bassinet!
Pros: one-handed action to lift bassinet (and baby) off the pram fram, baby can lay flat to sleep, no seat belts to deal with when baby is so small, less wind/sun on baby while he is snug inside bassinet, can use at grandparents place for naps and occasional sleepovers, all fabrics are washable.
Cons: the apron zipper can be a little fidgety to put on but not a dealbreaker.
Great bassinet and overnight sleeper
So glad we purchased this bassinet. As an overnight sleeper it meant we could just take the pram with us and not have to worry about any other bedding etc for the baby. It's very easy to clip on and off the pram itself if you need to carry it inside.
My only negative was we had a large baby and he outgrew the bassinet by 12 weeks. Some of the other brands are a little bigger but at 3 months he was ready to be looking around at the world anyway.
Fantastic bassinet pram
This pram with bassinet fitting is fantastic. It is very lightweight and steers easily and is slim enough to fit through normal spaces. I've used it both in shopping centres and out on footpaths and it's been great. Bub also sleeps in it during the day at home downstairs and loves it.
The storage is massive - the biggest I've seen. It's a little harder to access with the bassinet on as the gap is smaller than with the stroller attached but it's fine as long as you're not putting anything bulky in the basket.
Would definitely recommend this pram.
Nice bassinet, but on the small size
I spent a long time researching strollers for our son and ended up going for the Alta based on great reviews and the option of using a bassinet when our son was small.
On the plus side, he is very comfy in it and is happy to nap, it has a great hood and large flip-out UV sun visor, perfect for summer. It's great that it comes with a rain cover and bug net.
However, our baby is on the big side, and he is already filling out the width of the carrycot at five weeks, and taking up quite a bit of the length. I doubt it will last him another six weeks.
My other criticism is the carrycot sits very low on the frame, making it very hard to get things in and out of the storage basket. The hood is also a bit tricky to move up and down due to the design.
I have also found it difficult to get info on the dimensions of the bassinet to buy sheets and mattress protectors - ended up getting the tape measure.
Overall, the bassinet has some nice features but its v compact size and some awkward design flaws let it down.
