Smaller than i thought but good
Very directional, has to be pointing right at you to feel anything and it wont circulate air in the whole room like advertised (small bedroom). Is very painful to clean and vibrates which is noticable when it is on the computer desk, it is also very loud when on high.

True air circulation from a fan! Yes you heard that right!!
I bought 2 Vornado air circulators on sale at Costco! These air circulators hands down beat Dyson air multipliers. I have an AM07 tower fan and sadly the AM07 is honestly a waste of money. It simply cannot compete with the sheer cubic feet per minute and vortex air action that is generated by the powerful fan blades and motor of the Vornado 660. It is the reason why this fan is labelled an air circulator because if you aim the beam of air at the corner of a room, it creates a vortex of air that bounces off the walls to create a constant movemen...
Read moret of air in the entire room. I know the Vornado RRP is quite steep for a fan but honestly it is worth it. Vornado hands down will beat any Dyson fan or any other fan for that matter. It still doesn’t beat true AC, however, using an air circulator in conjunction with an AC will help provide entire room comfort and help move air into other parts of your room or home due to the powerful turbine like motor! Do yourself a favour. Get one! Yes, its initial outlay of $229 RRP for a so called fan is quite steep, but it honestly is worth it and will truly provide you comfort during those days where you need to push hot air out of your room/lounge room. Just remember to aim the beam of air to the corner of a room and angle it to the point where you start to feel the air circulate around you. oh and you can also use these air circulators in winter too! Use it to help circulate warm air around your home. Do yourself a favour and invest in Vornado!!BevGreater Melbourne (Outer), VIC

Best Ever
I have had my Vornado for years. I recommended it to so many people that the store i mentioned actually sold out. Best investment ever. I had a small split system which did not cool down the house only one room. I put the Vornado on the floor in front of the split system. It was 40 degrees outside 25 inside. I know have ducted cooling which gets turned off and the Vornado goes on. We sleep with doonas on even when it is hot. Tip: Put the Vornado in front of an open window or door when the cool change comes in. It sucks in the cooler air and pushes it out to circulate in the room.

The best purchase ever made.
This is the best purchase I ever made. I have it in the bedroom where there is no air-con and it cools the whole room down all day and night. It is quieter than most fans (on a low speed). The circulator is virtually silent and has multiple speeds to choose from. I absolutely love it and agreed there is nothing better than Vornado. The fan itself in a beautiful WHITE finish with a polished chrome slide to adjust the angle of the fan.
Recommend this fan for anyone wanting to keep cool this summer.

Fantastic fan
Super high powered and customisable. Very portable fan. Good design, looks fabulous in the room. Works every time to cool down the room. If you want a fan that will work forever and not break down within a couple of weeks, this fan is it. A quality fan for life!

Vornado 660
Trusted worldwide reviews of this little gem and took the first plunge in buying Vornado 533 about 6years ago. Still going strong. Since then we got more Vornado air circulator- the pedestal model 783 for the living room and model 660 for the master bedroom.
Vornado 660 has more electronic components as the 4 speeds setting are controlled by electric buttons whereas the smaller 533 and the pedestal 783 is controlled by mechanical knob. The loudness from the low speed 1 and 2 is acceptable by most users but speed 3 onwards can b...
Read moree quite loud for some. The noise is not due to the motor but the propelled air circulating through the blades. Overall, we find the bigger 660 circulates more air than the smaller 533 but is quieter. The high gloss surface of the unit gives a modern feel. Has been using the unit for 3years with no issue. Took a while to get use to this non oscillating fan but you would not need it for this Superfan. It works by directing the vortex to wall/ceiling and you will be able to feel the breeze. Recently had a perfomance issue with a separate Vornado fan and it was replaced promptly by the company. Excellent product and glad to deal with a company that stands on its warranty.Jet B

