WiFi Hotspot: Fine for traveling, but ration your data
I’m in the country temporarily because our Secretary of Defense was friends with the Minister of Defence. I suppose this review is for other temporary visitors who don’t change their phone’s SIM card and just need internet service for a month or two; I imagine my experience would have been a little better if I had changed the card in my phone. The WiFi hotspot served my needs well for the most part:
-Always had service when near civilization
-Service was fast
-Vodafone offered the most data per plan out of the other available services
Co...ns -Preface: this might be an iPhone X problem, perhaps android users will have more luck: Worst customer interface I’ve ever experienced. Put an hour at a time into trying to register and get the apps working, never succeeded. Couldn’t download the correct My Vodafone app. I would click on “My Vodafone Australia” in my browser, then the App Store would tell me “App currently not available in your country or region.” Other country’s apps didn’t work, I assume they’re in different systems and couldn’t access my Aussie account (I am 100% certain that I was providing the correct account information). And in order for me to sign up on the website, I would have needed to receive a text message to my assigned phone number—which required the correct app because I didn’t change my phone’s SIM card. So in short, I had no way to accurately track my remaining data, which was important because I did all of my official work on this personal data plan. -No service in the field. Not that big of a deal to me, but if you need service in the DOD training areas, go with Telstra.
431 Bourke St for the best service
After experiencing very poor service at the Vodafone store on the corner of Swanston and Bourke streets for many years, I decided to try the Bourke St mall option. The service here was outstanding thanks to Rosa and Ambrose. Very professional, friendly and customer centric. I highly recommend taking the extra minute walk from the corner store option to the mall option to find out what true customer service should be. Thanks again guys for your help and solutions. Very impressed.
Been with Vodafone for ten months now and never had a problem. Fast downloads. Good reception and clear calls. So all good. Would not hesitate to recommend them. Cheers and thanks.
Network quality medium
Network quality is different in all suburbs. sometimes I get 50 m b p s and something 100k b p s speed. They should improve the stability and range of network
Rating purely on Vodafone’s Twitter Customer Service
Received excellent customer service from their Twitter account, my issue was dealt with immediately and was resolved the same day. Left me having a positive view of Vodafone Australia! Keep up the good work on Social Media Vodafone :)
Only interested in sales, no customer service, they are going to lose customers bigtime
Fragmented customer service
Vodafone network service is acceptable with many benefits but......
Customer service is fragmented and virtually non-existent, they run a sales driven culture with false promises, there is zero respect for customer loyalty, instead they prefer to lock you in again with more false promises.
This company has a fragmented customer service team that will frustrate the most patient of customers.
You will only have yourself to blame for the time you will waste if you lock in to Vodafone.
You have been warned!
My network coverage with vodafone is the most reliable network i have come accross rather then others. Ive had a few connection problems but rarely any what so ever. Love vodafone
A fair comparison on customer service and coverage.
I had to call Vodafone 1300 number today and I got the call centre Mumbai, things didn’t start well with the language barrier Etc and things got a little testy and eventually I was transferred to a chap called Sharma and he was excellent, clear English and wanted to resolve my problem, he really went that extra mile and keep in contacted with me during the course of the day until resolved. And I’ve been with most of the main telcos over the past years and dealt with other customer service centres and never had the positive experience I received...today, I was very touched with his personal service and perseverance and this is from someone on the other side of the world, he retained me as a loyal Vodafone customer today and he definitely deserves a very big Thank you from me. On another subject regarding Vodafone coverage, my partner and I travel up and down the length of the East Coast regularly and my partner is with Optus, we both have same iPhone 6’s and she has a lot of signal drop out compared to me. We both were originally with Telstra for approximately 12 years and we both left as we found with Vodafone and Optus you got more data and longer time 30-35 days and the Telstra customer service I received when wanted to upgrade our 12 year old plans was appalling and this was at a Telstra store, there was interested in retaining us as long term users so there’s good and bad with other telcos too. But I’m happy with Vodafone.
Great service at Vodafone Cronulla
Called into the store last week looking to transfer from Telstra. Samuel was the sales attendant at the time and was very helpful. Definitely better value than Telstra. I walked in with no appointment, got served straight away.
Thanks for your patience Samuel
replacement of faulty device
I've been with Vodafone since my very first original "brick" mobile so that's quite a few years ago and have stuck by them as a loyal customer ever since therefore I updated my phones every 2-3 years and have always had success till my latest purchase in 2018 the samsung galaxy A5 which unfortunately only lasted 12 months due to having moisture in my porthole I took it back to the store I purchased it from at Burleigh Stocklands shoppping centre Qld and unfortunately the staff there were not helpful at all but rather rude and said there was not...hing they could do for me. I then took it to the store at the Pines shopping center where a lovely staff member Jacob had a total different attitude and was more than helpful to try and help me by sending my device away to the samsung repair center but he did warn me that the kind of damage my phone had there might not be a resolution because my waranty did not cover it, so anyway I wasn't expecting any good news, but a couple of weeks later I received a phone call from the vodafone repair team letting me know they were more than happy to replace my phone with a brand new device and it will be delivered to the Pines store where the lovely Jacob had taken the time to sit down with me and fill out the required paperwork needed to send away with the damaged phone. I am very grateful to Jacob and Vodafone for the replacement device and I guess it really does come back to being loyal and having the loyalty in return, thank you vodafone.
