Check the price before agreement
I used VW removals on 28/08/19 to move from 2 bedroom apartment to 3 bedroom apartment. I found the brochure in my letter box about the charge of $139/hour with first hour free (I thought it would take 3-4 hrs. to move). When I call the number on the brochure, I spoke to the guy name "[name removed]". He talked nice when he wanted to do business with me but after I paid money he was a totally different person. There are things you need to clear about the price. Otherwise, you will be over charged like me.
1. For 2 bedroom apartment, I supposed...to be charged $125/hr (which still very expensive) but because of the brochure, I was charged $139/hr. They mislead you, don't fall in the trap. 2. The call out fee, he called travel fee. Other company will charge you 1/2 hr fee but he will tell you 20 mins travel fee/trip. I was thinking it was 1 trip for 1 move. A big NO. He tricked me again. It was 1 trip to my old place and it was 1 trip to my new place. Now he charged from the cost/hr with 3 guys. ($139+$50 extra guy =$189×40 mins). So I paid $126 for what we call the call out fee but he calls different!!!! 3. Watch!!!! when they move your stuff as they won't tell you what did they break until you find out later. They will do work slow to make up the hours. To be honest, the 3rd guy they wanted me to hire for quick job was a lie. I paid them 5 hrs. 4. The truck was very old. It was broken, the door couldn't be opened and they spent 1/2 hr. tried to open it!!!. I write this review to share about my experience with VW removals so you can search more for the better one. Now I regret with my decision to choose VW. I should have gone back to my previous removalist and could only cost me $500. I want to raise this matter more if I can.
Truck too small
Firstly let me say the boys that moved me were amazing - [name removed], [name removed] and [name removed]. Turned up on time [name removed] was organised and they were fast, efficient and professional. The issue at hand is that [name removed] (owner) organised a truck too small so had a room full of items and plants that couldn't fit on truck (incl lounge, chairs, plants). Wills was not on the job like he said and didn't call in or let me know he would be there. I was told I'll have to pay time if 2 trips needed to be done. Why not just su...pply a truck big enough!!! The truck wasn't branded and was quite shabby and run down. After the reality of what I was left with I called, texted and emailed [name removed] and he didn't want to know about it. He already had my money. Never called back or offered a solution. The move was over $1000, I gave $100 tip to the 3 boys and had to spend another $500+ to get my other items from the house over the next 2 days. Extra pressure and stress on my move Nightmare! Not provided a copy of the receipt. Charged a 3% credit card fee too.
We had VW Removals move us from Parramatta to Granville. Removalists took care of our furniture and moved everything without any damage. However, they didn't finish the job as they had another job lined up that day. Besides, they came with a small truck and had to travel twice between houses spending time in transit.
They left us with a heavy glass dining table laying upside down on the floor. Bolts to fix the table legs were left behind in another house, and the team refused to wait for 30 minutes until I bring the bolts. We hired removalists...
