Best performing camera but wont last long

Would be satisfied if I only needed 1 monitor

I agree with the frustration of another reviewer... No sound when 2 cameras are on. You can only listen out for 1 camera at a time which makes it useless for nighttime when you have a baby and a toddler that might need you. We now need to purchase a second monitor so we can hear both kids. Not a good option for anyone needing more than 1 functioning camera/monitor at a given time.

Camera unit stopped working after 6 months

Overall the baby monitor was working OK. Its quite basic and never had any problems until 6 months the camera unit stopped working.

Tried to get a replacement unit from Toys R Us, but they refused and kept asking me to call Vtech. After escalating the issue with Toys R Us, I managed to get them to replaced the power adapter that goes to the Baby camera. Still a hassle to try to get things fixed with Toys R Us.

Pointless having 2 cameras!!

I bought this unit as it came with 2 cameras and I planned to use one in my toddler's room and one in my baby's room. However, even though the parent unit can show me a picture of what both children are doing, I can only get sound from one camera. This is so disappointing as it means I can't use it over night to listen out for both children!! Completely useless!

Peace of mind!

My baby started sleeping on his tummy and I wanted peace of mind my audio monitor wasn't giving. Purchased on sale was so impressed with value for money! Super clear picture quality. Very sensitive to noise. Easy to use. Love the temperature feature! Great signal strength, have never come across any interference. Don't know how I lived without it!

Value for money, does the job

I have used this model for a month now, and it does the job. In colour, don't expect full HD colours, but a simple coloured with a bit of orange tint. It does however shows your baby nicely. The night vision is excellent, I can really see how's my son sleeping in the cot. Come with music which you need to manually play from the monitor unit but I never use as I have my own player.

The noise alert levels now made me aware how loud the street traffic is. Sadly, I live near the main road.

The camera only pans up or down manually, you place the camera left or right as it is. I wish the design it with a cot strap holder or something but its not a deal breaker. For $119 from TRU, it is really okay.

Can you set it up so the sound coming from baby monitor is on all the time rather than turning off after a few seconds?

What second camera model is compatible with the BM3100? I cannot seem to find one anywhere online!

Hi Stacey,
I tried to purchase a second camera online about a month ago, however, they had to issue a refund and said they didn’t actually have any in stock as it was a discontinued line. I can’t verify if it actually is discontinued but it may be worth contacting vtech directly to see if they have secondary cameras compatible with the monitor.
All the best.

Trying to work out the same thing, it looks like it's now superseded by BM3200 which you can purchase the extra monitor for but not sure if compatible. I'll run vtech and put a post if I get an answer.
