Vodafone uses Aus Post Records to verify addresses...Aus post records can by wrong!!
No problem with Vodafone service ...hate the merry go round of departments ..but i think thats same all round.
Today I had an interesting incident and want to share
I have been at my current physical address for 10 years
I took our a prepaid SIM with Vodafone a few years agoafter approx 2016
Jumped thru all the hoops ets regarading verification, addy etc etc.4YEARS ago
Today I got an SMS from Vodafone ..."We've suspended your service as we havent been able to confirm your address details. Please call us on 155 ...etc etc. HOw absolutely charming ( A nicer note of "Please update your details otherwise we will have to suspend your service.... Bottom Line" Aussie post delivers very little to me ...I have a PO Box for all my parcels cos unless its from Kogan, Internnode one of the big accounts OR a Passport ....they just dont deliver stuff to the home addy. Vodafone uses Aussie Pose to verify physical addresses. I gave Vodafone my physical address Ausie Post said they didnt recognise it....... Frightening eh? Major source of verification doesnt have correct records. Ayway I got Vodafone to put BOTH my addresses on record. No chance of talking to Corporate or someone who really cares about the long term outcomes of such glitches. Interestingly I cannot put anything on Aus Post website OR even on one of the FBchat rooms ....but will put it on here too . Hope this perhaps gives you an idea of how the verification process could have gone wrong for you. Good Luck.
Good first time option
Arriving from another country, the first thing you would look for is a reliable mobile network. Good thing they are the first you see in the exit of the arrivals, and yeah they will register you and all so no hassle. I just find that they are some areas where signal is limited. But overall great job!
Best pre-paid phone service
I definitely recommend Vodafone to everyone as I have been with them for 20 years and never had a problem in fact they have only became cheaper over time.
Some of the pre-paid plans are. . .
$10 weekly credit gives you 7 days unlimited calls and text plus 4gig data or
$30 monthly gives you 28 days unlimited calls and text plus 10gig data or for only
$60 you can get 90 days unlimited calls and text plus 4 gig data good for young children and the elderly
Vodafone review by adam leeming
hi all I hear stories about Telstra and optus with their poor overseas service and long waiting times, I have been with Vodafone for a few years and yes they have an overseas call centre in india however their service is excellent,no waiting period and they guided me a few times with trouble shooting with my pocket wi fi when I had issues with my internet.....
Always call me at DINNER TIME
Since being back with voda, I've told them 12 times dont call me at my dinner time, 6pm-8pm, one day later they ring again, at 6:30,pm from India. It's always an Indian Woman who rings and always about some issue raised a week or two ago...this is harassment. It's worse than telemarketers..total rudeness and disrespectful. A culture with zero consideration of others...that's why I won't stay with vo diddly....it's an arrogant cultured business who invade your privacy as if it's their number....
Just Fkn Awful.
I have been a Vodafone customer for 4 years now, throughout all of their reception blackouts, transformations and screw ups. Customer support is basically non existent as it’s hard to get onto a REAL person while calling, they have no email or text response and the app (which I use for recharging and add ons) is by far the worst of all. This app has been gradually getting worse over time and today, stopped working altogether. Apparently their app no longer supports users with iPhone 5S or older.. when trying to express my frustration about this...on the App Store reviews, I was refused and told that “I cannot review this app as it has been refunded” but I never payed for this free app and it’s still installed on my phone. It’s obvious they’re trying to silence the negative rather than take it as constructive criticism. And that is why I will be cancelling my Vodafone number.
Vodafone Starter Pack
Vodafone Starter Pack is rubbish, DONOT buy it unless you know how it works. Purchased the pack from Coles, inserted into my phone, tried to activate but couldn't succeed. After long wait while calling call centre, it came to know that the seller "Coles" had to scan both barcodes (which obviously they should know, but they didn't) and top up additional $10 while purchasing in order to activate, which is NOT mentioned anywhere in the product. Just wasted my time and money. Why the government regulatory bodies punish such thugs.
Have been with them for over 20 years. Very foolishly. Reception was always bad, and continues to be poor. A few years ago with a dual SIM phone I added an ALDI Sim and couldn't be happier. Should've ported my number in the first place but I was unsure whether the Aldi SIM would be any better. I was on a very expensive prepaid with Vodafone and it wasn't until I made contact that they offered a better plan but still expensive when compared with ALDI. Furthermore, Aldi gives upgrades automatically, no need to ask. Must admit I am a bit lazy but will port my number to another carrier to get rid of Vodafone after all. I stuck with them hoping they would improve but alas it hasn't happened nor is it every likely to.
WORST COMPANY IN AUSTRALIA
Okay so where should i start from ?
