Moved to Vodafone from Telstra, one week later
I wanted to move to Vodafone because the roaming offered is more attractive than the one Telstra offers. However I was very hesitant because historically everyone says Vodafone has the least coverage…
Finally I have made the move….
Network is better than my work Optus SIM. I travel from NSW southern highlands to the shire and Blue Mountain weekly and I have reception everywhere I go and more 5G access than my Optus SIM. Areas where Telstra was a black spot, I now have reception also. Sure the 5G reception is more limited than Telstra but that...doesn’t bother me. The customer service I received is 10 times better than Telstra. They answer the phone within seconds, they respond to live chat immediately and the wait at the Vodafone shop is minimal, if any. Honestly I am so surprised to see all these negative reviews. But this is typical of many telecom providers, people only leave reviews when they are not happy. With half of these reviews generally due to user errors or lack of understanding. If you are hesitant to move from Telstra because they supposedly better, hesitate no more!
Quick and Friendly customer service
I wanted to change my package and get some information about my bills. Sanjana and Sadhir were so helpful. They were very friendly meantime quick and Efficient. The recommended package was affordable as well.
Not very good for royal customer.
I am with Vodafone form 2007, nearly 15 years, a royal customer, even if my wife said there is better plan with another service provider, I always refuse to switch.
In July 2018, I joined $40 plan, 40G data for 12 months, after expiry, they didn't call me and provide a new plan, I supposed I will automatically roll into a new plan with 40G data but reduce speed after 40G.
Last month, there was issue with WIFI for a couple of days, and I was using mobile to watch movie online, I got an message for 85% data used up, I didn't read in ...detail and didn't paid much attention, then I got the bill for $120, $5 for per G data I used which after 40G. I called their customer service, they are willing to provide $40 discount on the condition that I signed another 12 months contract with them. I told customer service I am with them for 15 years, but they still refused to waive the extra $80, pointing that it was my mistake I didn't read the message in detail.
I cannot even use up 15 GB of my 30 GB plan because of poor network, day or night, No service to even search online ley alone watching a video!! I gave up totally
Great customer service and plan prices
Vodafone has been great over the past few years I have been with them, I always receive fast and super friendly customer service when needed and always resolved very quickly. My plan is a very good rate and they do like to retain customers and reward loyalty, there’s some areas around sydney with basic reception and sometimes the network does go down for maintenance. I highly recommend vodafone if you’re mainly looking for an affordable plan. My partner is with Telstra so he can hotspot if we travel to areas with no service but Vodafone gives me the day to day use I need at such a great price.
Vodafone Marion Westfield SA simply woeful -- never again!
On 29 May 2021 I spoke with someone at Vodafone online support staff on a problem with a small white simacrd-driven modem who lights work intermittently during the day or not at all until night time. Which means during the day I have to keep checking the modem is still working. He advised me to approach Vodafone Westfield Marion. On 3 June I did. The lady who served me kept asking me questions that were irrelevant to my issues. Noting my frustration to explain to her in clear and succinct English, she finally tweaked. But then told me to bring ...the modem in and a technician will look at it in five to ten days. It's still under warranty until Dec '21. Why was she so hard of hearing in the first place? Seemed to me she was trying to fob me off, perhaps to get back to her social media on her phone, as was another of her colleague next to me fixated with her social media on her phone. Does anybody at Vodafone work any more? Or are they incapable of listening to customers' qualms? Is this why so many people get frustrated with shop assistants because they have zero listening skills but are quick to mouth off inanities and irrelevancies? I should just be given a new modem for the old one and not be told it'll take up to two weeks. No questions asked for a loyal customer, which obviously means nothing to Vodafone. Well keep on flicking your social media on your phones. That's more important than earning a wage the right way.
Great Service, Sad to Go
I was a Vodafone customer for nearly 2 years and I had a great experience. Really good coverage, the perfect plan for what I needed at the time and a useful app to keep track of my data usage. I only moved to a new company because I found that I was only using minimal data (<5GB/month when my plan offered 50GB), so I found a cheaper option elsewhere.
I called to cancel my plan and switch my number to the new company and the customer service team was brilliant - they offered me a few new plan options to try entice me to stay but were very under...standing that my data usage needs were well below what they were offering, so went out of their way to make sure I would have no issues in transferring my number. I cannot fault my experience with Vodafone and am surprised to see so many poor reviews on here.
The Best Aussie Provider By Far
I really don't understand all the negative reviews. I switched to Vodafone quite desperately after going through a nightmare with iiNet where we had to wait 9 months to get nbn installed at our address while PAYING AS IF WE HAD NBN, and got fobbed off constantly. I got sick of it and ended my contract with them early, not before being slapped with a $200 fee for cancelling early, and switched all of our mobile and internet services to Vodafone. Lo and behold, what took iiNet 9 months to pretend to complete, Vodafone got done in less than 7 days...after switching to them! Since they installed nbn, our internet has been flawlessly reliable and extremely fast. The new 5G mobile network is the same, and on the rare occasion we have needed support their staff are extremely friendly, helpful and fast. I have absolutely no complaints so far. Easily the best experience I have ever had with a provider. I will certainly be a customer for many years to come!
Advrage 20-25mbps speed, but i have seen it reach speeds of up to 90mbps in good reception. This service finaly allowes you to do mass updates like the 77gb star wars battlefront 2 update.Speed is awsome! And great deal! The only downfall that effects me is that the coverage is not crazy, if i use my internet while my phone is in the center of the house i only receve 3mps but if i put my phone near a window it can run up to 90mbps, and advragely runs at around 25mbps im guestermating, well thats what i have observed, and i would say every phone...would run differently depending on processors and such, but other then that i am finaly able to do mass updates like the 80gb call of duty updates and stuff that are on that much larger scale. Chears vodafone for bringing us a great deal!
User unfriendly website.
I have been with Vodaphone for 18 months on a sim only plan since I scrapped the landline. The service itself has been faultless, however since I can't understand foreign call centre staff I went online to choose a GB upgrade and found their website so confusing and biased to new customers I ended up changing to another carrier who had an easy to understand website, and had my phone number ported within 24 hours. So long, Vodaphone.
I've just had an excellent experience with Revesby Vodafone. Adam changed my phone over to the 60GB red plus plan for $50 each month. I watch ABC iview on my phone and I hotspot to my laptop, so this is ideal for me. Adam was patient and professional as he worked through my request. Thank you Vodafone and Adam.
When signed plan, have to pay even I don't use it

