you are a cash cow
The Voda network in high density areas work - not well but works.
My issue is that they sell a mobile for $1800 on a 3 year plan - at the end of the plan it i worth $150.00 max on a $2500.00 replacement (Samsung have a $700 trade in). Telstra will offer a $800 43 inch colour TV - Optus will throw in a new smart watch. Both offers kill the Voda offer.
Voda has lost me - I am not a cash cow - my only issue is how to cancel my Voda contracts - and that seems they have made difficult
A pox on Voda
Overcharged long time customer
Updated my phone in 2019, added a I pad that I canceled before receiving , it was supposed to be canceled 19 months later I find out I have continued to be charged for iPad and NBN plan 3 calls later still waiting for a promised call back and refund that is substantial !!! No response but I keep getting txt for rating customer service ? Up your game call me as promised and give me a refund !
Used to be great. Not anymore
I've been a Vodafone customer for over 15 years. Used to have fantastic customer service but now it's very bad.
Phone calls break up/drop out often.
Data is good then drops off. I would call and complain, data would be good again then pan off. Constant battle.
I have now changed to Telstra
Taking money without permission.
I added my card details to make recharging quicker. But Vodafone started taking money out automatically. I called them to ask why and the guy in India? said I had done it myself. Which I hadn't. Then he rudely suggested that I should "try" listening to him. As if I hadn't been ?!?
I have had little trouble with Vodafone in the past. Unless I travelled interstate, then service was different.
Just be careful adding a card to make things faster. They will take your money without asking.
Kind regards. Anthony.
I moved to Thursday Island in November 2020, where there is no vodafone coverage. I was on $45 plan plus iPhone paying monthly. Vodaone let me have $10 plan just to let me keep the excising Vodafone number and paying the iPhone monthly.
I started to use a Belong sim card in Thursday Island. Every month Vodafone changed my plan from $10 to $40 lite plan(not sure the name of the plan). Every month I called Vodafone and they just changed it back to $10. In January or February 2021 same thing happened to my vodafone bill, so I called Vodafone ag...ain. Vodafone telephone operator from India told me that I have been calling from Vodafone to some other numbers every month and they can trace them. They won't change my plan back to $10. I thought that was very strange because my iPhone didnt have the vodafone sim card. There is no way that I could make a call from Vodafone number. No matter how I explained to the vofafone operator, they kept saying that I had to pay $40 lite plan from now on. There is no vodafone coverage in Thursday Island. How can I get benefit from $40 vodafone plan. I am using $10 Belong sim card and I cannot use Data, I am only able to make a telephone call from Belong number. It was so frustrating to talk to Indian operators. In the end I decided to cancel the vodafone and just pay the remaining balance for my iPhone. I called for the 3rd time to vodafone to cancel my contract, the guy from cancelling team suggested that he will bar the usage of my vodafone number so that there is no more mysterious usage on my vodafone number.
Mobile coverage far worse than Telstra
Planning on switching my mobile phone service back to Telstra as the mobile coverage is pretty poor. Lots of areas with no coverage. SOS only.
The broadband though is very fast
Can't get a straight answer!!!
Customer support is useless!!!
Each time I called, I was given a different answer.
I was not told that the phone that came as a condition of getting the plan I wanted was out of stock and had to wait 3 weeks and the SIM card would not be sent without the phone.
To top it all off, I was overcharged on a set price plan.
As soon as my contract is finished, I'm leaving Vodafone.
Latest outcome - 08/12/2020: After verifying in 3 separate phone calls that, I was overcharged on a set price (promotional) plan, I asked Vodafone to verify this in writing...
Worst wait times to get customer service I've ever dealt with!
Currently on hold to Vodafone and have been for 1 hour and 50 minutes (and counting). Ive been with them ever since 3 brought them - like way back in 2013 I think - TBH never had any issues. So happy with everything, customer service, internet service, price.
That has all changed in the past week since my NBN connection has just been dropping out. Ive called 4 times (all over an hour wait time + today - which is still pending but on the verge of 2 hours waiting on hold) Im a calm and polite person but anyone waiting this long for an issue which has still not been fixed after 5 calls would drive anyone crazy.
Just not good enough - and stop blaming corona for your slack customer service issues - lift your game Vodafone!