Another over-hyped, slick marketing gizmo that under performs.
Very disappointed to say the least. After reading all the good reviews i took the $200 plunge but in reality i could have bought another $25 fan from Big W with exact same result (well at least the Big W one would oscillate and is quieter !!) Live in a small flat and the air flow with this is very under whelming, simply cannot see what all the fuss is about. My Big W $25 fan gave better overall air flow and automatically oscillated. $200 and no remote, no oscillation. Forever getting up to either change the direction of angle so can feel the ai...
Read morer or change the fan speed. After a couple months it needed cleaning....oh yeah right, if you have an hour or so to try and locate the screws to finally get the back cover off and is then incredibly hard to get all the built up dust off the blades in between and cover, a pain in the head !! Certainly got sucked in with the slick marketing for another over priced, slick marketed product. The USA makes some good products for sure but this ain't one of them - rather an over rated, under performing piece of plastic - someone is making some big bucks!!. Just buy a standard fan with oscillation function and forget wasting your hard earned bucks.fanaticcookGreater Melbourne (Metropolitan), VIC

so impressed
thank you product review for helping me select the perfect fan for our unit. It seemed pricey, but it is not only compact, light and quiet, it also churns up an impressive airflow. it is truly a very powerful fan for the size, worth every cent that i have spent!

Blows me away!
I am very satisfied with this fan, I had previously brought the size down which I am also satisfied with but I found rather loud.
I heard the larger fan was quieter and it definitely is! It also seems to move the air around the room better.
Love it, I also have a dyson fan and it just can't compare with the power this has.
The lack of ossiclation does not bother me.

Expensive but awesome
Came across this fan on sale and remembered it from research long ago as being highly recommended. Balked at the price even though it was on sale but got it anyway.
Some people have said its noisy on the highest setting, I think it is quiet for the amount of airflow you get compared to most other floor fans.
The brochure has a pictures of air being projected a much great distance compared to a regular fan causing air to circulate around the entire room. For once the marketing hype is accurate. The column of air can be felt much further aw...
Read moreay than I would expect, I was very impressed. Our house is split level with air conditioning on the bottom level. You can feel the temperature change walking up the stairs, I measured a 5 degree differential. Using the fan to project a stream of air upwards works brilliantly, upstairs cooled in no time. It would have been 5 stars except for one annoyance. The rubber feet aren't very secure and fall out when the fan is picked up or moved around. I glued them in with some silastic which seems to have worked, but given the premium price shouldn't have had to.DeeSydney

Compact and powerful fan
Very happy with the Vornado 660 - it is compact and easy to position in my bedroom, on top of dressing table or chest of drawers or just as effective on the floor. It is not too noisy for the power it gives out. It was over $100 so not as cheap as other fans you can buy from hardware store but overall I am very happy with this fan.

LOVE THIS LITTLE POWERHOUSE!
I got this with a flybuys redemption and frankly, was a little skeptical when I unpacked it, that it could do the job. I was pleasantly surprised. It's very effective and also quiet. I've since bought another one for a larger room and it, also, is very good. Also there are no blades to cause injury. Perfect!

Great little fan - tad on the expensive side but very efficent.
After looking at the review of the Vornado I decide to try it out, our ceiling fans from hunter pacific failed again (will not change speed).
Vordano works well - good airflow and helps keeping the room a constant temperature. After buying one I went and brought another. On full power they can tend to be a bit noisy but as it can throw airflow over 20 meters you can position the fan away from other audio and still get the air flow benefit.