I signed contract for more than 12 months month-to-month contract and I called them to hold service for 1 month due to traveling. First call the guy said can only suspend since the starting of next bill the 1st Feb for my bill and have to do at least 1 month March, while I travel on 19 Jan and back 22 Feb. I ask is there other option? He said no. Until I raised my voice and say why I could do that before with another number service and now I have to pay for everything even I don't use it. T...
Vodafone service and coverage getting worse
It used to be very good. In fact I was with Vodafone for almost 10 years. However, i started experiencing network issues since last year even in city limits at times. The quality of sales calls have also dropped significantly. They used to be very good in the past. I’m not sure what’s changed, but I’ve decided to look for other options. There are better deals and coverage, my wife was also with Vodafone and moved to Belong. They have much better coverage and value for money. I recommended Vodafone in the past. However wouldn’t be doing it any more.

I think Vodafone is great, they have pretty good prices and gives you a good amount of mobile data at a reasonable price

Billing cycles and final invoice
I have been a customer for 18 years, yes, 18 years! Obviously I have been happy with the service, generally. Any expectation of coverage outside the major cities is a wish list, but I’m a user in the large mainland cities. The overseas usage is fantastic when roaming with other providers ... AUD5 extra on local plan for 24 hours is very worthwhile.

I have been a customer of Vodafone for a few years with both my mobile phone & NBN because I was assured that they were adding towers themselves so as coverage would improve (which it did). Recently the reception on my mobile has now deteriorated markedly along with my NBN connection... After contacting Vodafone on many occasions with no result I am now looking at an alternative NBN connection and ditching Vodafone NBN .Unfortunately, I am still locked into a mobile deal for the next 18months but as soon as I can opt out I shall be doing so.. So disappointed that I have been lied to by Vodafone as I should probably report them to the authorities but that doesn't make the reception any better..