I order a sim from the website 4 weeks and it never arrived...4 times calling the support and no care then at the end they said go to the sotre
After going to the store no help and eventually they give me the sim ....i get back and the sim doesn't work...DO NOT GO TO VODAFONE or you will have lots of anxiety and stress...absolutely bad company
Extremely bad customer service
No online chat or email contact available. Call Center is all they have, they don’t give a crap about loyal customer who stayed with them for 10 years, all they want to do is to trap them in new plans which is not that competitive. I asked for a $15 late payment fee waiver because auto payment didn’t go through, customer service didn’t record this credit in notes, then after a month I got a bill with this $15 outstanding, but I was not with Vodafone anymore because too tired of their “call center” ( every time takes half an hour at least to tal...k because they always want to keep you in another higher plan), now they deny they gave this credit over the phone and refuse to give the credit. No respect for their reputation themselves, terrible Customer care experience along the years with them. Never come back!!!
Purchased 2 samsung phones to get unblocked. Was firstly told that it was a free service to get unblocked. Then told that it will now cost $50 per phone to get unblocked. Very upset about that. Then i am trying to unblock the phone as per instructions and it does not work. Then i have to fill out form and wait up to 48 hours for some clown to call me back. If i ran my business like this i would not have a business. For some reason it is quite ok for them to run their business like that. Stay away
Let me tell you about my ongoing frustration with this useless company. Every time I come back to AustraliaI have ongoing issues with their service. Here is my current experience. I went into the store in World square in Sydney to get a sim card. I showed my passport. The man in the store (the shorter asian man) told me that my passport wasn't enough ID. He made me go back to my hotel and get my medicare card. On returning, the other gentleman who served me (the other guy was busy) told me that my passport was enough. Of course I asked ...why I was sent back to my hotel. Then, my phone is connected and at no point did they give me a pin. This means that I could not easily get through to vodafone. I was promissed two days ago that someone would call. They never did. I just tried to get through three times but without a PIN it kept disconnecting to me. I finally get through and to access my account they needed to confirm my passport number. I read it out and the rep said that it was not right and that she could not access my account. She told me to go into a store. Well without a car that means that I would have to get a bus and pay for that. For what??? Because the incompetent person in the store put in the wrong passport number. Seems that's just a very difficult thing to do. Every time I call customer service I get Indian men who are very very very rude and quite patronizing. I do not know why I continue to bang my head against a wall and use this USELESS company. Seriously. I am in shock that Vodafone is this incompetent. My brain cannot process this. Now I need to go in to a store and show my passport which is what I used as ID to open the account. Just disgusting!
They looked me out of account
Vodafone locked my out of my account so I couldn't check my account details or make payments. They did not inform me there was any problem and when I rang a week later they wouldn't help me and told me I had to go into a Vodafone stall to sort it out. It is inconvenient for me to try and get to a store but they refused to help over the phone. I can see this also happened to the person below. They tried to tell me over the phone it was some kind of protection for my safety and that they had informed me, but I never received any message from Vodafone!
Call centre was rude and then hung up on me
I called Vodafone regarding their online promo and was spoke to extremely rudely by Silva. He kept on insisting that I was referring to an expired Black Friday deal and condescendingly asked me to "direct" me to the deal which I was referring to online. Where it stated in a big red banner on top of plans "ONLINE OFFER" - when I tried to explain it to him he just spoke over me and hung up on me. Rude!
By far the best telecom in Australia. I experience the highest speeds with Vodafone (up to 500mbps) where as with other providers I get max 50mbps. They have no hidden fees like Telstra and Optus and have the cheapest plans, unmetered data and the cheapest roaming in Australia.
I highly recommend.
A waste of money
I bought a prepay SIM card at the end of September for use in New Zealand. When i got there it wouldn't work. I was told on the Vodaphone customer service chat line that Optus had stopped me from switching SIM cards, which didn't sound right, as I own my mobile phone. When I got back to Australia Optus told me that they hadn't blocked the change. I complained to Vodaphone about this, but they didn't refund the money.
Now with offshore call centre for extra frustration
Had been with Vodafone for ~10 years and never had an issue with service from the Australian-based call centre. Be aware the call centre is now offshore. I had an absolutely appalling experience with a "Mamood" from (I assume) an Indian call centre. Rude, aggressive and entirely unhelpful. If customer service is important to you, beware.
Questions & Answers
If I connect Vodafone tv can I still use my dvd player/recorder to record free to air programs?
Each time I go to activate my SIM card each form of identity is not valid. Is it because I am supposedly underaged, which shouldn't be the case since I am an adult.
