Lumpy Pool Floor
My WA Fibreglass pool was installed at my home on Tuesday 24 August 2021.On 13 September 2021 I took my first swim in my pool and became aware of very pronounced peaks and troughs or ‘lumps’ in the floor of the pool. I notified WA Fibreglass immediately of this issue.
The WA Fibreglass Pools site supervisor attended our house on 15 September 2021, he conducted a quick walk around the outside of our swimming pool and advised us that lumps in the pool flooring were commonplace and nothing to be concerned about. He re-attended our on Friday 17 Se...
Read moreptember 2021 to take video footage of the pool floor for management to review, on this occasion he disclosed that he has ‘seen worse’ floors than ours’. No measurements of any kind were taken of our pool floor to quantify or accurately assess the lumps in the flooring. As a result of having an unsatisfactory response from WA Fibreglass I had an inspection carried out by a pool inspector at my own expense. My inspector stated that, “The bulge that we observed measures approximately 35cm of the floor area and the bulge rises 3cm at one end and 2.5cm at the other" “It is our opinion that the underground soil has not been levelled correctly and has left protrusions at this location and has therefore caused the bulge in the fiberglass swimming pool floor. We observed a slight dip in the swimming pool floor at the shallow end near where we observed the bulge, which in our opinion indicates that the swimming pool shell has slightly twisted at this location as the swimming pool has settled on uneven soil."- Verified
Toxic Substance found in Gelcoat. Pool Failed after 18months. Not covered under warranty. Won't confirm if Pool is SAFE!
We purchased our pool in Dec 2016 , it is now just 2 years old. I have attached photos of our pool .
We have asked for a written report- NONE given.
We have asked if our pool is SAFE to swim in - No answer!
We have asked and asked and - NO Answer.
WA Fibreglass Pools - have stated that Our Pool is not covered under Warranty despite it now only being 2 years old. I have been trying to get answers since July 2018!
I have had my pool water tested EVERY DAY! and still cannot keep it within their levels stated in thier handbook! The Warranty is geared to Fail from Day one!
Looking for other people in the same position. ...
Read more The pool looks ok if filled ,(apart from the wavy lines, the small circles, and the very small air bubbles on the surface.) but when it is hot and water line goes down you can see what looks like a "bath ring" around the pool. When we emptied the pool to the first step, you can see it is not just around the top but all of the pool. I have tried so hard to ask if my pool is safe to swim in, but WA Fibreglass Pools will not say. Despite knowing that one of our members of our family displays unwell symptoms when swimming in our pool. They will not tell us if it meets Australian Standards. They will not tell us where we can find the manufacture Date that is supposed to be displayed on our pool. They will not tell us what the Gelcoat is made up of, what levels of Chemicals it can handle or indeed failed to tell us when we bought the pool that that the Blue Sparkle gelcoat that we choose has "Cobalt blue " in the pigment. We are extremely disappointed that we spent a LOT of money on this big purchase, WA Fibreglass Pools were extremely lovely and nice when selling us the pool, but as soon as we had paid and had a problem they have “washed their hands of it” . Hopefully in reading this public review, they will finally answer our questions and we will get our written report that we have asking for the last 8 months! Moving forward, if still buying a pool here are a few of our suggestions for new time pool owners: Anyone buying a new pool, I would suggest that they do a quick Acetone test before they even fill their Fibreglass pool. – Get a white rag and soak with Acetone and wipe the surface, if it comes off with a colour, then maybe start asking questions! Make sure that you keep all of your Warranty details, Make sure that a pool test is done as soon as the pool is filled and record/take a photo of this test. Ask for a pool shop that they Recommend and make sure that you write this down. And ask for them politely to contact the pool shop and let the pool shop of what levels that your pool needs to be kept at. (please bear in mind that your pool heater, your pool Chlorinator, and others items that you purchase with your pool may have different levels that they may want you to keep your pool at). These are all suggestions above.Questions & Answers