Forget The Rest This Is The Best!!! Excellent Excellent Excellent
Did alot of research on fans before purchasing and this had by far the best reviews of all so decided to purchase one. Have a chronic health condition that requires the air to be moving all the time and to lower the temperature especially in the over 25° range. This fan really does circulate the air extremely efficiently so much so that you actually feel it anywhere in the room and it works wonderfully. You can even use it with the air con to circulate the air and turn temp setting to 24° to save on energy costs and it really works to keep it c...
Read moreomfortable. its so quiet you can hardly hear it on setting 1. Yes they are at the upper price range for a fan though not the most expensive and Its saved me so much money on energy bills as don't have to use air con as much it more than paid for itself in the first year. A word of warning to everyone is bladeless fans are no better than common pedestal fans and are not worth the high price you pay for them and they do not work anywhere as effectively as this fan. If you have a health condition, suffer badly with the heat and/or humidity or generally want a fan that really works do yourself a favor and buy one. Strongly recommend these to absolutely everyone. Another product worth writing a review about
I wrote a review about my Mitsubushi fridge as it just impressed me so much and years down the line it still thrills me at how well designed and functional it is, so for review number 2 I present this awesome little fan. I was close to buying the Kambrook 116cm tower fan ( KFA839GRY), my main selection criteria was for it to work well on low with minimal noise for use in the bedroom while sleeping. The Kambrook seemed to do well, although testing in a loud, air conditioned shop wasn't ideal. So I lost interest in the Kambrook due to some review...
Read mores and also noticing how flimsy it seemed, rocking on it's pedestal and a 1yr warranty. I came across the Vornado and read good and bad reviews but liked the "ideal" of it so tracked one down at a quieter David Jones. I tested the 660 and the older 633. The older model was ok but I could see the housing vibrate even at it's lowest speed, there was no noise associated with the vibration but I didn't think that bode well for the long term. The 660 didn't have this vibration and even though I'm reticent to spend $200 on a simple fan, I did just that. I've been using it for the last few days in a room that has been very hot and stuffy and previously only had a squeaky ceiling fan for comfort. Well I'm impressed! It does as it says in the advertising hype - on the lowest setting (which gives 600rpm - the lowest of all the Vornados) you can feel a very gentle breeze from most parts of the room. I have it on the floor in the corner of the room at the foot of the bed pointing toward the ceiling and the diagonal corner of the room. From here it generates a cooling breeze for all in a queen size bed. Compromises? Yes, this fan isn't whisper quiet. You can hear the air being shifted through the fan, I am annoyed by annoying sounds but have easily been able to forget this sound and sleep soundly, there's a pun in there somewhere! On any speed there is absolutely no motor noise, it's just the more air moved the greater sound this air is going to make passing through such a small fan. The only other compromise is the price, $200 for a simple motor and some plastic housing! I offset this by considering the 5 year guarantee, every other fan I looked at had 12 months. The Vornado is a simple design so would likely be so cheap to manufacture that a 5 year replacement window is just great business sense from the company. Now before buying this fan I was at a friend's place and tried out a $15 pedestal fan he bought from Bunnings and must say it was whisper quiet and I do wonder if it would have achieved the same result? It's altogether possible but I always find pedestal fans get in the way and are a battle to store, the Vornado should be easier to find a storage space for. I think the Vornado moves more air at a lower setting and allows indirect airflow over sleeping bodies. Improvements? I bought the 660 as the older one visibly vibrated on testing. It's compact but not as compact as I think it could be for a fan I will mostly use on its lowest setting. I wonder if a bedroom version that is half the size (and price) and wouldn't need the higher speeds, would be a great addition to the Vornado line up?Find out how Vornado 660 compares to other Standalone Fans

Impressions after a month long use.
I have been using this for over a month. The beauty of the product is, while running your are welcome by a gentile breeze, as if you have turned on your centralised air conditioner. In terms of noise it is noisier than a standard fan at full speed, but as far as I can see the noise you hear is due to the shear force of air displaced on high speed settings. At lower setting the noise is very low considering the amount of air it displaces. If your are on the look out for a whisper quite air regulator then you need to consider ducted air condition...
Read mores or split air conditioner. Even then you will still hear a slight noise unless you are prepared to invest on acoustic isolation or sound absorbers, that will be very hefty on your pocket for domestic use. You will feel the air move below your legs and furniture, drawn towards the fan. It works, of course it does not replace an air conditioner but yes does a very good job in circulating air- thus rightfully called "air circulator". On the contrary if you would like shear "air blow effect", I have not come across any other domestic fans that could deliver it like this Vornado. If you are a hobby film maker or a photographer looking for a blow fan and is looking out for a blow fan on a tight budget (will not get the same effect as a commercial grade) then look no further. Over all it keeps its promises and claims made on the package Ing at relatively realistic pricing compared to the Dyson blade less fans. I would say it could easy out perform the Dyson, especially when you compare the price tags and performance side by side.So impressed I just ordered 2 more!
I live in a small stuffy, hot apartment on the east coast, where it is quite humid.
This fan is definately worth the money and I consider myself a tightarse.
I am super impressed with the way it cools the whole room, I'm positive the temperature drops. The space is much more comfortable.
Plus you can stand right in front of it for a blast of air if needed.
I bought from Ibuy, delivery was very prompt and the price was competitive.
I have just now ordered two more so I can have them in the bedroom and office.
I also really like the fresh white look. Living near the coast metal fans rust so I'm hoping and expecting this will hold it's looks.
I have already been recommending it to friends.