Excellent service Vodafone Brookside Qld
Moved my mobile service over to Vodafone today after being with another supplier for 15 years. Jackie was professional and gave clear information. Highly recommend her and this Vodafone outlet
Vodafone is the best telco company for quality and customer service!
Vodafone has been nothing short of brilliant with our phones so we changed our internet which was terrible with Telstra and the support we got from Telstra was an absolute joke alone with the service. Vodafone have went above and beyond in store and on the phone and we are stoked with our phones and nbn!
Wonderful service, great pricing!
Service was incredible as always, Jerome made the entire process incredibly clear and easy. We’ve shopped around looking at plans for a while now, but none have been better than the ones offered at Vodafone, and for a fraction of the price too. Will definitely be staying with vodafone in the future.
I have been on a prepaid service with Vodafone for about 2 years. All I can say is that it hasn't been excellent but also not awful - myVodafone is not very reliable as I've experienced numerous times where it's dropped out, but they give a bunch of ways for you to top up. The data bundles could be better - overall there are cheaper companies which I think I will be transferring to in a few months.
Amazing for Metro, not the best
I'll be honest, I've been with Vodafone for 3 years, and will probably continue to use them for as long as I can.
Coverage wise, it's not the best of the bunch, but definitely not the worst. It covers most, if not all of Melbourne. Using the train every day into the city, I can confirm there are one or two black spots that are mostly due to environmental obstructions, but otherwise I always have an amazing service.
At home, I regularly get 250Mbps/40Mbps, and haven't experience an outage or drop out that affected me drastically.
Customer Ser...vice is always patchy, but none of them were outright rude and always did their best to answer any enquiries or resolve any issues I've had. All in all, Vodafone provides the best all-rounder experience.
Perfect example of customer service
I recently moved my internet over to Vodafone and they were very helpful, patient and took the time to get everything right. Service has been fantastic so far. Would recommend.
Sensational customer service
We received outstanding service and assistance at Rosebud Vodafone.
The person who served us was an absolute legend - extremely knowledgeable, efficient and so pleasant to deal with. 10/10. We hope he never leaves this store.
Excellent customer services
On my last bill I got charged almost 10 times then what I usually pay. I when to Vodafone store at Loganholme. We talked to one of the staff, her name Jenny. She’s really helpful and she acknowledged me on what happened on the bill. I had a really impressive experience with her.
Thank you Vodafone for an excellent service
Just received my new phone today after I was given the wrong device from one of the Vodafone store. Follow up service was greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work.
The curate's egg
Pros - its really cheap, the data seems to last forever.
Cons - Crashes _all the time_. It works fine in town but is hopeless at home - its actually _slower_ than my old dial up connection was. I had to ring up to connect - the Vodafone website is utterly bug-ridden and useless. I have used Vodafone since 2007 and have _never_ managed to connect suing the website.
Lift customer service
I love Vodafone in general. However when needing customer service or accounts support, this seems to come from India and I have to repeat myself and explain 6 ways before the operator "gets it". It becomes an unnecessarily time consuming and frustrating process. PLEASE bring this support back to Australia. Offshoring is DEAD.
Yes! not the same as telstra, not even close in alot of areas, but if you look at there coverage map and work out where you go 90% of the time if that suits you than there great.
Definitely preferable to Optus (hence 3 stars). The coverage isn't that great - too many zones where GPS drops out if you want to drive outside the city. Telstra coverage is better. If you are talking to Telstra phones, I'm finding that there's less interference with the line when I call rather than receive.
However Vodafone is still only interested in making the customer pay and pay and pay. For example, just upgraded to a new plan - changed from Samsung S7 @ $75 per month to Samsung S9 @$65 (yeah, it's ridiculous that they expect yo...u to pay more for the older phone and don't bother to tell you that a better plan exists) and had to pay penalty for breaking contract 4 months early $140.01. This was especially irritating because the only reason I broke contract was because S7 was faulty (overheated on wifi charging and usb no longer worked) and the only way to confirm that it had a problem was to send the phone away for checking - Vodafone is under the impression that a 'loan phone' is as good as your own and that I would be stupid enough to send the phone in without wiping all my personal data.. Then to make matters worse, I was charged for an extra month on the old plan because according to the Manager of the Belconnen Mall Vodafone, it was my own fault that I 'hadn't come in to change the phone on the 6th of the month' instead on the 7th (which was when I could go in). So beware that Vodafone employees are brainwashed to sprout company bylines instead of actually listening and engaging with the customer. When I tried to explain to the Manager that I didn't see why I had to pay for an extra month of a non existent phone and plan - he kept on bleating that this was the 'bill cycle' - didn't appear to recognise the irony of the tagging line that the bill was an 'advance payment' at all, Had to devolve into shouting just to confirm that yes, Vodafone absolutely expects me to pay for an extra month of non existent phone and plan as well as to pay the penalty of breaking contract - note that at no point, did I refuse to pay, I just expected to pay for what I was getting.
Vodafone Westfield Mall
Ash at the Vodafone store in Surry Hills was absolutely fantastic, and not only was the service great, their plans are 2nd to none!! 50gb for $45/mth? Un-bloody-real!! Vodafone FTW
Great customer service
As my plan with Testra was coming to an end I thought that i would look around for the best deal to suit my needs. The guy in the Vodafone store in Melton Victoria was so very patient showed me the plan and the cost of the phone, included the cost of overseas add on plan. Everything was very clear. Arranged the transfer of my number, told me what was going to happen and if by any chance was not correct he would personally deal with it. Everything went to plan and im very happy!!!!