Decent Provider but Retail Staff Cons you!
I have no qualms with Vodafone as a network service provider. If you are in civilisation it is up to the mark and reliable. However, their retail sales team is an absolute joke. They will con you by selling you things that you do not need or can find online for 1/10th of the price. The key words that the sales people use are "it is included along with your plan", "it is free", "it is a special offer for new customers" etc. They particularly take advantage of consumers whose first language is not English and are new to the country. International...students are a big mark for them. For instance, a phone plan that would normally set you back by 80 dollars a month, consumers end up paying $120, cause they include headphones, screen protectors , cases etc which the consumer thinks they are getting for free. If i were to buy Vodafone, I would buy it from their online store and not go to the retail store at all. Once again, the network and data speed is reliable and great. Just be careful if you walk into their retail stores.
Their negligence cost a disabled person her brand new IPhone 11
I bought a new IPhone 11 on 14/11/19 at Vodafone Marion (upstairs). The staff member was friendly. However, she offered me insurance and I said: um I dont know. She told me I didnt need it, and ticked the no box, thus, deciding I did not need insurance without offering me any further information. Yesterday, my phone got lost during the course of my hospital treatment. The nurses couldnt find it anywhere and when I looked on find my iPhone, it was thrown in a skip, and then this morning, destroyed in a rubbish dump. When I went to Vodafone Castl...e Plaza today to get a SIM card, the attendant was kind and after listening to how the phone was destroyed, said it hurt his soul. He then asked if the person who sold me the phone asked me about insurance. He was appalled that she hadnt explained to me what insurance is for and most of all, that the first month of insurance is free!! So, he said, if I had insurance, I would have got a replacement phone. I now have to use my old IPhone 7, that glitches out on me half the time & has a battery that runs out really fast, until I can pay off my $1279 IPhone 11 in 3 years! Id also just bought a case, screen protector and pop socket with what little funds I have. Im not here to complain about my life but its a tough thing to have happen near Christmas, when Im in hospital 3 days a week, carer/nurse looking after me on other days, I have a dry bank account (No thanks to medical bills and Centrelink rejections) and I am trying to focus on the positives. For reference, Im autistic, I have a genetic connective tissue disorder that is essentially causing my entire body to fall apart; daily joint dislocations, Migraines, stomach paralysis, low blood pressure so bad I cant stand up. My disability is very visible, in a wheelchair, (but mostly confined to my bed) in a neck brace, with a long needle hanging out my chest for infusions and dark glasses to shield my eyes from the light. Communication and memory are very difficult for me, but I am 25 and I was trying to face my fears and learn how to be an independent adult by buying my own phone at Vodafone Marion... just really distressing that it ended like this.
It's ok but I won't suggest to another member of my family because they're charging too much and even didn't explain or refund me. When I call asking lots of question, It just waste of my time.
Need better customer service
Generally Vodafone’s okay however when there is an issue I have to speak to someone who cannot speak English, so I can never get an answer to my problems and nothing every gets fixed.
Don’t trust roaming
I was led to believe that roaming allowed you to use your phone as if you were in Australia, however please be aware that you don’t get voicemail message notifications nor can you access voicemail as you would in Australia.
I missed very important messages when I was away - very frustrating that I wasn’t notified.
Customer Service poor experience
- $5/day Roaming has been great.
- Vodafone App when it works
- customer service has been terrible on more than 1 Occassion where I have been told to hold for long periods and not fully getting the answers I had been looking for.
- remote mobile coverage
- App temperamental.
- retail stores only interested in making a sale.
Vodafone is a safe bet but for a loyal customer like myself no real benefits and is best to see what all telecommunication companies are doing. Combining NBN with all mobile services works out really good.
Not the Vodafone of yesteryear
Me - existing Vodafone customer returning to the network after about 4 years.
TL:DR - avoid this company like the plague. Maybe better SLA for business customers but read carefully!
This is not the Vodafone I remember.
Ordered new plan and phone online - wait 5 business days with no contact to call and find my order was lost/stuck/not processed.
Lodge complaint - answered within 2 business days. Additional discount and data added for the trouble, phone arrives next business day.
Call and activate. Request number to bw ported. Get told will take 30 mins.
Nothing, so call the following business day (not including weekend) no port forwarding request lodged....