A year on and I'm still happy with these fans. They push the air around way more than any other fan. They do create a breeze. Im still recommending them. They are money well spent.

Works great and has a five year warranty
I purchased my Vornado 660 when it was on sale at Harvey Norman in Westfield Innaloo Shopping Centre. I liked the look of this fan and at the time of purchase it was on sale for $95. Even though it was on sale $95 is still a high price to pay for a small 25.8 cm bladed fan. Especially a fan that does not come with a remote control or timer. It also does not even have a carry handle so so you can move it one handed from room to room.
Any reservations I had on purchasing this expensive fan where gone after the first time I used it. This fan m...

My ceilings are 3.6 meters high and my rooms are and the air this fan dispenses bounces back and flows throughout the whole room giving a gentle breeze. Great fan
The most powerful fan / air circulator ever purchased.
Pros:
- Circulate air to lower temperature in short period of time
- Compact & light when compared to pedestal fans which move less air
- 5 years warranty
Cons:
- Could be noisy at highest setting
- Australian importer charges very high premium compared to the US counterpart (check US prices)

So happy I bought another of family member
Vey please with the Vornado 660 Living in the tropics it is very hot and humid this time of year. Cools my large kitchen with ease. Moved to bedroom at night as my AC was not coping with the humidity Best nights sleep in as long as I can remember Highly recommend this product, worth spending the extra dollars.

My vornado is not working. Where can I have it repaired? I live in pymble nsw
Lcortijo@gmail.Com
1 answer
You CANNOT have it repaired. That's the whole issue with Vornado, they are only a box dropper but have NO service agents in Australia (as I got told via email by them in 12/2020). You may now throw your Vornado in the nearest bin and contribute to global pollution.
Anna L.asked
where is the vornado fan made? which country is it manufactured?

Made in China. But very well made.
I highly recommend .
Better than any other fan I have had, and I have many.

Do they also work as a fan if i was to put it on a table shooting directly at me would i get a good flow of air hit me? Im going fifo and i sleep with a fan on me everynight so want something i can travel with

Yes but it's not meant to be used like that....you need to direct it to the top corner of the room
Details
Features:
- The Vornado 660 Air Circulator uses heavily contoured blades to churn the air into a column shape, which ultimately projects air further and helps keep everyone in the room cool
- Four fan speeds allow you to adjust how gentle or powerful you’d prefer the airflow in a room, while a multi-directional airflow ensures all sections of the room are evenly cooled
- A detachable grill allows for quick and easy cleaning
- Its small, compact size is unobtrusive, and allows this standalone fan to be placed largely out of sight, without compromising on the quality of airflow.
Feedback from reviewers:
- According to reviewers, the most appealing quality of this Vornado model is that it’s a powerful fan that does what it claims and circulates air swiftly around a room
- Sometimes reviewers found the fan to be too noisy to be left on throughout the night, while others found the noise level acceptable, if the fan is set on the lowest speed. Some even appreciated the white noise that the fan provided.
- The Vornado 660 Air Circulator costs $259, which is a little pricey for a standalone fan. However, while reviewers acknowledged this, most also expressed that this fan was worth the money.

Oops just looked at the box and My Vornado is not a 660 it is a 553. It is a great size for my bedroom .
